LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this scene. You can see Henry decide what's he's going to do. Not only is he going to stand up to his granfather, he's standing up to the King of England. Are you sure this is what you want? There is no turning back if you go out there now. I CERTAINLY HOPE NOT!
I loved Stephen Fry as the King ❤, he definitely looks the part. And I think yes, he was trying to maintain the Royal tradition but at the same he really cared for Henry: Notice how he calls him "my boy"...right there, that's grandpa speaking, not the King. And the fact that Stephen is himself gay makes this casting and his portrayal all the better.
Hearing Stephen Fry saying this about coming out while he is gay himself really hits deep : "Are you sure this is what you want ? There is no turning back if you go out there now."
Given that Alex had already given his speech and declared his love for Henry very publicly and their relationship was out in the open, what were the palace intending to do? Deny it? Say it was some external plot? How would that reflect on Alex?
Making history, different and better change and that’s exactly what these two did “in their own time of course” but Henry stood to what he wanted to be and not what his family wanted him to be
You know what why we love this movie not because it is fairytale or just a rom-com but because of soft side of love where they accept each other irrespective of their quirkyness..they are not with each other just because of physical desire....not burdened by others emotion rather try to understand each other solve it together and stand for eachother and find everyway to be with eachother....they don't try to make each other jealous most importantly they love eachother's presence...that what made this movie different...this movie is like breath of fresh air.... irrespective of our preferences. I never thought I would be obsessed with this movie where a man fall in love with other man. Even Bridgerton does not have their chemistry.
Stunt casting? Stephen Fry, who is playing the king and desperately trying to keep Henry in the closet, is him self gay, out for years, and married his husband in 2015.
@@jlyfan I'm not, by any means, a Swiftie, but really? "You people." WTF. If you're irritated by her fans mentioning her more often than you'd like, then you have no idea how irritating you and your ilk are for trolling every post and comment about her. It's more annoying by far. I probably wouldn't have noticed the original post if your reply hadn't been so strident. You're like a pestiferous weed popping up all over the place.
They will be very happy together. The extra chapter in the HB version of the original book tells us that Henry eventually relinquishes his royal title and he and Alex get married and move into a farmhouse in Austin, Texas. Now surely, that's more than enough for a movie sequel!!!
@@bionicwoman9884 - You people seem to be expecting King Charles to commit some act of spite. He has no need to do so. It is *Harry* who is insulting the British people by insisting that it's "too dangerous" for them to even visit the U.K. without security fit for a head of state. As for Harry and Meghan, they're wearing out their welcome in Hollywood because they've already aired their grievances (and used up their material) and at least some of the lies have already been exposed as such. H&M can live in the U.S. Unless congressional investigations into whether Harry lied about his drug use on his immigration paperwork becomes an issue. In which case he might need to find another country.
