I just wish I get a best friend like this with whom I can decorate our house with and make it our own personal space to feel comfortable and like ourselves! Loved the video Ruby and your house idk why has a little bit of an indian touch idk I think it's coz of the style of pillow covers and the sofa cover but it's looks really pretty ❤️
Hi Ruby. You should our your plants in solid pots or put a saucer underneath, otherwise when you water them it’ll run straight through and you’ll damage the surfaces underneath. It’d be a bit dangerous to have water dripping near your tv!
I love it! A few tips: it would be good to get the plants a bigger pot, instead of leaving them in their nursing-pots, they might die more easily! And if you want to get rid of the color of your kitchen-cabinets: I didn't like mine as well, so I used self-adhesive foil. It's very cheap and you can remove it again! :) xxxx from the Netherlands!
i went scrolling through the comments to see if anyone is noticing how thin she is getting. I hope she doesn't lose anymore, especially being away from home again, also theres like no cals in ketchup so its weird that you would be worried about some so small
@@taragirsch4374 yeah same I was worried about her since she talked about a book she have read about eating disorders in her old videos I hope she is okay
As someone who has spent years in ED treatment, that genuinely scares me. It's an awful way to go through life and I really hope there isn't any issue. Ruby doesn't deserve to suffer at the hands of an ED. No one does. Ruby, if you see this and you're struggling, please reach out to someone.
I am so bad with making my space look put together / cohesive!! Literally I just go to thrift shops and buy whatever I think looks cool so my room never looks aesthetic
I love your videos Ruby but as a German I felt so uncomfortable when you unrolled the old map. I would never hang a map with the old borders…However I do see how that is something a Brit would not even think about, probably more something Polish people and Germans immediately recognise and feel more uncomfortable with 🙈
@@lelelimette1199 Right?! Hanging such a map in your home would immediately make you a suspicious person in Germany. (Bin ich ja froh dass es nicht nur mir so ging!)
Yes! I cringed so hard when she said it's beautiful! Wenn das bei wem in Deutschland als zentraler Blickfang an der Wand wär, würd ich auch erstmal dumm gucken & nach dem Grund fragen.
As an American I never would have thought about it either. Events that can seem long ago to some are still very near to others. For some, it is still talked about and felt, while for others it is just a paragraph in the history book they read at school. I recently found out that I had ancestors who fought on both sides of the American Civil War. It caused a temporary rift in the family. But now in my generation and my parents' generation, it's been forgotten. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
@@HFTLH I totally understand your point and I also understand how for a Brit this does not even cross your mind being weird to hang up on a wall. However, if this was to hang in a German home people would immediately think you are sympathising with right wing ideas and wishing back the Prussian empire. It simply makes you a highly suspicious person… Also this is the case not least because Germany a d Germans have a very sensitive approach to their history regarding WWII and the Nazis. There is this general mantra of „never forget, never again“. German history and especially the Nazi past is ingrained into us from a very early age and to us it’s not only history that is in the past and a simple note in a textbook but it’s a warning and a subject talked about extensively and intensively. We learn about it in philosophy, in classes on German literature, in French class, in art, and so on. So there is no way as to a German student would simply get a historic map like this one to hang on their apartments wall because well it’s historic and looks antiqu-ish or nice. There is another dimension to it for us, which I find to be good and responsible, given what and how history happened. I understand that this is weird and difficult to understand for a non-German, even more so for a non-European, but I wanted to try to explain the mindset and thought process behind this.
I love that you have Timothée Chalamet on your photo string 😂 (I'm assuming it's him in Little Women). My flatmates and I spiritually turned our flat into a Timothée Church (it's best not to ask how). Next year, we hope to get a life-size cardboard cutout 😂
Am i the ONLY person who thinks that the "red holder" wasn't so bad? Sure, the new yellow one looks better with the wall colour... I LOVE the way the stars look on the staircase, that is my favourite thing in this video! I mean, it is just so innovative AND pretty~! Also, I liked the plain cupboards more:P I might have not when I was your age XP. Anyway, good work, gals!
Blakeney (sp?!) is such a lovely person, I wish everyone could have her as their best friend. Huge thank you to her for being in your videos, she is so special.
This reminds me. My roommate and I decided how we would lay out our doom room as college freshmen in the 1980s. It was in the mountains and had cold tile floors. We decided to put down loads of carpet samples. It was quite colorful. However, the tape we used to secure the sections didn't hold very long. Then the sections came up often creating tripping hazards. I believe we wound up having to remove all of them. I forgot what we did after that. However, I remember that time when we had our blank space and had to decide how we were going to design it. That was a really good feeling and inspirational for creativity.
