Grind is ok with me. Spent over an hour on 25 cent and 50 cent coin last night. Earned a ton of comps and had a lot of fun. There was an awesome 5 to 8 minute period where I thought the machine was broken as it was constant 2 pairs, 3 oaks, and 3 quads. 🥳😀 Left up $200 and lived to play another day. Seems like I learn something from every video of yours. Thank you for the recording and editing time you put in! 😎

Bonus Poker players are some of the best video poker grinders in the world!😂 They know it’s just about “outlasting the machine”long enough for all the great hands (including the Royal) to make their appearance. I have a real soft spot for fellow Bonus Poker players that know what it takes to “grind the game into submission” in order to collect their well-deserved rewards!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Thanks John, great example of grinding. One thing that you do, that I need to experiment with, is increasing the stakes when the machine is in the upswing. This is a good example of that along with the retreat to the lower denominations when it does not pan out.
@johnsworldofvideopoker

Thank you, Chuck. This session was on somewhat of cool or cold streak. Usually it goes much better than this, and I “pop a quad” (or two or three) while I’m “scaling-up”the coin denominations. And yes, it can be a nail-biter sometimes! But when the quads are going your way, you can easily make anywhere from, $3,000-$10,000, on just a few good little “quad-runs”. Then, you can pocket that win (or take half of it) and go play a $2 coin machine & perhaps score an $8,000 Royal to boot. Trying scaling-up once or twice (expecting and accepting failure) but then, be enormously surprised, when you don’t fail, but win better than you ever have before. Be careful, but be bold! Let me know how it goes.🤑🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Another entertaining video John. Your optimistic view is refreshing. I like reading the comments on your videos too. I look forward to your upcoming hits! I was in a 2 hour grinder Sunday, was down $360 playing $1 & $2 JOB and was pretty much resigned to the fact I was going to have a losing session. Then BAM, dealt 4 to a straight flush which converts for $500 and a $140 win. I try to play short hit and run sessions for quick profits, usually taking advantage of local casino promos.

great action....clay court baseline tennis player, wearing out the machine! I like the way you toggle up/down. Also whether you are are playing DDB, or BP which you play mostly, the denominations you are playing is not for the faint of heart, and enjoy that aspect of your play as well. Nice going on those aces! Thanks John

Thank you, Tim. Just grinding it out as it comes to me. It’s not advisable to play with such a small bankroll against a $10 coin denomination, but I guess that’s part of “my style” in the game. If the machine is in a “slow fall” (as it is in this case), I’ll go ahead and “press it” just to get a boost from a Quad or best of all, 4 Aces, if I should be so lucky. That should give me enough ammunition to drop down to $5 coin play and shoot for the Royal with house money. It doesn’t always work out the way I’d like, but I’ve gotten so many awesome hits (from $8,000 to $20,000) in “pressing it” this way. Hopefully, I can catch some of those big wins for my channel. Thank you for your compliments and your viewership. That means a lot to me.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Thank you, Joan, you’re so sweet and complimentary with your words. I hope you have an enjoyable visit to Las Vegas in August. For video poker, I recommend Palace Station, South Point, and Red Rock. Hopefully you have access to a video poker simulator that “warns on mistakes” to help you “tune-up” for your Vegas run. Also, enjoy the pools and fine restaurants that they have there. Jardin, Tableau, & Wynn Buffet are incredible breakfast spots at Encore/Wynn (if you never tried those). Always make reservations at least 2 weeks in advance (through the OpenTable App) so you can just walk right in at the appointed time. Also, the Eiffel Tower restaurant at Paris, Ruth Chris at Harrah’s, Heritage Steak at the Mirage, The Strip House at Planet Hollywood, Old Homestead at Caesars, Delmonico’s at the Venetian, Delilah’s at the Wynn, are among my favorite dinner spots. Good Luck and Enjoy!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

