Do another video showing which platform is the best to play RD1 on PC. I want to see the Steam Deck use Yuzu to run RD1 and compete with the Xenia performance
No its just that its a ass old game and it would be concerning if it didn't run well because its just the xbox 360 version with 1080p instead of 720p and its missing inline
@@SmithDoesGaming its decent nothing inherently wrong with it but its just way to expensive And the removed online is a bummer i certainly won't buy it unless there is a big sale
The Switch version is actually a suprisingly large upgrade over the PS3 version, a lot better than LA Noire was. Curious to see what a Switch version of GTA V might look like, though that might never happen anymore with the Switch 2 around the corner.
LA Noire was originally developed as a PS3 exclusive, and then ported to other platforms. As for RDR, its PS3 version is one of the worst ports from Xbox 360. It would make more sense to compare new ports to the Xbox 360 version tbh
@@krono5el not everything. Most games were well optimized on both platforms, especially late in the generation. Some games were better on PS3, like LA Noire, but that's more of an outlier.
gta 5 will probablynever release on switch, because of two things: the switch doesn't have enough storage, and the cartridges are too small. i would assume they'd need something bigger than a 64gb cartridge, and even then, rockstar would probably never use a cartridge that big, as they're really expensive
Yeah looks like I’ll be getting this on switch. It’s so similar to PS4 that I would take the already extremely hard to tell differences for portability. This is impressive
@@JokerX350 dude, the switch is a portable console.... the fact that a game runs the same on a portable tablet with 2015 components than on a PS4 is in fact incredible
@@JokerX350 not even the first versión of the ps4 can handle RDR2 is an stupid example.... the switch is more than capable of running the witcher 3 and nier automata..
@@JokerX350 i can't see your point... the switch is a portable console the ps4 don't, the fact that the switch runs the same games that the ps4 do is in FACT incredible
The studio in charge of making this port is made up of old developers from what used to be Rockstar Leeds, those in charge of making GTA Liberty City Stories and GTA Vice City Stories for PSP, so they knew what they were doing for the Switch version.
Uh respectfully, if they knew what they were actually doing we would have had 60fps, online, more features, behind the scenes, and of course... a cheaper price.
@@thegixlad27 Yeah!!, they could also give us a massage on our feet while we play and ask us if we want more coffee, what a shame of developers isnt it?
the switch have 720p and the PlayStation have 2160p and the PS3 1080p how can you say it's better? The switch and the PS3 are really similar and the PS3 plays it on 1080p, it's a 16 year's old console
@@ramboy4475on ps4 (which most people have unless they have Xbox) it’s 1920 by 1080 I believe, and switch can do that if docked, on top of being portable on 1080 by 720.
@@HermesderWetterbote They probably could. The fact that it's still 30fps on PS4 is probably more to do with wanting consistency between versions, and the Xbox version (which isn't being updated) is only 30fps.
I played the game for the first time during the pandemic on PS plus and I was surprised by how great it looked and played for a game from 2010. I really enjoyed it a lot and consider it one of the best games from the 2010's. This game was so much ahead of it's time that just an upgraded resolution make it perfectly fine in 2023, even if it looks dated for today's standards. I don't think however that 50 bucks is justified without extra's. I guess it comes down to what people are willing to pay. If enough people pay 50 bucks, these practices will just continue. If everyone waits until the discounts arrive, it's a clear sign that the strategy failed and they will adjust in the future. Just like microtransactions, people vote for the kind of world they want with their wallets.
lol at people praising rdr on the switch...its an xbox 360 game that can run on less than 512mb of ram....I sure hope the switch can beat an 18 year old console!
@@JokerX350 its run on BC on Xbox ...its the Xbox 360 version unlike the true port of ps4 pro ....if a little better shadows isn't an achievement ....and i didn't notice the difference....its just like the game looked a bit sharper on Xbox ..maybe different anti-aliasing because X360 was using MSAA
Nice to see more people play it. They can F off with the $50 price. I’ll grab it on sale. Too many great games this year who aren’t predatory companies (like quake 2 remaster and Baldurs gate 3)
Everyone's pretty critical on this port which is understandable. For Nintendo Switch, a console that has an old mobile processor, it's a pretty decent port. As for PS4, it's kind of a ripoff.
