Interesting approach that'll appeal to some. However, for me FSLTL wins it. Live traffic based on flightradar24 is more interesting, and they have a 'radius around you' approach to traffic generation which means diverting somewhere else always reveals the traffic at somewhere other than your destination. This also works better for me, as often I'll pootle around, or realise I'm out of time and need to end a flight early and go land somewhere else.
Live traffic is great, agreed! With FS Traffic the system still is essentially a radius system bar the fact you need to select a destination. If you divert you can simply select a different destination.
They all have there pro’s and cons. When I have time to fly is msfs. There i not much real life traffic. So FS Traffic would be a nice option. AIG is very slow and difficult to keep up to date.
@@Patrick_AV dont buy it . all videos show only when you spown at the airport . i tried several times to work with FS traffic . all works fine but worse then fsltl . FSLTL is much better for now . for that price i will compare this do e175 and early access . EPIC Fail . Its looks like early access . Even if you dony have much time to fly FSLTL is much better then this crap .
@@michakwiatkowski4527 I disagree. FSLTL isn't super bad, but for me it eats up frames more FS Traffic. Not only that, but the injector seems to inject static aircraft from all regions regardless of wherever I am. I tested FSLTL recently at Taipei Intl and even though I'm no flying expert, I'm pretty sure JetBlue and HOP by Air France don't fly to that airport lol. Any time I've used FS traffic, it always places proper aircraft and airlines at their respective airports.
It does eat up more frames but by default it also injects far more aircraft. You can change this in your injector settings. I haven't had any issues with the wrong planes at the wrong airport with FSLTL, it's certainly not designed to do that. All I can think is that there may have been some missed steps in the setup, eg. Ground aircraft density not at 0
Offline flight plans that you can edit and create... yes please. Been waiting for this ability since launch. Creating custom flight plans offline was a game changer back in FSX/P3D for folks like me that edit airports.
Odd that there seems to be no flare before touchdown. JustFlights GlobalTraffic for XP does that well and it makes a huge difference imo. Hopefully a feature that can be added 19:40
I believe that one is Asobo, not Just Flight, FSTL or AIG behave the same way, Asobo has a tremendous ToDo list regarding AI Traffic...but I guess their primary focus is adding PoI or things like that for now.
Haha the only way this will be worth money and more necessary than FSLTL is if corrects and improves the default AI Traffic behavior with no go arounds and stuff
Im still sad we don’t get proper takeoff and landing animations….looks so dumb at 17:48. I know it’s an Asobo limitation but I still had hope FS Traffic would change that.
Yup, for the price of it, I'll 100% be sticking with FSLTL for the long term I reckon... No need to spend so much money, for something you can get for free thats almost identical...
Subperb vídeo. I only hope ASOBO feels some pressure with this release and improve the simulators AI Traffic behavior. It's such an immersion breaker those low level flying, and long time taxing, and take long time to roll... And on and on and on
Had an AI plane land yesterday on a parallel RWY and then suddenly do a 90 degree turn and barrel its way across my RWY and on to oblivion I guess... Needs to surely be fixed.
In this video you show the FPS difference but in your FSLTL video you don't. What is the difference in performance hit in FSLTL so we're able to compare the two?
One pretty daunting issue I found was upon installation, the .exe files (especially the one that wasn't the "fleet" one), took forever to install-- like around 12 hours! The other one that said "fleet", about 1 hour. What's more the blue progress bar did not give you percentage of progress, nor did it tell you what it was doing while doing it; so, I had no idea if the .exe had hung-up on me or not. What's more, the progress bar has no outlined frame, so you can't tell how long it is... all you can see is the part that is elapsed. However, once it was all loaded and I followed the instructions, it ironically worked as it was supposed to-- minus the empty arrival airport and the planes in the wrong gates. I attribute that to the newness of the program and assume they will get that fixed up soon enough. What's ironic is I've heard lots of people complain about the accuracy of the program and how it works, but apparently, I'm the only one who has complained about the .exe installs? So hard to believe that nobody else had my problem. Goes to show we each have our own crosses to bear, when it comes to installing and running new programs.
Certainly does! I think the install took around 5 mins for me? I suppose it will depend on the type of drive potentially as there are many small files. The design of the installer is the same as all just flight products. I don't know many that give you a % these days! Regarding the arrival airport, did you set your destination in the module per the quick start guide? Traffic in the wrong gates is also covered in the FAQ in the manual, too.
