+Kasper Lehto usually when you shoot the hand of the person you have a duel with it fills the bar full but with him it doesnt so you cant just disarm him you have to kill him
When I first played this game, I shot Mrs. Ross before I went to murder her husband. I felt bad. Then after I talked to Edgar's brother, I shot him too. I felt even worse. About a year later when I played this game again....I killed them all again. I'm such a bad person... *wink*
I shot Edgar upon the first opportunity when papa marston was still alive. It failed the mission so I took the disk out of the console and broke it in half
John Rainey I wanted to hog tie Mrs. Ross and toss her on the railroad tracks and wait. Then shoot Edgar's brother in the nether regions then shoot Edgar.
Because Jack Marston when he was 16 was fascinated by newer technology and machines, I wonder what he thought about the _Titanic_ when it sank between when his father died and the events of this mission.
I love how jack uses an m1911 to kill edgar, i mean, i love how Rockstar takes care of that details, also, i didn't played so much of RDR so, im sorry if that gun is already when you play like John, i could believe that, because, he lived in the 1911 and, the m1911 was created that year so...
What would've been really satisfying to me is as Jack you meet with a couple of the characters that helped John in the story. would've been nice seeing how they turned up
Some side-quest characters react differently when you play as Jack. For example, I remember during the 'California' side mission when I spoke to the Sam the first time in the first part of the mission as John and then spoke to him the second time in the second part of the mission as Jack he said how much Jack looked like John Marston.
When you think about it is sad that Jack decided to go choose the path his father, John worked hard for him to avoid. John didn't want his son live the life of an outlaw, and by killing Ross out of revenge, Jack is now what John didn't want for his son..
yoshioi it's how times like that worked for example if someone kills your cousin you had all rights to go and kill the bastard who did it if someone stole your horse you could just shoot them of your horse and imagine the effect it had on Jack his father wanted to protect him and teach him right from wrong and betrayal is just fucked up which is what Edgar Ross did to John and Jack go's back because him and his mother were worried about johns life and Jack comes to see his father covered in bullet holes and blood he probably just died inside when he saw it so it's totally reasonable for jack to kill Ross
It's kind of a never ending cycle of violence. Arthur also wouldn't have wanted John to go on a revenge mission to take out Micah but he did and it turned out to be to his demise.
Another thing that is really sad about jack is that he has nothing left. Absolutely nothing. His whole family is dead. Even the dog isn't around the house. There is nothing left for him. All he had was this revenge. I wish we could see more of jack in main missions. He would definitely be a very interesting character. To see him trying to find meaning in this horrible life of his.
Not a secret, but it's listed as a Stranger side mission, and a good majority of people who didn't do the side missions didn't know that you ended the game by killing Edgar Ross.
TightKickflip Yeah it's the one mission that wraps up the game's story, but the game treats it like a side mission as it shows up with a purple question mark on the map.
I miss this game, I wish it was ported to the xbox 1 or even better - the PC. Hopefully the new one will show us JOHN in his early years and gang life. He was such an amazing character, hurt to watch him go - this game is hands down my favorite game ever.
+Ohyawellfuku Sounds like you been looking at YT Rumor vids, but I agree, that would be nice...and I do believe it will be about Dutch and the gang in the early years; actually thats a good way to bring John back! "Some trees flourish, others die. Some cattle grow strong, others are taken by wolves. Some men are born rich enough and dumb enough to enjoy their lives. Ain't nothing fair. You know that." (One of his first conversations he had with Abigail at Beecher's Hope in the game) - John Marston!
i dont need his fucking money that's why, even if he had like a million dollars on him he was the fucking man who killed my dad and i wouldn't wanna take anything from him other than his life
***** Yeah, but a HD version would be awesome to play before the new one comes out... It was great playing all 3 Uncharted games back to back before the release of Uncharted 4.
I don't know why people are satisfied with jack killing Edgar all that means is that jack is countinuing the murderous cycle John so desperately tried to keep away from jack At least that's what I think
Is it just me or is it just that when I duel I don't like using the hi-power pistol? It just doesn't make it feel like the old west when I use that gun
***** Common sense really. It's 1911 and you don't want to let the other guy get the better of you. Why pull out an old gun from the days of Billy the Kid?
+ColoredRetardz its the last horse you can get/buy after you beat the game and do a few side quests like bounties, live bounties.. It cost $750 and you buy him in black water in the general store
Kind of makes you appreciate how far voice acting and just general "directing" has come in just a few years. This was the height of drama just 6 years ago but if this was released today it'd probably laughed at with the awkward pauses, the unnatural pacing in their speech, etc. Still cool as shit though.
Walrusberg GTA 5's dialogue felt pretty organic, corny at times but still kinda flowed well together, I too have noticed that the scene structures and dialogue were set up a bit awkwardly, but I'll attribute it to the way people probably were back then, it probably has to do with their mannerisms as well.
I agree. I wouldn't say the voice acting is laughable but the standards have definitely gone up. It's not even the voice acting per say that's the issue as much as the awkward pauses and structure, though Jack's voice acting is a bit rough.
After the credits, I took out the Mauser pistol and unloaded 4 clips into his body and 15 shotgun shells as well...I then threw a dynamite at him....he feel into the river. Revenge is still not satisfied!! >
wow thank you, all this time i had just rode around for a few minutes and figured that was that and shut the game off...wish i had looked alittle more at the map...might play the whole game again just to really finish it
Hey guys remember the mission when John showed jack to hunt in the beginning the cut scence . Jack was telling john him about his book it was about a man that look for the killer of the dad and the man killed the killer of the dad
actually the undead nightmare and red dead redemption storys mix. once you get home in red dead redemtion thats the beginning of undead nighmare then once you cure it and go home thats when you die in red dead redemption then after john dies and before you become jack it goes to undead nightmare where you play as zombie john in the after game. hope thats not confusing. :)
you can always sniper rifle his head off after you kill him. i'm guessing you will find carving holes to his face to be also quite pleasing, especcialy with the zoom and stuff
@429gamer You have to go to Blackwater and talk to a man there who will be marked with a black question mark on your map. When you talk to him you will activate "Remember My Family" the true final mission of the game.
man I need to play this again lol ive beat it 2 times now im in the middle of a third time I love this game and im a huge fan of western movies so this game is a dream come true ...don't even get me started on rdr2 cant wait for it fall cant get here quick enough
i didnt want to stoop john to his level, but little Jackie was perfectly happy setting fire to his whole family them putting a whole clip in his sack. ahhh fun times.
@TheGunner487 actually its considered as a secret ending because its a strangers task. I thought the game ended when john died then i discovered the remember my family strangers mission
I also killed edgars wife.. Cant member if i killed his brother. But im on my way too 💯 % completion. Sitting at 88.1% done the game. Just doing the outfit tasks now
I've tried to shoot his gun out of his hand to see if that changes the outcome, but it doesn't instantly fill the bar and knock it away like it does when you engage in other showdowns. Oh well. Honestly, a small campaign would have been nice to use Jack for, but a few stranger missions tailored for him is all we get, I suppose
Edgar's Wife: "Oh are you out here visiting the lake with your family?" Jack: "No. Your damn husband killed them all." Edgar's Wife: "Sorry, what was that?" Jack: "Uh... No ma'am"
