Punishment for your bad behaviour is not abuse. Shunning is necessary to discipling people. What do you think men go through in the Catholic church and prison system? They are shunned except in their case they are shunned when they have not committed crimes whereas with the JWs you are shunned when you have committed crimes. It makes complete sense. You're only saying it's abuse because you're on the receiving end of it. When you do it to other people you say "they deserve it". Well they think you deserve it. I don't see the problem here?

Also, under whose authority do they have the right to judge and punish anyone? And if that were the case, why is child abuse rampant in the congregations? Why are those people not being "punished?" The whole concept is ludicrous. But yes, my family is free to cut me off, that's their decision. But it does kind of matter when that decision is based upon lies and deception.
@@Spread_Hope_Like_Fire You spoke ill of them to the public. That goes against their rules. They shun you as a method of punishment. Shunning is an appropriate disciplinary tool to change a child's behaviour. When they temper tantrum at the grocery store you should ignore them and not give them what they want. So the disciplinary method is appropriate and they deem that it fits the crime. That's there decision to make. If you don't like it that's ok but the relationship has broken down to the extent that it needs to break off completely because they aren't willing to give in or change their rules and beliefs and you aren't willing to give in and change your rules and beliefs. You are free to socialise with who you want to and many people will accept you for the way you are. You just need to find those people. I've heard about the child abuse too and I'm not dismissing it as true or false but your words alone aren't enough. In life you need to learn that you need evidence of the crime. Why should I believe you, a complete stranger who could have a motif to frame someone else for a crime? It's nothing personal but this is the way it has to be so long as privacy corrupts our world. The problem is privacy. It always comes back to privacy! Also, speaking ill of your community and work place publicly is obviously a punishable offense as it diminishes their social reputation. Trying to manipulate someone into becoming a reject is literally the same as an act of war because rejects cannot survive. That's why they reject you. I've been through the full rites of passage with bullying and abuse. Trust me, it will help you with future relationships.
@@williamlevy6964 Actually I spoke the truth of what was going on regarding a very real case involving very real people in which the governing body themselves testify and totally expose themselves for who they really are on camera for the world to see and if that is "speaking ill" then you should ask yourself why the truth makes them look so bad? My own mother was molested by someone in the congregation her entire childhood and she was one of many of his victims. He never stopped until he died. All hidden away and swept under the rug. No way I can prove that to you but I don't need to. I have seen firsthand what this organization does about child abuse and what it does to destroy families. Family should be ABOVE fitting in, cultural expectations, or religion and anyone with sense would argue that family should be the one thing that nothing on earth can break apart. It is supposed to be the ultimate tribe where one can always be safe and feel welcome but this organization destroys that beautiful arrangement God intended because they fear exposure and questioning. REAL truth fears no level of investigation, my friend! Also, you know I believe if we have knowledge of evil and lies, it is our duty to spread truth in this world to warn others and protect the people we love from falling prey to that. I would argue if you don't do that just in order to protect some status quo then with respect, you are part of the problem. So, I'll keep speaking truth to prevent innocent people from ever joining, at least, and at best, to free those who are still hypnotized but are smart enough to seek out the answers to their questions. I "faded" around 23-24. Took my one year old baby and left the state, the religion and an abusive marriage. My family talked to me (down to mostly) for years. My dad passed away over 15 years ago. He was the only "unconditional" love I had from my family. A little over 6 years ago I had a heated conversation with my mom and I brought up the Australian Royal Commission (I watched every second in real time) and that was the last day my mom and sister (only JW's in at this point) ever spoke to me. It's sad. Esp for my oldest son who just wants family for his children. But, I will live my life in truth and authenticity. Those who cannot handle that...oh well. I wasted too many years trying to please them when I knew it was wrong. I am so sorry you are experiencing the sadness. My"current" husband and I celebrate 25 years this month. We have two beautiful grand daughters and a 17 year old son as well. Life is so good! I kindof miss my family (long story), but I would never trade my peace again.
Right on, that's amazing and I'm glad you got out! It is sad missing family but at the end of the day if they want to choose lies and brainwashing over having relationships with their flesh and blood that's on them. All we can do is remain open and pray for them and send them love. The ACTUAL truth is worth any losses we experience because otherwise we live a lie 💝 Much love✌️
I like your comment that you would "live your life in truth and authenticity". That expresses my belief too. I became a JW and stayed with them for almost 50 years because I am a lover of truth. But after the internet and social media started exposing their hypocrisy and lies about 5-7 years ago; I realized like so many thousands of ex-JW's that I won't compromise truth and authenticity for an organization! Jesus told us to love God's word, not men's. John 17: 17
You are right that shunning is evil when it comes to family relationship I am experiencing that with my daughter and my three granddaughters that haven't seen for nine years 💔