Released shortly after this video. Really enjoy it. Only issue I have found is, with traffic set to 100%, approach spacing is really bad. Planes are on top of each other. Constant go arounds. I set traffic to 50%, and seems much more realistic.
Bit hard for me to justify $40 when there is no improvement to the AI behavior (still no flare, only straight pushback etc) when there are great freeware products like FSLTL and AIFlow/AIGround (who can improve the AI, but a payware can't?)
That's a fair comment. In my view it comes down to different developers and priorities. The lack of commerical pressure in a freeware project will play into this too. That being said, I've not noticed an enormous difference in the AI behaviour in FS traffic when compared to FSLTL. I've not used AIG offline in quite some time.
Great video detailing features of the mod! Completely unrelated...I had to grin at seeing the Singapore A350 9V-SML...I got a photo of that very aircraft a few years ago while spotting at Manchester
The models look insane, but I really want to know the performance between this and FSLTL, which has been out for a while and looks amazing with decent performance
There are two things I would trade for some of the bonus features of this addon: Airlines spawning at their correct terminals and GA representation. I have never cared about devs spending time mimicking real world schedules, implementing heat blurs, or having authentic audio. In fact, planes can disappear at 10,000 ft for all I care....I just want authentic ground traffic so the airports are less shit.
I think JF have added to our enjoyment by specializing in ai traffic simulation depending on you’re time and date of flight. FSLTL excels at providing ai traffic based on real time FlightRadar24 readings, regardless of you’re sim time and date. Sometimes I only have time to fly a favourite airport and plan when there would be little to no real time traffic.
As Darthwayner commented that will likely be some of the reason they chose to go this route. On top of that a live traffic system already exists within in the sim which is compatible with the FS Traffic models so perhaps that also contributed. I believe FS Traffic has always been an offline product, however.
Wish native real-time traffic injection was tested too, paired with aircraft models from aig/fsltl/fstraffic. Maybe an idea for a future video, to see if this is all because of the models, or injector itself matters too.
Have you tried a reinstall? Since release I've had this happen a couple of times and a reinstall fixed it. Another easy thing to try is restarting your computer a couple of times. Sounds bizarre but actually worked for me one time I had an issue similar to this.

Hello. Thanks for the video. I'm curious, does it work with small airports as well? Or just bigger regional and International airports? I find some of the other Traffic addons only focus on the bigger airports. Thanks
FSLTL …not to nitpick, but I dislike that your see many aircrafts that would never be at specific airports. Also not having to running a program outside of FS maybe have its benefits too
A lot of this is down to the scenery developers to put the correct airline codes on the right gates. Arrival and departure traffic is based on live data in FSLTL.
I found this in the FS Traffic Manual: Why does cruise traffic not communicate with ATC? In order for cruise traffic to be present in FS Traffic, it has to be generated in such a way that makes ATC interaction not possible for these aircraft. Unfortunately this workaround is caused by a limitation of the default MSFS cruise traffic. Well, I could hear cruise aircrafts communicate with ATC with AIG and FSTL, so why on earth isn"t this possible with FS Traffic? Flying silent over Europe? Not for me!
thank you for a great overview video, I've been eagerly awaiting this product release. I hope to see some more in depth performance comparisons between this and FSLTL in the days to come but I do have a few questions: 1. does FS Traffic only inject ground traffic at the origin and destination airports (i.e. if I fly over airports along the way they won't have any traffic?). 2. just to be clear, using the historical flightplan data, if I change the time of day in the sim I will get traffic based on that time of day (currently with FSLTL when I fly somewhere but it's really nighttime there I only get parked planes but no traffic, assuming since it's using real time data)? 3. Are there any future plans for interaction with offline ATC's like Piolt2ATC? Thank you.
Hey Lior, thanks! 1) Yes, 2) Yes but I'd recommend changing the time before you load into a flight, 3) I'm not sure on that one - perhaps one for the JF forums.
Thank you so much for your overview of this new add-on, the level of detail on the planes is amazing. Looking forward to your detailed review of this. Your sim graphics are so crisp and sharp, do u use any grraphics mod? Will you share your current grraphics setttings please? Thanks a lot!
Excellent Video mate! As anybody experienced CTD when hitting "Ready To Fly"? If so, has anyone found a solution for this? It looks great but so far not working from my experience :(
Thanks dude! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Do you have Flight Control Replay? I know their in sim module conflicts with this at the moment. Otherwise, best thing to do is empty your community folder and re add until you find the culprit as this definitely does sound like a conflict of some kind!
