Meh, I eyeball nutmeg all the time when going into a recipe as long as you aren’t eating two teaspoons of undiluted nutmeg or eating the entire recipe in quick succession you’ll be fine. Yes 2 teaspoons can cause nutmeg toxicity (a very shitty high) and it will give you a nasty hangover but only one person ever has officially died from nutmeg overdose and it was an 8 year old kid. Nutmeg has been a popular food and still popular but less so drug for centuries and while I don’t recommend anyone use it as a drug (mostly because it sucks) people don’t really need to walk on eggshells when cooking or baking with it. For most a “toxic” dose of alcohol can be just 3-4 drinks but most can drink more before they’re actually in trouble.

Exactly, once you’ve already destroyed yourself with the first fatal sip just go all all, whole hog and smash the shit, you’ll pay either way, make it a worthwhile day long toilet journey. I think there’s a few stages of lactose intolerance Similar to grief: denial, bargaining, depression…anger, yeah, and denial is really a long one. I spent years in denial and return to it whenever I confront a delectable cream sauce or cottage cheese fruit bowl.

@@Mitreme depends how bad your lactose intolerance is. (Which probably depends on how much lactase enzyme you express if at all, and how efficient your enzymes are.)

@@Mitreme you might also have it relatively less bad than people who complain about the lactose causing discomfort

Lactose is the sugar in milk, lactase (the enzyme) breaks it down into galactose and glucose, which is the step lactose intolerant people cannot do on their own. A good brand of "lactose free" milk will have all the lactose fully broken down. (Which is why it also usually tastes sweeter as galactose and glucose are sweeter than lactose). You probably just got a bad brand! Atleast here in germany lactose free milk has to have the lactose fully broken down. Idk about american laws.