If you have an iPhone, iPad, or an iMac desktop, you can download it from the App store: it’s called WinPoker by Zamzow. It’s a one time purchase for $9.99. (I have no affiliation with it). It’s best to have it on your phone, so you can practice anywhere at anytime. I wouldn’t use it in a casino due to the eye in the sky. Practice, practice, practice in the “warns on mistakes” mode. You’ll start memorizing the right holds over time and see your results improve immensely.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Greetings from Torrance! Hi John! Wow, you were right about it being a grind session. Some people would have found another machine, but sometimes patience pays off. Reducing your bet always helps keep you in the game. My joke is, every time I reduce my bet, its almost guaranteed that a nice 4 of a kind happens. I was playing at one dollar for a long time, but my bank roll was going lower than I wanted. Sure enough, within 2 or 3 hands after reducing to 50 cents, 4 Aces came up. AARGH! But I have learned to have no regrets as long as I have 5 credits in the machine. I won't tell you how I felt the 2 times I only had 4 credits and I hit a Royal. Ouch! Anyways, thanks for another great video!
@johnsworldofvideopoker
@johnsworldofvideopoker 2 года назад
Yes, it seems like the moment we up the coin denomination sometimes that all the good hands disappear or when we've just dropped down to a lower denomination all the good hands return, but that's just "the randomness" of the game again. However, I have been on some spectacular good runs while toggling further & further up and that IS a thrilling (and profitable) ride! Take care, Paul, and Greetings to your wonderful Mom.

I hit 18 royals last year and 2 this year. My brain was wired and didn't know it. LOL I have told you in the past if I have a pair of kings and 2-3 cards to the royal, I dump the kings and hold for the royal. That is exactly the case on several royals and the proper play for an above average progressive game. And by never compromising an Ace is another correct play and resulted in an abundance of royals and aces with/out the k. Duhhhhh So I feel vindicated. LMAO

Question for John and his dedicated viewers (such as myself). If you look back at 16:33, John does the correct play of holding the 2 4's but as you see the draw brings 3 3's. If you rewind you will see that John had the other matching 3 there for the quad. So my question is, do you feel the game is purposely doing that to sway you into making a wrong decision for the future or just completely unfortunate. I am an AVID low coin player (sometimes 3 times a week) and I play a lot and fast but I do catch a lot of these hands where if I had held a certain card I would've gotten a quad. It hurts a little but makes me wonder... Just curious and would love others inputs on this. AND of course John, another great video and amazing session so far!!!

Hi Kanahele, I am glad to hear from you! For those of you who don't know, Kanahele & I, met at Red Rock a few months back and had a 45 minute strategy session before hitting the machines to play. Using the 1,000 coin rule, Kanahele hit a Royal Flush towards the end of his session bankroll. That was an exciting win for both of us. I will also say that I was very impressed with how good a player, Kanahele, is. This young man has a very quick mind, is very accurate in his play, and has a very enthusiastic personality. It's good to know that "the game" is in very good hands with players of this magnitude around! That's him at 0:46 in the intro of my video (featuring the $5,000 voucher on the title page) sitting in front of the Royal Flush that he hit when we played together. He then hit another Royal Flush a week later as well. Bravo!!! In answer to your question, there is nothing nefarious going on in the way that the cards come out. There are 2,598,960 possible hands in the game and all the cards are randomly & constantly being shuffled at all times, (even while the machine is NOT being played) The random number generator (RNG) just keeps shuffling the cards (and even the remaining cards) while it is "waiting for you" to make your selections. You are bound to witness all kinds of unfortunate "missed" hands with so many possible hands available and with the constant shuffling of the deck. But that is "the probabilities and the "math" of the game at work. That's the beauty of the game, in that, anything is possible. The randomness means that you don't have to wait 40,233 hands to hit a Royal Flush (even though it "probably" takes that many hands to hit a Royal Flush "ON AVERAGE". It's a game of "averages" in the long term strategy of things, but the short term "randomness of the game comes into play" where you CAN hit 3 Royal Flushes in 3 hours in one night for $110,000 (like I did in February of 2021) off of a single $100 Bill bankroll which was won off of free play the week before! What are the odds of that? They're astronomical!!! But it happened. THAT'S RANDOMNESS! And it is your friend! Always practice on a simulator that "warns on mistakes" to minimize your errors and you'll improve your "long term odds" at winning in the game. The sooner that you "accept" the numbers and math of the game (and its randomness) and understand that winning more frequently is "just a matter of practice" on a simulator, the sooner it is that you'll be hitting more Royal Flushes by playing ONLY 8/5 Bonus Poker using a long term strategy that you absorbed by constant practice. Once you've gotten close to even just "sloppy near perfect" in your play, you'll be able to hit any size Royal Flush that you want to hit. The odds of hitting the Royal Flush on a $1 coin machine (for $4,000) are the same odds that it takes to hit a Royal Flush on a $100 coin machine (for $400,000). It's only a matter of scaling-up to a higher and higher denomination. Constant practice on a simulator will get you there. You can "count" on it! It was great hearing from you, Kanahele. We'll meet and play again some time. You're an incredible player!

