I remember when i was rigby/Mordechai in my eaely working days, i always sided with the two growing up. But now, as an adult and the youngest manager on my team I fully understand Benson and appreciate him more

those benson focused episodes really hit hard and every episode after each other highlights how far he's come

Benson's a kind of squidward character. He gets more relatable the closer you get to his lifestyle and mature mindset

Reminds me when Benson was so pushed over the edge, he started crying. As a kid, I never gave a second thought about it. But now, as an adult looking back I feel really bad for the man. Had the world's two biggest slackers that were so lazy for park work, but somehow started a chain of events that would of destroyed the park, or even the world or timeliness in the matter, and when he finally cried at what they caused (I can't remember it too well that finally tipped him over) I just feel bad for the man now.

So the Audrey part actually was an inside joke with the team. There was an episode planned about Benson’s breakup, but it got scrapped, so they made the park guys think it never happened to fuck with Benson.

Benson tells them to mow the lawn and they somehow manage to rip a hole in the fabric of reality

I actually love the detail of Benson thinking all of his friends were part of his lengthy healing process, when they don't remember a thing. That's how it often works in real life. You think your closest friends did it all for you... But in the end, they just did it because you're a friend.

If they gave Benson literally fucking anything but a rock and gave them more depth that episode would be a top 20. That scene with Benson walking through the empty space city is a fucking mood man.

That one episode where Mordecai and Rigby provocated him because he couldnt fire them anymore made me feel him for the first time as a kid

I would KILL for a boss like Benson tbh. He's logical, understanding, knows how life works, and CARES! Something alot of bosses nowadays don't have.

There is a fan theory as to why Mordecai and Rigby don’t get fired. It’s because of all the damage they’ve caused to the park, and because of that, they have to keep working at the park to pay off all the damage.

Every good comedy needs a straight man to play off the bizarre characters. I think of Ben Wyatt (actually Adam Scott in everything he is in) in Parks and Rec or maybe Jeff Winger in Community. They are the normal people who have to deal with all the chaos around them which is just very funny! I mean eventually these characters always fall off the deep end, but usually the other characters will help to bring them up and show a mature moment.

Some of my favourite episodes are Benson focused ones. He brings a lot of emotion and realism to the group.

i actually dont think mordecai being directionless for most of the show is a detriment. i think it really amplifies that feeling of being angsty and aimless in your 20s that the show captured so well; that feeling that everyone around you is not only living life but succeeding. and there you are, forever stuck as an old teenager.

MY OPINION HAS FINALLY BEEN VALIDATED 😂 I was always the odd one out having Benson as my favorite character back then when all the others had Mordecai, Rigby or Skips I always sided witu Benson and I'm glad he's finally getting the respect he deserves

I rewatched the whole show again and without a doubt benson is the best character, he not just such a good boss. He cares about his employees like his family, he is the most loyal character when it comes to any problem and always gets looked down. He tries his hardest and never gives up, proving people wrong left and right even though nobody believes him. Benson has life problems just like everyone but he has one of the biggest hearts in cartoon history

I feel like with characters like Benson, you never truly do understand why they are the way they are until you get put into a similar position as them. Trying to manage a group of people can be difficult, especially if you don't have any experience.

I’ve always loved Benson, and you are 100% right about everything you said ,but Rigby’s growth in the later season easily made him my favorite. Every character grows in some way, but Rigby was the most admirable. I honestly learned from him for my own life

I've only just started the video, and I'm already vibing, can't believe there's not as much views/subs as I expected! I never caught on to the chicken wings/substance allegory, that's so interesting in retrospect! I really love Benson, at first just your run-of-the-mill boss/superior frustrated with your protagonists, as the show goes on, and the interactions have less friction, we get more introspection with his life and view, he's so good! + the candy machine design is so simple yet iconic

This was a great video. I remember watching Regular Show as a kid and I never watched through it when I was young. I finally watched through it as an adult and man it’s incredible. Benson is definitely one of my favorite characters.

The major issue is that Benson doesn’t have an outlet. Unfortunately, this idea of “keep yourself busy” has lead to many using work as an outlet from stress accumulated from work. Really, Benson needs a hobby more than anything else. I have found that for people that are control oriented, resource management games really work for them.

Benson wad always my favorite, and the I'm glad people are loving him moreso in their older ages. Heh. He's a good man in a tough situation. Even a scene where muscleman calls to check in, shows that, if you are a good employee, he'd actually be chill with you guys.

100% facts. I warched regular show again recently, which is why this was in my recommended. Benson help me through alot, i am so fed up with everything just like he is. I felt a deep connection with him, and my dream job is working at the park, just so i could be a friend to him. Hell id buy the wings. I was hopeful for myself after Benson found someone. I watched the show from start to finish with a friend in ~2022, and when Benson mentioned he broke up with Audrey, we completely forgot and had the exact same reactions as the crew and it was absolutely hilarious. But for real, those two really put this man through it, and the episode(s?) where we meet Benson’s family really put things in perspective on his anger problems which I really related to.

