Red Hot Chili Peppers members Anthony Kiedis and John Frusciante live interview and engagement with fans on Much Music circa 2000. The guys take pizza orders and answer questions!
Drewskidoo22 AK was being as smarmy as usual, and JF was embarrassed, mostly, but doing his best when given an opportunity to answer something well. I saw nothing relaxed at all.
@@irenahalder it's because your wound up tighter than a nun's crotch you old bag, you know nothing about the atmosphere... you ever been to the much music studio to see artists live? It's a very lose set I got to have a little conversation with Dave Grohl back in 1997 b4 they started shooting live feed probably like 3 to 5 min me and my buddy were there n he was just chilling there waiting we asked for an autograph n he chilled there with us til the producer said it was time
This comes off like a prank on John. He hates doing press to begin with, so they had him taking pizza orders & being brought to a window to get gawked at. Miracle he didn't leave the band again right then.
nostalgia overload! this show is so chaotic but in t he best way. MuchMusic was awesome, i was 3 when this occured but growing up would always watch these always looking forward to the day i would be old enough to attend myself. the day never came.
Love this video! Great times for them. I found John's answer to the staying-clean-question kind of peculiar..but looks like they enjoyed their time there
Chad Smith RHCP Drum Covers the question was ‘what advice do you have for teenagers dealing with drug & alcohol problems?’ as I understand it. Paraphrasing Frusciante’s answer he advised taking time in between for your body to recuperate. That’s good advice, no?
Well, I’m pretty sure he’s on the record as saying he doesn’t regret his drug addiction. I, personally, would recommend no (recreational) drugs whatsoever, but hey, his opinion is his opinion. Pretty bold to say on television around this time though😂
I was the girl who asked him that question. I didn't know much about them back then but had heard they had pretty extensive histories with drugs and that's all I could think of in the moment to ask. I was 15 and cringe so hard when I see this now as a 36 yr old.
Watching this in 2024 as an 43 yr old... i'm laughing at the silliness of these type of VH1/MTV shows that were so hip cool at the time . Anthony and John put on a great wholesome face for this "audience" something that doesn't happen anymore. Lol...
That girl is me! I knew they were staying at the same hotel as me, and I was 15 and with my parents on vacation. I had just gotten into their music and didn't know much about them but did know they had a history of drugs. I got in a big fight with my parents and stormed out of the hotel and somehow found my way to much music. When I got there I flirted with a security guard to get moved to the front of the crowd and was approached to ask a question and the only thing that popped into my mind was about drugs. I had left the hotel with no way back and was pretty lost by the time I found much music (I walked from the four seasons across town). Unbelievably, I passed him a note asking for help getting back to the hotel we were both staying at (why would I do that?!) Anyways, he sent their manager over who gave me $20 for a cab ride and offered me a ticket to their show that night, so I was put on the guest list and got 5th row. I later ran into Anthony in the elevator at the hotel, and later met Scott Weiland in the lobby, he was really nice! I cringe so much seeing this! I'm 36 now and can't believe this is on RU-vid haha.
Its like, your older and, and these guys are close to 40 in these days, and as a person near that age as well, I feel myself in that situation, and go "fuck the fuck is happening right now?"
Poor John? Poor of us! He is rich and with millions of fans that really love him and care about him! And whstsoever he has or had problems with adictions like pretty much the mayority of the people that live in the world
Oh man, this is a little hard to watch, because the host really wants to make it a typical fun, lively poppy kind of show. But because both John and Anthony want to engage intellectually instead of just being brain-dead and funny, it ends up feeling like a hostage situation with all these teenagers not knowing what they're doing. Lol
70s to 2005 ish fame is so strange we’ll the tv era prior to internet streaming became a thing like pre streaming Netflix era 2010s I guess just we are in a dystopia they world is gone
What the hell happened to muchmusic? Back in the day before it became just a syndicate channel wanted to be a much VJ so bad but sadly Rick the temp will forever be the last remaining VJ I can remember
@@screenheads3812 I'm just grateful my kid has good taste in music. Her own taste, she never follows others. Except maybe me a little. I've just introduced her to stuff. She has found things on her own and she doesn't like everything I show her, which is great. That means she's been listening to what I've been saying. If it moves you, and/or makes you want to move, it's good music.
God it’s so cringe how humble they are and how awkward they are like we are just normal dudes y’all are seriously acting weird over us for just liking music and playing music. It’s weird how people get like this with famous people. I mean I’m strangely in love with these two in particular but like it’s so easy to get a good interview when they are like this and they blow it. They being Ak and jf and they the fans
😢 This whole interview, and it's content is really weird...like Imma huge Chilly fan, seen em US,England listen to em Yadda Yadda .. ,and I've been binge watching Red Hot Chilly Pepper documentaries as I'm off wk, the last week .....and rewatching straight (glass of wine after dinner)...weird man peace ✌️ 🙏 Chilly Fans
Oh dear, oh dear! The interviewer was extremely deficient, and many of the questions banal and unintelligent. These type of shows are bound to make one cringe, I guess, but a valuable opportunity here was squandered.
Really... it was a fan expo not Barbra fricken Walter's relax lady, how many interviews have pizza delivery followed? It was all for fun for the guys. They love coming to Toronto, they have been to much music studio several times during the years they didnt need to sit down and have a get to know the band kind of interview they just wanted to have fun and so did the audience and Rick the temp(the host) was playing it up with john and Keidis so your complaint should just stay under your breath
@@d.a.2843 yup cuz you have any idea what was cringe worthy in 2000 when you were swimming around in a ball sack you little tool bag, this was how popular entertainment figures acted back then to be funny... obscure answers was a thing not cringe. If it was so cringe what did you watch the whole thing for? And if you didnt watch the whole thing you really shouldn't speak. So what the fans asked them questions, they are there for the fans idiots it wasn't promo californication had been out about a yr at that point, it wasn't to perform, it wasn't for an interview... it was a fan expo. An hour with the fans to hang and chill and take fan questions and comments. This was a very common occurrence on muchmusic they would have bands and artists drop by that area is an entertainment district in toronto theres recording studios and live event venues and shit around there so the reach out to those who they know are going to be in the area and they try to get them to come down and they would book guests every Thursday to do this... and the Pepps had been in the studio more than a few times between 92 and 02 so it's not like they had an issue with being there they have said in several interviews that they love LA, NYC, and Toronto the most of the places to be on tour. But hey what do I know I'm just some cringe who lives my life thru the internet since I'm 6 yrs old like you big chief
Haha I feel so bad for John and Anthony, what a cringey interview, Rick keeps trying to take the interview to the dumbest places, hard to watch. Ahh Rick the temp, that guy was annoying.
If he did so what? Who are you yo judge! Do You pay his bills, do You pay his Rent or food or whatever? He can do Whatever he fucking wants! Because maybe you are an angel that never have done drugs! Every single of My favorite rock Stars were or are hardcore drug adicts and that don't make them be Bad persons. Like Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Layne from Alice in Chains, Scott Weiland from Stones temple pilots, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell, etc. I know people in the goverment that are monsters terrorist and priest that are pedófilo and they don't do hardcore drugs and they are the garbage of this world. These musicians that i loved they have drug problems and they are good people better than those fake lawyers, presidents, priest, or guys wearing a suit with a tie. So don't judge because that Will come back to you.