It’s not a ripoff because this is for switch and ps4 players who haven’t play it yet. Over 117 millions ps4 and 125 millions switch out there. This is new game for them
I honestly prefer the original ps3 version. Because while it is lower resolution, I actually find the murkier blurred visuals to be more pleasing to the eye and more realistic. The Remastered versions look too sharp to the point that they lose realism and look unnatural. When you think about it, we actually don't see things that sharp with our eyes IRL, things tend to look softer and more blended together without super clear boundaries/edges and outlines between objects and scenery. This tends to happen with all modern remasters these days, they benefit from added detail with the higher res textures but end up looking far too sharp and unnatural. I wish game developers would consider this more, or at least provide some visual options/filters within the game options.
"oh my god switch is amazing what a version", it's an almost 13 year old game, if it couldn't handle a port, it would be really embarassing. Stop idolizing Nintendo, dudes, they don't deserve it.
still funny how a game like red dead redemption is fine for the switch but kingdom hearts. a game over 20 years old and a ps2 game, only works as cloud game
Welp I had low expectations for this port on the Switch and turns out it's pretty damn good! I'll buy it when the physical copies comes out. Since 50 bucks for a physical switch game does make more sense in that case compared to digital versions.
It's absurd Rockstar didn't offer any other enchancement using the extra horsepower offered by the newer PS5/XSX or even a native version for that matter.
On the playstation store, it says that the game is ps4 pro enhanced. I wonder whether it is just a resolution increase to maybe 1440p or some performance gains.
The studio in charge of making this port is made up of old developers from what used to be Rockstar Leeds, those in charge of making GTA Liberty City Stories and GTA Vice City Stories for PSP, so they knew what they were doing for the Switch version.
This makes me sad… rdr runs 30fps stable at a great native resolution while beying open world, while pokemon scarlet/violet (a first party Nintendo title) struggle in an open world with crap graphics and constant stutter. Happy to see great performance on switch
The game is 13 years old and it was moved by the ps3/360 with 256 ram the switch has 4gb and is much more recent than the ps3/360 if the switch is not capable of moving such an old game better then it is more than junk
Rockstar has recently become a greedy company that only loves money and does not respect its fans, and let's not forget the disastrous scandal of the last GTA trilogy.
More like some of the "fans" have become whiney children that are disrespectful. Go play something else or get a new hobby, nobody is forcing you to buy anything Rockstar releases.
@@nicokuxv1926 Muchas gracias.
They apparently were not even given enough budget to upscale the resolution for PS4 pro and just flicked a switch to enable FSR2 to improve image quality for 4k in the options menu 😢 what kind of low budget crap is this for 50 bucks
I'm happy on how it looks it has improved textures, Fixed and improved shadows, Draw distance looks much better, high quality AO and AA (assuming it's TAA) and maybe improved controls It's better then the Xbox version on 4K now we need a PS4 Pro Vs Xbox X/series X
I'm playing on PS5 and I'm really impressed so far tbh. As you say, it runs and looks great. I played the PS3 version for about 2 years and this is a massive improvement on an already amazing game. I doubt I'll get 2 years out of it, as most of that play time was online but still, this is no straight port for sure.
@@JaseHDX Which AA setting is best then? I just left it on FSR (default) I think?? So far haven't even thought about changing it, game looks great to me.
? You mean you do realize xbox one x and series x got the best Version and it didn't changed no other console looking better in this game also on these two consoles it's native 4k thx to the work of Microsoft while ps4/5/switch are only in 1080p30fps
@ioannisstf1971 "Rdr multiplayer was trash"- Truly Room Temperature IQ comment lmao The Single Player and Undead Nightmare still great for a pickup on Switch however
At 3:05 . U will notice the shadow looks way better on ps4 than switch ( with zagged low resolution edges) I don't blame switch though, it's hardware won't support anything better than that
How does it compare to the 360 version? I remember the 360 had higher resolution, more stable framerate, more vegetation, better textures and less pop in compared to the PS3. Only advantage the PS3 had was loading times, due to the game using the hard drive as a cache.
Wait. NOT EVEN PRO RES UPGRADE??? They are leaving it to FSR2 to increase image quality for 4k screens?! How budget was this port, did take two give the porting studio 3 days and a paper clip and some chewing gum for this project?! And they are charging 50 bucks??? Do not buy this until it atleast goes on half price on playstation. If your a switch owner, buy now and enjoy
Nah nah it ain't we got xenia i can run it 4k60fps and about rpcs3 4k48-50fps or so xenia does look better anyway i wouldn't want that Bad Port for my pc
Lol about 90% of the comments are people whinging it looks spot on for a 13year old game been wanting this a long time definitely an update from the og ps3 days