That’s a really good point you make about forgiveness. When people become believers they are in a completely different state to knowers. The meaning is in the word. Be-lie-ver… to be means exist in … a lie is an intentional untruth… from French the word ver means to cover. Great video ❤
i'm very proud of you very few actually figure it out like you have. I left when I was 14 years old. I have been on my own my whole life no family contact. I raised five beautiful children, and my family has never even met them. What a shame at least my children did not have to grow up like I did, don't ever give up keep putting out videos. I like hearing what you have to say.❤
I feel your pain. You are loved by fellow believers. I am glad I heard your story. It is one thing to be disfellowshipped, but to shun after that is an abomination to God. Be glad you are no longer captive to the false prophet. Be glad that Jesus knows your heart and will restore your spirit to himself. The Holy Spirit will restore you. There is abundant life in Christ after the cult. Focus on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and previous injuries will fade to nothing.

Thank you for making this video. I was unceremoniously done dirty by the organization in 2011. And I cannot tell you the pain of watching everyone you thought followed the WT and 'would rather die than displease Jehovah (by not following the scriptures)' do an about-face and ignore the bible and all scriptures and wt articles, seeing ones you loved and elders you trusted flip flop and reveal their true selves is a horrific experience. I lost my wife, my 3 kids, and it was ok for her to lie since her father was an elder. It can only be explained as 😈. I need to tell more people about it but I don't even know where to begin. Making a video is probably the best way, and of course connecting with others. This is a systematic pattern (among other crimes the society is hiding), and most countries recognize all this organization does is break up families while force shaming and guilt tripping everyone into compliance 😠Seeing so many others here on YT gives me the courage to assemble my thoughts. Just know YOU are not alone, and you are also encouraging others with your testimony here 🙏✨💗💓💗✨

hello! I'm 14 and my parents are JWs. I really want to leave but it really sucks when you cant talk to your mom or dad anymore. They also want me to marry some girl and I'm pretty sure her parents are on board with it too. I'm very torn as to what I should do, Leave and be happy without talking to my parents, or stay and be miserable for the rest of my life.
That's a tough situation and I feel for you. Personally, I believe the pursuit of truth and living your life based on what you know to be right is the obvious path, regardless of the consequences. If you ignore what you know to be the right thing just to win relationships or favor with people you will always regret it and be a slave to those people. They will still probably end up hating you in the end anyway or turn on you the moment you question things. I can't tell you what to do but I think you already know what needs to happen. Pray to God the Father, and you will get your answer.

I commend you for your speaking out against what has happened to the JW organization. I know; as a former ministerial servant and elder for 26 years, traveling speaker, Bethelite, and active publisher for over 55 years. I woke up to the manipulation by elders and the governing body when the pandemic arrived in 2020. The whole organization showed themselves to be brain dead puppets worshipping men instead of God. And I was kicked out over the personal judgements and opinions of 3 moron elders who like their power and control. It’s hard, sweetheart, to start a new life and social circle , but it will be easier for you as a young person than for me a 65 year old! May you make Jehovah your stronghold every day; he will provide the power beyond what is normal for you if you still want to serve him. You don’t need an organization to do so. There is nothing more in direct contrast to spreading the gospel and loving your neighbour than to shun someone. I am glad you got out but feel sorry for you for what you going through. I did not get along well with my family but at least there were times we spoke. For your parents to reach out to you and tell you that you are not their daughter anymore says a lot more about them and how corrupt this cult have made them, I mean what kind of a person does that and then they think that some sort of God are going to reward and glorify them after they've done something like that. A person's mind and especially their soul has to be totally empty to think this way.