@@BobbyFuzzy thanks for the reply mate yes I do have flight control replay… tomorrow I will try uninstalling that and re installing FS Traffic…. I will let you know how it goes in the hope in can help someone else. Cheers!
With every "Traffic Add-on" released over the years my biggest concern every time is traffic separation on landings and takeoffs... Nothing more annoying than watching every other AI Landing turn into a go-around situation because the other traffic won't get off the runway...
Since I have to keep FSLTL installed to see the vast majority of the airplanes at my main airport (757s & 767s) I might as well just stick with FSLTL and save the disk space and money.
I wish these models would flare and also rotate properly. That is a big buzz kill for me. But that's probably an MSFS thing. Everything else looks similar to FSLTL really.
Great video @BobbyFuzzy! I see that in some of your clips, you are following a specific AI aircraft. Does FS Traffic then have a "follow me" option wherein you can just simply follow an AI plane with the camera?
Hey Benix, thanks! 🙂 No it doesn't - I got those clips using the dev mode SimObject debugger. If you're interested in how to I cover it here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jJSyJ9az8vk.html
In terms of VATSIM model matching, I heard you say it has 700+ liveries, but in terms of the type of models does it rival FSLTL? Right now I have vmr files stacked in vPilot so it looks to FSLTL first, then AIG for matching. Would you recommend this to compliment those, and if so have FS Traffic at the top of the priority list? Thanks for the video!
If you're using multiple packages yeah for sure you could do that. The default FS Traffic VMR does have a bunch of fallbacks in it though so in some cases you may find it doesn't use anything lower down the list if you put it at the top. You'd need to go into the model matching section in the traffic controller and have a play around with that to make sure you leave some 'holes' for the other VMRs to pick up on.
@@BobbyFuzzy Ah ok cool, thanks for that! Also, just found their list of included aircraft on their website...it was in a menu I hadn't unfolded! Thanks again!
@@BobbyFuzzy sky broadband and all other providers ain’t got anything rolled out in my area best upload speed 1mbps looked at star link 75 quid a month 😂 so much for uk gov on providing quality internet everywhere
Have been waiting for this for so long. Installed as per video instructions including MSFS Traffic settings. Two major issues. 1. Spawned into EGLL - nothing, airport empty, Tried EGKK - same. 2. Cannot get back to menu after End Flight - just hangs - have to close FS programme via Task Manager. Will uninstall and go back to FSLTL until issues being reported get fixed. As a post edit. Reinstalled twice and finally got traffic to spawn at EGKK. However flights are not referred to by their airline name. Aircraft request IFR clearance and then nothing. Just a load of static aircraft with nothing moving - plus still have the issue of not being able to return to main menu without closing MSFS via task manager. What an anti climax this was.
@@BobbyFuzzy Hi thanks for the reply and Yes - but talk about confusing. For aircraft to move on the ground the manual FAQ states - Why are no aircraft pushing back from the gates? AI aircraft in MSFS require a pushback tug to push back from the gate. Pushback tugs will not spawn in MSFS unless the AIRPORT VEHICLE DENSITY slider is set somewhere between 1 and 100. This slider can be found in MSFS by navigating to Options > General Options > Traffic However the recommended settings for ground vehicles as per the manual and instruction video is to have this set at 1? If you do increase it to anything above zero - no traffic spawns at all
@@BobbyFuzzy Having been through the entire manual twice I finally got some traffic to spawn at EGKK - 3 Easy Jet aircraft and that was it even set at 100% default. But again no movements, landings etc., so have uninstalled and gone back to FSLTL as something very wrong with this which is such a shame as I really wanted it to work.
@@jimbojames6401 That is really quite strange. I haven't had any issues at Gatwick, if you've been through the manual there's not that much else I can suggest except speaking JF support.
The models will work with the stock live traffic system if you'd like that as an option! That being said FS Traffic is an offline product as it stands.
Great Video and Thank You. Can I assume that you did not have to remove the FSTL(AIG) application? I was wondering if it there would be duplicate ai craft or routes.
I think it's a matter of personal preference - FSLTL = more traffic, liveries, models, online only. FS Traffic = less traffic, offline flight plans + customisation
Thanks, Anthony! Glad you enjoyed. You need to use devmode - then Options > SimObjects. Expand the 'AIRPLANE' section. Tick names and you will need to then find the numeric identifier related to the flight you want to follow using the drone cam. Scroll down to that aircraft in the list and then expand that one, then click the view button next to it. Also see: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jJSyJ9az8vk.html
@@BobbyFuzzy thank you very much explaining! I've always wondered how people do that and it's quite annoying that it's not as easy as in FSX for example. I hope asobo changes this once they fixed AI traffic in general. Thanks again!
