Question You only need to hard wire if you don’t have a cigarette input that stays powered up after the car is off and locked. . Mine stays on as long as something is plugged into it. Will that work for G setting? Thanks

@@oprdocit won’t work in parking mode, it will just keep recording video as if you were driving. This will flatten the battery quite quickly.

Just purchased this dash cam. Your video now will help me configure it better. Thank you. One mistake I made was purchasing the unit with the hard windshield mount. You cannot get the camera to mount level. So I had to spend an additional $20.00 to get the suction cup mount.

@@AlexAutoFun I just purchased mine and set it to the correct time zone, but it's an hour behind. So it looks like it doesn't correct for daylight savings time. I simply switched it to a time zone that allows it to display the proper time.

Yes I'd like to know this, bc that is incredibly frustrating. This camera is in my sons car and I can not access it on the app if he doesn't have the wifi on. I've found this very user unfriendedly

Thank you for this very nice review. I have been enjoying using this Ucam app especially after the new updates that have fixed several of the bugs (and made easier to connect). I mostly use it when I need to back up from a parking spot to see the rear view cam on a bigger screen than the little dash cam screen. My question though: when I tried parking mode in Gsensor setting, the cam would record for only 7 seconds! This is not sufficient especially if you are a victim of a hit and run. Is there a way to change the length of record times? My other cam would recored for 5 min if G sensor is triggered while parked. Also - I wish they allow us to remove these warning messages (e.g. recording must be turned off to view videos etc and the other one: you may want to download the video etc). They delay our access to view footage!

You're welcome Nasri! ah yes I noticed that too recently, the parking mode only records a maximum of 10 seconds of video before turning back off. Currently there is no way to change this duration but yeah I have seen other dash cams that will record longer when triggered. The only thing I can think of is to switch it to time lapse mode but that works completely different that the G-Sensor Park Mode. Regarding the warning messages, I don't know if we will see them change that or not since UCam is common Wifi App used by several dash cams, It would be neat to see RedTiger develop their own with customization (but cost would increase) I'll keep an eye out for either one and if something changes in the future I will try to give you a heads up Bud. Congrats on you new dash cam Mario! Regarding the firmware I usually don't recommend updating the firmware unless directed by tech support to do so or if you are willing to accept the the risks involved with updating it. If something goes wrong during the upgrade, you can potentially turn your dash cam into a brick (it has even happened to me LOL). Firmware updates for dash cams are not like the App updates we get on our phones (where we are constantly updating it). The update instructions are on the Redtiger website (link to the dash cam in the video description) but again I would be extremely careful if attempting this. Cheers!

You're welcome! Ah Wifi enabled dash cams do not let you see a live view or access the videos while your away from the car. @@imeprezime1069 this is actually great timing of your question. My daughter just installed hers last night. We absolutely love it! The picture quality in clarity our excellent but more importantly, the Ucam app is working great, and very simplistic to use. This is the first dash cam we have ever purchased, but I don’t see how it could get any better than these.

Excellent video. I bought a F7N camera about a month ago, but I can’t get the Ucam app to sync with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. In Settings, the phone found WiFi file, moved it to the WiFi section with a check mark and a note saying it isn’t connected to the Internet. After that, I go to the app, select Connect Camera, and it never connects! It’s so frustrating; looking at your video, it should be so easy, but I’ve tried many times and always get the same result.

I ordered one today with hardwire kit to be installed by professional that recommended this brand. My current Rexing is impossible to figure out how to download vidios and not wifi able to use phone for setup either. As I'm not a tech guy I think I can set this up, using phone will make it much easier than using camera when it is mounted.

I bought this camera and the hardwire kit a couple months ago after watching yours and others' reviews on it. I am very happy with it, my only issue with it is I've noticed the time stamp constantly jumps back and forth 1 hour. Have you noticed this with yours? Wondering if there's anything I can do about it.

Thank you for this video! I'm new to dashcams and just had this model installed today. If I'm understanding you correctly, the wifi doesn't have to be connected for the cameras to record. But if I want to view videos from the app, my phone has to be connected to the camera's wifi. And that's pretty much the only time I need to connect my phone to the camera wifi. Is that correct? I have the SD card installed so I'm assuming the camera records and saves to the card?

If you don’t connect the camera to the phone but you have an SD card inside will automatically start recording once you drive or do you need to connect to your phone in order for it to record ? If you don’t set the Wi-Fi up with the phone does it not record either?

Is there a step to have the dash cam recognize the OBD hardware kit to record 24 hours in parking mode? I have the OBD hardware plugged in and every time I select the parking mode, it says "Please install the ACCkit".

Hi Diaz! Correct, the dash cam will record both front and rear at the same time. If you are having issues with the rear camera not recording, it would recommend contacting your installer to verify the install and cabling is ok and you can also contact RedTiger for tech support. Cheers!

Hi Joaquim! There GPS function on dash cams is normally non interactive. What the GPS does is log the speed of your car and the coordinates of the location recorded at (which can be helpful as evidence in the event of a car accident). Cheers!

First off, love your vids! I just bought the F17… used your other videos to hardwire it… hope you do a vid on it. My question on the Wi-Fi… seems you cannot connect to it once CarPlay kicks in, right?

Thanks Jerry! Ah will take a look at it, seems like an interesting dash cam. Regarding Wi-Fi, your cell phone (like most phones) can only support one WIFI connection at a time, so you can only connect to the dash cam or to CarPlay but not both at the same time. Cheers!