Every time I see a “worst cartoon bosses list” with benson on it, you can tell whoever made it never worked a job. Literally all he wanted was them just to do there rather simple job, and it’s showed that he gives the other workers long breaks because… they do there jobs. He’s honestly great boss, probably the greatest boss

This is why I love Regular show the older you get you get a different perspective of the show. I remember hating Benson when I was younger but as I get older I start to sympathize with him and understand him better

I was at my early teens watching this cartoon. I love how the show progresses as I grow old and learned a lot of lesson in every character arcs whether if it's about the responsibility, love or life in general even though it's too chaotic and weird.

Benson doesn’t have anger issues he has employee issues

Growing up is realizing Benson is a great guy. Even as a kid despite how I didn’t like his character, I truly felt awful when they made him cry. It was like how even though Squidward was the “bad” guy, I always understood him deep down. Benson represents that understanding of practical adult life so well. He just wants a simple life where everything works out. And yet he’s stuck cleaning up everybody else’s mess, because he’s committed and responsible. He strives for that ideal.

Benson kinda was one of my most favorites in a show since childhood. I related to him sometimes and understood him since he sometimes reminded me of myself and my mom .-.

I swear looking back at the show Mordecai and rigby would destroy the park with their shenanigans, start a nuclear war over a sandwich only for benson to tell them to clean their mess up instead of instantly firing them As a child you didn’t want a boss like benson but growing up you’d wish your boss was half as cool and good as benson was I won’t say beson was perfect he made some mistakes when he ate mordecai and rigbys burgers that’s only made every millennia(something like that) and when he got those monitors that mordecai and rigby had to wear to see if they’re not slacking which I can’t fully blame him considering the fact how incompetent mordecai and rigby are But apart from those 2 mistakes he does seem like a boss that truly cares and appreciates his employees

I love Benson even as a kid and I thought his anger Tantrums was comedic as a child but when I became an adult it just went full circle and I think Benson is one of the best characters written in cartoon history

I have loved benson since the show’s debut back when I was a teenager and the reason I love the guy is because the defense I feel for him is the same defense I have for my teachers. I was a teen who was relentlessly bullied and I am also a martial artist. I was bullied and had the power and means to fight back but I didn’t. For 4 reasons. 1. Fighting will make things worse. 2. I didn't want my teachers to think ill of me. 3. I am a martial artist but I didn't fight because even though I am the victim my family won't lift a finger to help me and say that it was my fault; I didn't want to deal with my family's Haitian mindsets always jumping to conclusions. And finally 4. I didn't want to jeopardize my teacher's jobs. It's a teacher's job to make sure that the students aren't in any fights and to maintain control of the situation. If there is a fight, the teacher will be held responsible. I didn't want to put my teacher's job in jeopardy just because I wanted to fight back to make myself feel better. Most teenagers may not care about the well being of their teachers but I do. Pay attention to reason number 4 because that is one of the reasons I side with Benson; if he gets into trouble it can mean his job is on the line; same way how I felt with my teachers. I don’t understand why people need to turn into adults to comprehend the fragile position Benson is in; it only common sense.

I always say this about regular show because I think it showcases exactly what the show was going for. Regular show was never really a show about crazy and absurd moments that were anything but regular, it was a show about people. People who have been hurt, people who are struggling, people who are trying to find their place in life, people who just want to be happy with themselves. When I came to that realization, it was during Benson’s freak out in the broken cart episode. Regular show really does make an effort to show that underneath the absurdity, these are normal people working a normal job

benson was always a reminder what could be if you don't take life seriously, not that theres nothing bad with that. But know you can always strive for more

Regular show fans are starting to like benson more because we're adults who've been in the work force for years now. Seeing Benson as someone who aims to do his best and forgives others even when they blatantly aimed to fail makes him extremely likable, considering how rare a boss like that is

As kids we liked Mordecai and Rigby but as adults we understood and loved Benson

Basically just said everything I have been saying for years now. Even as a kid I always had an appreciation for the sheer lengths benson would go through for his employees and let’s face it his friends.

I’ll never forget in the episode where Mordecai, Rigby and Benson go to replace the golf cart that they totalled and Benson went on that rant about how their actions have consequences that affect others. Truly hits your soul.

i remember when i worked at a clothing store as a duty manager, i had workers just like mordecai and rigby. i was barley 18 and my workers were still in highschool, so i could connect and relate to them but we were on different levels of maturity. it was always such a hassle trying to get them to do simple tasks lol. thinking about it now i was way too chill with them😭 i let them be on their phones when no one was in store (we had a strict no phone while working policy), we didn’t have delegated breaks i let anyone go whenever for however long, and i might’ve let them steal a few clothing items too. because i treated them so good they did what i asked, eventually. but every bad thing they did would reflect on me and my management, so i now understand bensons frustration

Regular show is one of the best cartoons ever. It is outlandish and entertaining but very real at the same time.