Content looks great but it's unwatchable for me with the sound on because of the cod-pilot narration. It's such a shame. I wish you all the best, though.
For the price, right now its 100% does not look like the investment, looks no better then the Freeware Traffic addon through FlyByWire downloader.... Was so excited before learning about the one on FBW recently, now I'm just gonna wait before even thinking about buying it...
It's definitely a difficult one to justify at the moment especially considering the state of AI in the sim at the moment and the great freeware offerings.
Thanks so much for this video. By reading the Just Flight announcements I thought FS Traffic will be the first ai traffic addon to work completely independent from the limitations caused by Asobo. But now i'm a little bit concerned, because you say that there are still some limitations left. After the latest sim update I had nearly no landing traffic with FSLTL or AIG. Will this work better with FS Traffic ? Which limitations will affect FS Traffic as well ?
It's a pleasure! FS Traffic isn't working independently - it still uses the AI system in the sim as other addons do. The quirks I refer to are things like frequent go-arounds due to poor spacing handling by the sim, slow rollouts, landing behaviour and sometimes odd taxi behaviour. These are still present with FS Traffic but Just Flight and other devs are pushing Asobo to do something about this. Perhaps now there is commercial option which integrates with the sim more directly, this might amp up the pressure a bit 🤞 You will see landing traffic with FS Traffic as you can see at 01:19
This traffic is not following the real life patterns happening at my airport. In phoenix it's showing departures to the west when in reality when checking flightradar24 the departures are to the east at the moment.
Hey! I got a little question : how to get more traffic at the arrival airport? 🙏🙏🙏 For example, when I land at an airport, there are only few aircrafts which is kinda noisy when I am at big airports such as EHAM or KATL... Do you know any setting to change that?
FS Traffic can be a bit fickle with arriving traffic I've found but theres a couple things you can adjust; (1) traffic density using the in game panel and (2) in the FS Traffic Control Centre, in Options, increase the 'Time Vefore Departure Value (Mins)'. Hope that helps!
I suppose theoretically it is. You would need to be familiar with the mod creation process though as it wouldn't be as simple as adding in a texture, I imagine. That being, said there is no paintkit for FS Traffic as far as I know.
@@BobbyFuzzy aha. i see, but its the texture painting which is hard, right? Is it still possible to for example create a custom route, with a custom airline code assigned to it, and then make an aircraft fly that route?
Thank you for the video! Do you know how accurate the models takeoff from active runways? The issue with FSLTL is traffics normally takeoff from completely wrong runways. Although, I heard this is an issue with MSFS but not sure how does FS Traffic work in this regards.
I think even fstraffic will not correct this problem because it is based on the basic injection system of asobo as with fsltl and aig from what I understand.
Emanuels comment is correct - this is a sim issue as the sim will always put the active runway as the one with the most HW component, regardless of other operational factors.
@@BobbyFuzzy I wish putting the runway with the most headwind component was the case. It has happened a lot for me when the traffics in FSLTL were taking off from the runway with the most TW component actually! Completely different from the runway suggested in simbrief or flightradar. In Amsterdam with a couple of unparalleled runways, I’ve almost never seen a traffic taking off from a make sense runway.
Looks great, I'm a bit confused about the combination wit GSX Pro. Do I have to disable GSX in the FS Traffic settings? I like to use both, preferably they interact with each other at the airfields
I would personally look at reducing your ground services in the FS Traffic Control Centre if you want to run GSX. Especially if you are using high detail large airport addons otherwise you may run into the issues I described.
@@BobbyFuzzy Thanks for the answer, so the combination of GSX and FS Traffic is possible. Just for my information, does reducing ground services in the FS Traffic Control Centre affect FS AI generated traffic only, or both FS & GSX? and what would be a good number in the FS Traffic Control Centre settings to get FS Traffic & GSX working reasonably good (now running general 30FPS on i9 RTX3080 in 2k on 3 Monitors at mix high/medium settings)
It depends how you mean by combine... Air Transat is not actually on there! You can see the full list here - www.justflight.com/product/fs-traffic-microsoft-flight-simulator
does the 'time before departure' effect the amount of airlines at the arrival airport when you get there? Every time I arrive (usually a 1-2 hour flight) I either see 3-6 planes or nothing at all... and I'm landing at JFK and Logan. I feel like I should be setting time before departure in the thousands to show more aircraft at arrival airport 1-2 hours after departing
I tried adding some of the FSLTL aircraft (75/76s, E175s, etc,) and when they load in the textures are all messed up (vertical stabilizer paint on fuselage, engine textures, on tail, etc). I can’t for the life of me figure out why it’s happening. I did have good luck creating new routes for flights I felt are missing though and adding flight plan routes to some of them!
