Clearly obvious they are exhausted and just got out of bed to do this interview. No one is wasted. They would not have been "back together" if John was not sober. They took him back because he was able to get sober. He went down a bad road but he is back; hence the reason they are REUNITED. (...and it feels so good..)

Understand with this interview, which was conducted on August 22 that they were in Germany August 20th, Denmark on August 21st and likely running on very little sleep. Nobody in the video is high. John however had only really been clean less than a year and a half. This was 8 dates into the Californication tour so his body was going through massive changes, add that to lack of sleep, timezone changes, constant travel and I am sure most of us would look shitty.

I’ve seen him do that many times during that era and I find it really cute, I think his dental work took several phases and procedures in a couple of years as you can see him having trouble to speak in some interviews around 1997-2002 and also his teeth looked different sometimes
They all seemed to get pretty serious when he said that but I see the chili peppers are the type of people who take there music serious and don't like it leaking out before it''s released but it was pretty funny
I believe it has to do with John having trouble with people who don't listen to music because of the relationship between the heart/soul/mind and the force of music The interviewer obviously listened to their album cause that was his job before he interviewed them. It was him listening to their album just because someone told him to do that ( or atleast I think so). Chili peppers are humble in their approach to music, it comes from the bottom of their hearts and they collide with people who are listening to it with ears from a industry rather than with the heart.
Lol, funny how people that claim to be rhcp fans, who know the stuff from californication to now, come on these videos and say stuff like "lol they all look so high!!!", people like that are so small minded and know nothing about the peppers, a little fact if you will: Flea had not done ANY type of substance since before the making of BloodSugarSexMagik, Chad's a drinker, Anthony relapsed around this era on heroin, and John just got clean so he obviously isnt high here.

The Peppers aren't saints.I read that a woman who worked in the music industry accused them of sexual assault.She wrote that it was two of them around the BSSM era.I just really hope it wasn't John because i've always thought of him as the sweetest guy
Ma ry I don't think john. And I also wouldn't take it too seriously. Not saying that rape isn't. Just that it tends to be a person to try and take what they can in those situations. Plus their sex kings if a girl doesn't want them okay I'll go check my line of a thousands woman flaunting at me.
there's a B I G difference between sexual assault and being a fuckboi, like come on now. and that's leaving aside how completely under the influence he was back then (and i mean both drugs & being a 18-19yo mimicking Flea & Anthony, who he idolized).

Actually, he was 100% sober here. The residual effects of his previous drug addiction were still present. When you were as messed up as John was from 1993-1998, it takes your body and mind a few years to completely recover from the damage. In fact, Anthony has stated that the time period of writing and recording By The Way was when he really noticed John's confidence had returned.