Hi langit! The maximum amount of time you can record will be determined by the size of the memory card that is loaded. Once the memory card is full, the oldest videos are overwritten by new video (loop recording). And yes you can put the memory car on a PC if you want to download the videos or use the App. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi! So far I had no issues with mine, but remember there are two versions of the App, the RedTiger App and the one shown on this video, (which one you will need depends on the F7N version you have) Regarding hardwiring, the advantages is that it frees up your cigarette lighter port and it can also enable parking mode. Hi Myar, if the dash cam is fully on (while the car is parked) yes you would be able connect to it (assuming you are in range of the Wi-Fi) however I imagine the battery drain on the car would be significant if the dash cam was left on continuously. Checking on your review I have decided to buy the F7NP model. Now one last query I need to be cleared is that in parking mode with car engine turned off and hardwire powered, does both the front and rear cameras simultaneously record together from front and rear in timelapse mode in parked vehicle recording.

Ah that is normal, your phone is saying that because it has connected to the dash cam (therefore it is no longer connected to the internet until you disconnect from the dash cam) I think you may be trying to connect the dash cam itself to the internet, Wifi enabled dash cams do not support that function. Hi Adin! Yep on most Wifi Dash Cams the Wifi will turn off (for privacy and to reduce power consumption), requiring the user to physically turn it on to be able to access the videos. If you take a look at your manual (page 7 if I remember correctly) pressing Up will lock a video, so you can flag the video of something you saw as opposed to something that was picked up by the G-Sensor of the dash Cam. Just bought the F7np red tiger dash cam. I have it all hooked up. It’s recording but the only way I can use the app on my phone is if I’m sitting in the car when I get out of the car and go into my house or work the app does not work, it’s saying connect the camera. Hi Loki! Correct, the video player is just a video player, there is no editing software included. If you are looking reduce the size to share the video on social media (file size or even the actual video size in some cases) you will need editing or compression software. There are paid and free versions out there, one of the free options out there is called handbrake which can also be used to change the file format, dump the sound, compress for use in social media etc. The paid version I also use is called Adobe Premiere. Thanks for the video. I have a question though. My SD card seems to record videos in segments of around 12 minutes each, but when I try to preview through Ucam app, it only shows me the first 11 seconds of the clip? Even if I download it, it still says it's 12 minutes on the thumbnail but it only plays for 11 seconds. How can I fix this?

Hi Emily! That is normal, remember when you are connected to the dash cam, your phone is disconnected from the internet. Your phone will likely ask you to stay connected or to reconnect to the internet. If you tell it reconnect to the internet, it will disconnect from the dash cam and if you tell it to stay connected, it will stay connected to the dash cam. Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun I still have the same problem with the speedstamp constantly staying at 000km/h, when I go on the GPS info it says “status off” how do I turn it on if that’s what causes the problem? I moved my dashcam around and it doesn’t seem to change anything

@@Mk-qc6wm Hi Mk7! that is very strange, I would recommend contacting RedTiger for support, maybe there is an issue with the antenna? (remember the GPS antenna is built into the quick disconnect base, maybe dirty contacts?) Hi G MP! correct, you need to either connect to the camera to download/view the videos, or watch them directly on the dash cam or take the memory card and connect it to a computer to watch/download the videos. @@nikitalaronde4291 Hi Nikita! When correctly hardwired the dash cam will turn off and enter park mode (if enabled in the dash cam's setting) when the car is off. I would have the installer check all the connections (ACC, BATT & GND) to confirm that they connected to the correct locations for ACC and BATT (I seen cases where the dash cam stays on constantly if ACC and BATT are reversed or connected to the incorrect locations that does not provide power at the correct time for both ACC and BATT) Here is my follow up detailed hardwire install if you want to see that process ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K2iKXj82354.html Cheers!

Hi! Correct, most Wifi enabled dash cams will turn off the Wifi every time the Dash cam is turned off (even if hardwired). GTRIGGER its only if someone hit my car correct? If someone touch my car , or pass in front of the camera its doesn't work correct? You preferred GTrigger than the 12 or 24 hours timelapse for what reason? I've just put my camera down, and was in a GTrigger or Timelapse dilemma.

Hi Koemgen2000! Correct, G-sensor for parking mode will only detect impacts. If you want to capture people passing or approaching the car then you want Motion detection. Hi!! I don’t know if you remember me but I asked a bunch of questions on your video of the akeeyo dash cam. Lol. So we ended up purchasing this REDTIGER 7fn. But I am having trouble with the dash cam not recording on parking mode. We already got it hardwired by professionals, (with the hardwiring kit for this specific product) but the parking mode time lapse and G sensor is not working. It is not recording. Any tips ?? We need major help.

Hi JC! If your cigarette lighter port turns off and on when you turn on and off you car, then the dash cam will come on and off with the car (so it will not drain you car battery, this is how mine is setup). And if your plug is always on even when the car is off, I use one of this ones amzn.to/3BofzJI to control the lighter port manually and ensure the dash cam turns off and not drain the car's battery. On the camera screen is the user name and password. You don’t connect your phone to it. You connect your ( red writing ) coding to your WiFi. This is your camera name. I had same issue. Find the WiFi name that it shows you in red on the camera screen when it’s on and recording. I hope I read you correctly.

I called and they said it only reaches 10 feet to have the app work appropriately. That makes it a no go if Ring has a subscription and can reach everywhere. Bummer, I know this Redtiger F7N is a way better camera but this is what is important to my daughter.