@@BobbyFuzzy Yeah I found out I added the AIG models instead of the FSLTL models. The FSLTL models work great, but not so much with the AIG models so far.
Been messing around with it for the past two hours now and just cannot get any traffic generating. Gone through the entire manual in case I missed anything, I've tried reinstalling it - twice. I've gone into the Traffic Control Center and even turned off all ground services for them and still won't load. As of writing this message I can now hear an aircraft, a singular aircraft, I just can't see it...at this point I'm lost and feel like I've just thrown money away. Not sure what to do now...
If you can hear it but can't see it that alludes to an issue with hitting the simobject limit I was talking about in the video - I'd personally double check your ground services config in the control centre (note that you need to restart the sim if you make any changes here).
@@BobbyFuzzy Already done this and unfortunately not working, even disabled every individual ground service in the control centre and still can only hear and not see. PC specs won’t be an issue with it and LOD shouldn’t be an issue as it doesn’t work even at default airports (tested out the default scenery at Edinburgh as I know I never fly there). I suppose I’ll just wait for a fix?
Having just installed FS Traffic, upon spawning into an airport, although it generates static aircraft on the ground I am not seeing any moving AI traffic. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
2 things - these videos were recorded on a pre release build and in many cases it takes a good 5-10 mins for traffic to start flowing 'normally' after the initial load in - to save on time whilst making this video I couldn't wait this long every single time I wanted to record a 5 second clip. Look at the time lapse from Munich in the video and you can see more traffic on the taxi.
On approach/departure as long as you are using the MSFS ATC they should keep some separation to you. That being said the MSFS AI system isn't perfect and there may be some times when this doesn't happen! Unfortunately a limitation of the sim.
Check out the FAQ in the manual and you will find the answers to both those questions 🙂 But in short to answer your questions (1) maybe, depending on airport and (2) try waiting a little while
@@BobbyFuzzy thx, also last question, why when i changed time before departure value to 240 all planes disappear, and when i set it to 5 there are just any planes in airport, and when i set to 90, there are good amount of planes, like what "time before departure value" do and how to make it more planes spawn in airport and make them take off very often like every 5 minutes? also where can i find FAQ?
@@Windrose8Max FAQ in the manual - downloads.justflight.com/products/JFF003616/FSTraffic_MSFS_manual.pdf Time before departure value is as it sounds - the amount of aircraft that will spawn based in minutes before it's departure time as per the schedule as set in the FS Traffic Control Centre. The number of departing aircraft you see is also based on this schedule. If you set the figure very high you may find aircraft are invisible due to the issues regarding the object count in the sim, similar to setting up with GSX and/or large payware airports.
FCR, PMS GTN750, Toolbar Pushback. Easy method - move everything from your community folder into a temp folder, test, then start readding assuming no more CTD's.
Is the stacking up of AI planes at one location at the original airport on a return flight resolved with this? Currently all AI systems including MSFS’s own AI traffic have this issue!
Have you tried tweaking your graphics settings? Running with nothing but FS traffic in your community folder? Under what condition does the CTDs occur?
Just down loaded this and following your quick start guide all i get is default aircraft. Also i can't find the manual. Only one icon appears and when i click it a message appears its already running.
Restart your PC, open the traffic control centre and try the manual again, should work fine. Otherwise there's a link in the description of this video to the manual. The FS Traffic injector won't inject any default aircraft, double check you've gone through the quick start guide steps properly is what I'd suggest first 😊
@@BobbyFuzzy Thanks for the reply The control center icon appears on my desktop but i click on it iget a message. Already running Nothing happens. I tried running as administrator but nothing.
I purchased this and set everything according to installation instructions and your video and several others. When I go up to the MSFS Toolbar and select FS Traffic, I put it the destination, hit confirm but it never injects any traffic. I've tried it at KDFW and there should be ton's of traffic there. I've hit remove traffic and regenerate traffic but still no traffic injects. Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong? Thanks for any help and by the way, great video!
