They hailed from Fresno California, their real last name was Velasquez. They had to change it because of their Mexican heritage.

Now, now, be nice.... Don't be an ugly American. tramp has incited too much of what had been asleep in this country. Be thankful that this song was posted, celebrate the spirit of the song (which isn't xenophobia or discrimination), and appreciate this woman for agreeing to narrate the commentary about these talented singers. I think most of them are dead. Let's just honor them and what they gave to us....