Hi Kanahele, I had the honor meeting John at Pechanga on New Years Eve. I hit a nice 2k Royal just before he got there and we spoke for probably 2 straight hours. Learned a lot from him and he has changed the way I play this game. I do look for patterns, like if 9s seem to come up a lot, or if the machine is paying 2 pairs quite often. I have also walked away from machines after hitting a 4 only because the machine took a long time to pay out. Even though this still a game of luck, there are times when the machine is HOT and we need to take advantage of it. My problem was I never took advantage of a HOT machine and that was actually how I was losing overall. Good luck to you! BTW, you are youtube star now!

Thanks again for a great video. In addition to your BP skills and patience, I’m guessing you are a believer in the “law of attraction “! Where attention goes, energy flows…
@johnsworldofvideopoker
@johnsworldofvideopoker 2 года назад
I found that the “Law of Attraction” has absolutely been completely at work at every stage in my life (wether I knew about it at the time or not). Read Wallace Wattles’ 1910 Book called, “The Science of Getting Rich” it’s a very short book and it’s all about gratitude. But it’s so much more than that. I read it and forgot about it. But as it turns out, any and everything that I’ve ever “focused on”, and “deeply wanted”, and applied “heart power” to, has come true for me. And I mean EVERYTHING! If you knew my personal story, it would read like the Sylvester Stallone miracle. A guy down for the count in his life, on his last dollar (Stallone), goes to a Muhammed Ali-Chuck Wepner fight, writes a love story around it, walks around Hollywood (as a nobody) trying to convince people (that he doesn’t even know) in Hollywood, to turn it into a movie called, “Rocky”, and it happens! It wins a Best Picture Oscar, & Stallone becomes a Hollywood SuperStar! That makes no sense, right? Except that, it IS the Law of Attraction on full display. My personal story is scaled down from that, obviously, but my results are the same in every possible way. Ironically, I saw the movie “Rocky” when it first came out in 1976. It touched me so deeply that I thought at the time that; “Man, I really wish that one day that I could meet Sylvester Stallone. Sure enough, in 2010, I was invited to a private party and I not only met Sylvester Stallone but I also met another Hollywood Superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger, too! I saw the movie “Rocky” 45 years ago and now I’m hanging out with Sly Stallone & Arnold? That makes no sense! Arnold’s personal story is the Law of Attraction at work too. The Law of Attraction is real, works all the time, & every time, in every aspect, of everyone’s lives. People don’t realize that their “outward lives” are a “duplicate” of their “internal lives”. “Thoughts” are actually manifested into existence in the real world. If one’s life is great, it’s because their “thinking” is great and it is reflected in their outward lives. If their lives are miserable, then so too, are the thoughts that “created” that misery. If people only knew & “understood” that this is actually real and true; they would radically change “their thinking” in a hurry and discover their own true nature and the personal power that lies within to “change their own lives”. (Life is ALL about CHANGE!). When I 1st saw Slotmassacre on RU-vid, I was just passing time during the “lockdowns”. I was just a guy with an interest in video poker. (I was, however, already a really good player). Then, I said to myself, “This guy (Slotmassacre) knows what I know about video poker. I gotta meet this guy!”. And now, he’s my best friend & I am a RU-vidr…it makes “no sense”! I’m 28 years older than, Andrew, and I didn’t even know what a “RU-vidr” was 18 months ago. But look at me now! It doesn’t “make sense” or “does it”? These are just 2 examples that I’m sharing with you. But the “Law of Attraction” has given me EVERYTHING that I EVER TRULY WANTED. I’m living the dream…I have it all…!!! There are 15 other examples in my life that occurred to me that I can’t go into here but they’re all astounding! That movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” with the line, “If you want something, then go get it!” I recommend that you Go DO just that, (whatever it is), and do that, right away, and you’ll have it. The Universe “wants” you to “have it”! But it will ONLY give it to you IF you PROVE that you REALLY WANT IT! Try it and you’ll turn your life into a “miracle”. I promise! Reach out to me anytime. I challenge everyone to go out and do the same. “Whatever you “THINK” about, comes about”!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Thank you for your compliment. I have a lot of footage from this “one visit” and I didn't want to waste any of it, so I'm breaking it down into "digestible" pieces for everyone to see. Not only that, it shows the reality of a long term play strategy. I painstakingly follow, "sloppy near-perfect strategy" in all my personal sessions (although not necessarily in these videos). Sometimes, I'll take a “gamble" and deviate from near perfect strategy, but even that, is a rarity for me. I have made a tremendous amount of money by "exclusively" playing, 8/5 Bonus Poker, so it's hard for me to leave the game because it is such a money-maker. I would like to feature the games that other people play such as DDB & TDB, but then l'd be forfeiting a lot of big money to do so. Bonus Poker is a game that consistently & predictably delivers Royal Flushes to seasoned-players that are well-versed in the game (despite what anyone else may tell you). In Bonus Poker, you NEVER "Play for the Royal" by deviating from perfect strategy. It will automatically be delivered to you; it comes with the game. All that is required to hit Royals in Bonus Poker is near-perfect strategy, the proper bankroll size, (against whatever coin denomination that you’re up against) and patience (with a capital P!). I have hit 37 Royal Flushes. I collect them like they are trophies and they are all that I track in the game. I am a student of just this one game, 8/5 Bonus Poker. The only coin denominations that I have not yet hit Royal Flushes on are the $10, $20, $50, $100, & $500 coin denominations. For now, I am focused on the $2 & $5 coin denominations until I hit a Royal or two on them. Then I will move my play onto $10, $20, $25, $50, & $100 coin denominations exclusively. I expect to hit Royals on every one of these denominations and feature them on my channel. When you play ever higher and higher coin denominations (in your march to capture all the Royals) in every denomination; you never have to think about what you “might have gotten” on any of the other games. Thank you for subscribing to John’s World of Video Poker. I intend on hitting all the Royal Flushes in every denomination there is, and redefine, the video poker landscape.🌎