The rich stay rich by spending like the poor and investing without stopping then the poor stay poor by spending like the rich yet not investing like the rich
That turned out beautifully. Tip for the kitchen you can get foils special designed to cover kitchen fronts on Amazon , they are cheap. Cause paper will probably rip off quit fast or get wet
Ruby, you can easily peel the stickers off nice jars with a hairdryer or olive oil - try heating the glue with a hairdryer first and if there are traces left, brush the surface with olive oil for a few hours and then wash it off ❤️
It turned out so nice! You might consider putting transparent adhesive foil on the kitchen shelves though so if you spill something (and the steam from cooking anyway) it won't destroy the pictures!
That's so wonderful❤here in Malaysia the UNI is not the best even the dorms,I've never experience UNI yet But my Big sis told us that.. Whenever there's a Public Holiday "you literally have to clean your room and pack your clothes and all the decorations and sheets and EVERYTHING,when you come back you can put the stuff back and you're not allow to Keep any the stuff in your dorm when theres a Holiday, you have to take everything back home like clean your room and make it empty •-• Not even single pillow, gotta take off their sheets" I've seen this many times even my Step sisters told us their UNI experience, she's already married, and I'm very disappointed with this rules..i haven't been to UNI yet but I always know Malaysia is not the best place to go to UNI.
I was writing some dead poets society fandoms and in one there are chickens at welton, the boys naming them, I didn't have a name for pittsie's and when Ruby said Cecil- PITTSIE'S CHICKEN IS CALLED CECIL
Hi Ruby, your home is sooo cozy I love it ! 🌻 Just a little tips from a girl who loves to keep the Wine labels after a degustation. You have to put boiled water into the glass to remove the label and have a nice and clean glass to put your flowers in ! XX
Super impressed - everything looks amazing! I wasn't sure initially about the New Yorker kitchen update but the final product looks fabulous and definitely lightens up that corner! I would keep it :))
Blue tac is perfectly fine, it rolls off the wall not taking paint with it. That’s literally the point of it. The only time I’ve ever seen it leave a mark is when it’s been up there for years.
That most likely won’t happen if they’re careful. I used blue tack on multiple house walls, for hundreds of posters at a time and no paint chipped. I would however watch out of you have carpet because it is more likely to get stuck in there.
Watching you while dealing with covid is a breath of fresh air for me (if I could breathe through my nose atm lol) I’m going to redo my apartment when I’m feeling stronger! Thanks for the inspiration! ♥️
Hello Ruby I don't know how to say it but when our teacher asked us to write the name of the person who inspires us the most my bestie wrote your name ❤️. I just want to say that keep inspiring us. Love from India 💕
Random info - pineapples mean welcome. Also, I have a disc of vintage prints and adverts. When I have some Time to sit and Look through it, I will see if there’s any that would look great in your uni house . I’d love to print u guys a couple for your house share x
I loved this video so much and have been checking RU-vid 3 times a day to see if u have uploaded. When I saw that this video was over 20 mins long I was over the moon 🌙 😂❤️🤍
Really the plant was amazing the little pineapple was gorgeous on top of it, username for Instagram is: Shahrukhali1245 hoping for those books, fingers crossed...
I watched this video so many times! It's just relaxing and joyful☺. I love your friendship and I hope I'll meet someone like Blakeney or you one day. Keep your relationship, because it's really refreshing!
Ruby try using your hair dryer to heat the sticker. That way you can remove it easily. I learnt it via a facebook video and that's how I remove stickers in the book covers now. (@h_i_r_u_n_i_9_8)
The old map of Europe still has places like Karjala, Salla and Petsamo attached to Finland, which were ”given” over to Russia after the war. It’s not horribly problematic to have this sort of a map when it comes to Finland but it does play into the transgenerational pain of our people.
omg I’ve always wanted to read that Neil Gaiman book ! Its been on my list since I just finished studying stardust in second year, last month. My Instagram is @karajadedouglas
You guys are so lucky to be students in the UK...This is from a Russian gal living in a post-Soviet uni apartment with numerous cracks in walls and insects running around everywhere 😂
Wonderful job, girls! Everything looks so cosy. I love love the fairy door. And the long string is a garland I think, or at least this is how we call it in my country. You can put the small rug infront of the sink, so you dont slip while washing the dishes, as it sometimes do gets wet, just an idea. I have a question though-who will take care of the plants while you are away?