Even if you just tell them you have to take a break for health reasons and then fade out. You're serving a prison sentence in that place and life is meant to be lived freely. Freedom is worth it ☺️ Another option if you feel you cannot leave is to do undercover work exposing them, if you absolutely cannot get out at this time. At least that way you can help others to see the real truth and try to wake up others who are PIMI. Having a purpose will help to ease the depression too. Just my two cents, obviously I don't know your personal situation. Either way, I hope you take care of yourself. As someone who has many many years of experience suffering with deep depression I know how it feels to be in that place and it's just not worth it. I,m a Atheist and I have many Christian friends who never shun me ,we just don't let our differences of opinion divide us and avoid the subject of religion. I dissociated 6 years ago from the Watchtower Cult aged 57. I even have 2 Moslem friends who don't shun me , like my JW family. Justin Porter ex jw ❤️.
Telling, isn't it? The JWs don't HAVE to shun according to the Shepherd the flock elders book, yet many choose to. Probably because they don't wanna be soft-shunned and lose their privileges. We can love and forgive them from afar. They chose to hate us and go with fear instead of love.
I understand you're feelings. I too have experienced hardships amongst the Jehovah's witnesses, the organization and what I have learned in the last 74 years of my life. That what is stated? At Matthew 1324 through 30. Yes, there is so much horrible things. Taking place amongst God's pso. We have to be patient until Jehovah's time takes. Arrives, but whatever you do, don't lose sight. Of what Isaiah 43 10th through 12 says. So take a look at those scriptures reason on them, but you are right. There are horrible things taking place among Scott's people. And it states also in the scriptures that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against wicked spirit forces. And there's where the trouble comes from. That's where our fights at and that's why we're told You have need of endurance. Something to think about..
I come from an extreme and oppressive religious background also. I have become agnostic after finding too many discrepancies and contradiction throughout all religions. I’m incredibly fortunate not to be shunned by my family. They disagree, but love and respect me. Even though they don’t agree, at the same time they somewhat admire my critical thinking. I can’t imagine being shunned. That’s almost equivalent to taking someone’s life.
That's amazing your family just agrees to disagree and continues to have a relationship with you. That's how it should be. Shunning is an attempt to break a person and force them to submit. Many people do commit s*icide because to us humans, abandonment and rejection are very much like a death sentence. If they really had the "truth" as JWs say they do (they literally refer to their religion as "the truth" behind closed doors), this would not be necessary because real truth can withstand any amount of scrutiny, investigation, or questioning.

Not even DF but SHUNNED! Me too! I just showed an old article from this org that stated the end can be 1967 to my jw sibling then she started shunning me! Something is extremely wrong with them!

I was adopted into by my mom and grew up with it, Im baptized and non practicing. From first hand experience not every congregation disfellowship their sinners and not every family shuns their disfellowshipped family members.

You were baptized you should know JW assimilation is a slow process of stripping you of your worldly habits and personality traits. Until all you have is the religion to turn to for happiness.
it's almost like I feel a debt to us sticking together despite having become pretty much an atheist who hasn't been involved with them in decades and wants no part in it just because I know well the hell they put ex jws through and was just lucky when we left mom went with us like it could have gone the other way and did for so many other families and it's just like i've not been involved for such a long time with the witnesses it's just a fading childhood memory at this point but I do get that given that they've turned their back on so many of us we just need to find the others and band together as that will give us some part of everything they tried to take from us back. When I was a kid my mom was involved, I really found them tooo strict and controlling but she found that they were not the hell fire and brimz stone that she was used to. part of why I even joined those ex jw support groups was just that I realize the value in community. if we band together we can negate the damage they're trying to do..

For a person that’s gone through that, u still look young for your age. For what it’s worth, I thought u were 25 🤷. Maybe it’s the ponytail. If I shave and put on a cap, I look young too.
There are many different denominations of Christianity and each of them has a slightly different interpretation of the Bible. Now that you are NOT a JW what interpretation of the Bible do you currently recommend? Also, do you think that the JW's are still a valid social/religious movement?
To be honest with you, JWs are nothing more than a cult plain and simple. They are def not valid in my eyes and they totally deny Jesus as being anything more than an Angel. I really advise you to visit JWfacts.com to find out all the doctrinal errors and false prophecies over the years. There are many. Please see some of my other videos too where I speak on that, especially the one about the Passover where they do a ritual of rejecting the wine and bread every year. As far as Bibles I read the king James Bible, although I have some issues with certain translation choices... specifically the use of the name Jehovah, which is not even God's name but a man-made name based on a freemason God called Jahbulon from my research. I wish they would just put YHVH instead of that name.

I'm sorry you're going through this I understand because I was disfellowshipped in 1996 my ex-wife was an eldest daughter who cheated on me 5 years into our marriage what's the Guy she work with at her job she divorced me and married him he was not a witness I was disfellowshipped because I started drinking because of the pain that she put me through she never was disfellowshipped because her dad the elder somehow kept her from being disfellowship. She hasn't been a witness in many years and I never went back I haven't been able to speak with my mother and sisters for almost 30 years but she's had a relationship with her mother and dad who are still witnesses which I don't find this Fair because she's the one that committed adultery. But I just wanted to let you know I understand it doesn't get easier trust me my mother's 83 years old my older sister is 65 my second sister is 62 I was the baby and time now 55

My dad used to be a JW before he died in 2016. My mother started going afterwards. She got baptized in rhis organization. Me im just a Christian i dont go to any church. I dont believe in the stuff JW teach. II just read the Bible on my own and pray to God to help me understand his word. Im not that close to my family but we occasionally see each other. Hopefully your family will open their eyes. Telling you you're not their daughter is messed up. Ill pray for you have yourself a good life. Sorry about your divorce hopefully you find someone else.