So, I gather both you and Andrew have done the math, but I see both of you toss hands with an inside straight draw only to have the needed card show up. Can you run that by for me? I'm also a big bonus fan, by the way.
@johnsworldofvideopoker
@johnsworldofvideopoker 2 года назад
Inside straights can be “tricky”. It all depends on, wether or not, there are “face cards” involved in that inside straight, and it also depends on, wether or not, “low pairs” are involved on the inside straights. If small pairs & face cards are involved, then you’re going to go with holding those, instead of, the “gut shot” inside straight. If you don’t have small pairs or face cards involved, then take the “gut shot”. When you practice DAILY on a simulator that “warns on mistakes”, you’ll come across a lot of different scenarios on the inside straights. Take note (if you get warned on it) if there are face cards or low pairs involved. With enough daily practice, you’ll soon learn which cards to hold, under which scenarios, that you’re faced with. Great question, Rhonda, I know with practice, it will become more clear in time and you’ll be the Queen of Video Poker. You Go Girl!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Hi John. Regarding Red Rock being a big VP Casino, do they offer the "Double-Up" option on any of their VP machines?
@johnsworldofvideopoker
@johnsworldofvideopoker 2 года назад
I rarely use the double-up feature, but I like it! Once in a while, when I feel like "gambling" in a session, (as opposed to sticking to near perfect strategy) I'll resort to using the double-up feature. It is a lot of fun, especially if it just so happens to be spitting out a lot of "low cards"! You can always ask for a slot attendant for a slot tech to turn that feature on for you and they will do so. When I first started out in video poker (10 years ago) I loved that feature (and I still do) but it can "cost you" in the long run. I'll feature some "double-up" in some future videos, but that may be a bit further out yet. Thank you for subscribing and for commenting on that!

I have a bank of 7/5 .25 bonus poker progressive in my local and it was over $1640 the other night. I used a $10 ticket and ran it up to $100. I assumed it was worth it to grind it out and was all the way down to 10 credits and held 3 to the royal and nailed it for $1647. If it wasn't for your videos I might have cashed out at $100 but I felt there was an advantage there to chase it down. I'm off to Vegas from the 9-16th with stays at Southpoint for 2 and then Caesars for the last 5. Was hoping being from Buffalo I could be there to support the Bills at the Big Game party at Caesars but most of us know how that turned out. Thanks again and can't wait to see the channel progress into your dreams and goals!!

Man, I'm so glad you "grinded it out" to the very end and hit that beast! What a great win. Congratulations! South Point offers great games and I love staying at Caesars Palace & playing there too. My daughter lived in Buffalo for a few years and I visited here there. We had "Buffalo Wings" at the restaurant there where they were 1st invented. I also visited Niagara Falls & played at the Casino there, I was such a fun trip. I wish you luck on your upcoming trip to Vegas. I'll be there with the guys on the 24th-27th, so unfortunately we missed each other. Stay in touch for the next time that you come to Vegas, perhaps you can play video poker along with us.

When you saved two 4s you discarded a 3 and the next three cards dealt were 3s.
@johnsworldofvideopoker
@johnsworldofvideopoker 2 года назад
I know, but that's the "breaks of the game"! (Lol). Holding the pair of 4's was the correct hold & it could have easily hit Quad 4's as well for the exact same jackpot. But just as sure as we all have "near-miss moments" we also have "direct hit moments" too. I focus on "near perfect strategy play" while I'm waiting for the random nature of the game to deliver me my next (and 38th) Royal Flush. By focusing on playing as close to near perfect as is humanly possible, you won't have to "lament" the near misses because it's the direct hits that make it all worth while. But you're right in noticing "how close I came to hitting a good hand" which I sorely needed in that session. Not to worry, I still have Red Rock: Parts 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 launch. Part 7 will be released tomorrow, so please stayed tuned. Thank you for subscribing, commenting, and for watching!

@@johnsworldofvideopoker I know ... but watching on RU-vid when you can "rewind" the video hurts sometime. I had two black As and a 10 of spades once ... saved the As and out comes the K Q J of spades. Killer.

Yes Sir! If you play video poker long enough, you’ll see all kinds of things, and most importantly, if you practice on a simulator that “warns on mistakes”, your game will improve, and the Royal Flushes will come your way too. Thank you for commenting and for subscribing to my channel.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

May I ask… You’re one of a few V/P players that I’ve seen, that will hold two face cards, but not the ace in the same hand. What is the logic behind it?
@johnsworldofvideopoker
@johnsworldofvideopoker 2 года назад
Great question, Wendi, and you're so smart to ask it! Video poker is nothing more than a game of probability math & randomness. The pay table dictates the specific probabilities of each different game type, (i.e. JoB, BP, BPD, DDB, TDB, DW, etc.). When you are dealt any hand, the highest card dictates the "value" of the combination of cards in front of you. The highest card also "lowers" the overall value of the hand in front of you. It has to do with the number of straights & flushes that a hand can possibly produce. Here are 2 rules that you should commit to memory. #1: "When dealt 2 picture cards (of different suits) and a 10, always discard the 10." (This will give you an advantage of anywhere from 5.5% to 35.4%. #2 "When dealt 3 picture cards (of different suits) and an Ace, always discard the Ace". This will give you an advantage of anywhere from 5.8% to 8.4%. Although it is very "interesting" to get a math book on Probabilities and learn how to apply the math to video poker, you don't need to, because that work has already been done for you. Get a simulator that "warns on mistakes". Play 8/5 Bonus Poker on it EVERY DAY for the next 30 days (Without Fail) and start "learning" what the INCORRECT holds are when it "warns on mistakes". In 30 days, you will have seen so many of the "wrong holds" that you'll naturally learn "what to hold" and more importantly, "WHAT NOT TO HOLD". This is exactly how you learned your native language by: daily usage, trial & error, and constantly being "corrected" by those around you. (language learning is a hobby of mine). If you're serious about video poker & you do exactly what I say with the simulator (without fail), then you will be ASTOUNDED by the results you get in the casino playing full pay 8/5 Bonus Poker! This I can promise you. Just practice on a simulator that "warns on mistakes", pay attention to what you're doing wrong & get better at holding the "correct cards". Lose at home where it doesn't count, so that you can, Win in the casino where it does count. Do this and you'll be on your way to video poker Nirvana. Please do this & let me know in 30 days of your results. After 30 days, go to the casino and apply what your have learned (absorbed). Then make sure to get good, clear, and "perfectly centered" photos, of your Royal Flushes in the casino. I would like to see them!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

@@johnsworldofvideopoker ~ Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed answer to my question, John. I will take your suggestion, & apply it to my at-home practice. Back then (barely 2 months ago) I was just getting started, with no tripod, no RU-vid experience, lower stakes, no big wins, but it got my feet wet on how to put together a video, and I’ve been moving forward ever since. There’s still so much more to learn and things that I want to do with this channel: A website, John’s World T-Shirts & wrist bands, a Royal Flush Club, a Patreon Page, zoom meetings and trainings etc. No one teaches you all this, it’s all “figure it out” as you go along. But it is something that I have a passion for, and in time, it will reach its full potential. Thank you for being part of my early growth. Your interest and viewership are greatly appreciated. Thank you, Wendi!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