I used to meet with 2 jw so I can learn their teachings in order to make videos to refute them. They called it bible study. We never looked at the Bible once. It was always their pamphlet. Dead giveaway of a cult.
Ha! So true. People say JWs know their bibles but that's not true at all. They only know what's in their "literature" and are actually just too lazy to read the bible for themselves.
I’d say stay out of organized religion but be aware of the fact there are people like you still trapped in there so be careful when calling them all evil or “cold hearted” as some would put it.

Just fade and don’t say anything about the religion if you want to keep JW family. Let the law and governments deal with religions that have CSA and other unlawful abuses.
Jesus is the true way and the true light. Jesus wants people to follow and believe him only and a true born again Christian will be persecuted by everyone except those who love Jesus. Satan started many false religions and has deceived the whole world. One Lord one faith one Baptism and that's it. I was thrown out of the church because Jesus showed me the truth and only by fasting and prayers and reading the Bible and stop sinning can you ever find the truth because there is to many false teachers out there and only God can lead you to the right church. Church is not a building but God's people. Jesus said there is a hell and everyone who disobeys Jesus will be thrown into it. When people give prophecies and they don't come true it's because they are children of the devil because the devil is the father of all lies.
Hello, I am muslim. I think that everyone in life has to follow some discipline (cleaning, sleeping, eating correctly, exercicing, studying, etc), so in life one self is never able to escape discipline, on the contrary it can be positive, because imagine if you had no discipline with food = health descreases, no discipline with self cleaning, sleeping correlcty etc? result is deterioration. What I am trying to say is that "being liberated" from the "discipline" does not mean necessary being liberated; It can translate to actually being sIaved by your basic desires (eating a lot, not having regular scheduel for sleeping exercicing etc..). It's like opposite of feeling and being free. What I am trying to say is that if you think you are being liberated from reIgion, and religion is bad for that aspect (imposing you doing and not doing things) then you might be not correct about it. But imposing you to believe in something? That I will not. However I invite you to discover islam, search for people to reverted to islam, especially women and see yourself. Maybe you will find your peace there. Peace
Hi there thank you for watching my video. It's a little strange that you would assume I don't have discipline simply because I left a cult. I have discipline in many areas and would argue I have more than most people. I eat a Vegan diet and have for 8.5 years, study Japanese and Spanish, pray to God the Father daily, go to work each day, study piano, etc. So no, I haven't lost any of life's disciplines but have only gained since leaving the Jehovah's witnesses and now I worship God out of love and not some fearful duty. I never speak against religion in my video, I only highlight how abusive and cruel shunning a person who leaves one is. But if you're wondering if I'll go join another man-made religion, the answer is respectfully no thank you. Be blessed🙏
To be honest I watched like half of it (to get the gist of it) althought I should have watched it full to have a full opinion of course (no disrespect intended). I assumed you became athesit or something. If you believe in god truly then I AM genuinly glad. As for deciding if a religion is man mad (or if all of them are) well.. you should investigate and read the book of every religion then decide. I mean you dont lose anything by keeping an open mind. @@user-bj5nw6rw9i I continue to study and search for God every day. When I ask myself who benefits from me believing a certain teaching, that shows me a lot. Is it man or is it God? Is it my ego or is it God? Is it someone trying to control me or is it God? Does it make someone else (for example, a woman) out to be subhuman? Religion is sadly used either to control people or for people to feel better about themselves and feel like they have a purpose and to believe in something that explains this world. My goal is none of that but to please my heavenly Father, and if it means losing family and friends in pursuit of that truth, then I accept that. Most people aren't willing to give up their worldly comforts to that degree though.
The part about subhuman is the opposite actually. I can tell you one thing related to your questions: "O my people! Follow the messengers. Follow those who ask no reward of you, and are ˹rightly˺ guided.And why should I not worship the One Who has originated me, and to Whom you will be returned. How could I take besides Him other gods whose intercession would not be of any benefit to me, nor could they save me if the Most Compassionate intended to harm me?Indeed, I would then be clearly astray..." Surah Ya-Sin. So yeah you are right to ask what and who to follow. The answer is in this verse: follow those who don't ask money or any reward from you. Finally You should know that you cannot judge a religion by some people, be it any religion, any group, any social thing, learn it yourself then judge it yourself. Don't you feel "slaved" by the sight of others, having to be a certain style of hair and look to be "accepted" by others? In islam a woman is elevated from being a the object of desires of men (adertising products with their body) to a real woman = ak a real human that is respected regardless of her hair style or her makeup. @@shirleyprestidge4649 I have written them, and called, etc. etc. Have you ever been shunned? I am guessing not. Yes they are free to do what they want and I'm also free to talk about what I want. I am on RU-vid speaking about it because A. This is MY channel and B. this is happening across the world and people are hurting. People commit s*icide because of this. It's serious so I want others to know they are not alone because it hurts to lose your family to a cult. Personally I feel I'm better off not having toxic petty people in my life but that doesn't mean I don't love my family or that I don't miss them at times.
