Time travel to America's heartland in 1950s, one of the busiest intersections in downtown Tulsa Oklahoma. See classic automobiles and buses. Vintage advertising signs for long-gone businesses like Meadow Gold Dairy. Atlas Life. National Bank of Tulsa. Tulsa Transit
Colorized and enhanced footage is looking north on Boston Avenue at the corner of 6th Street. Not visible is Tulsa's tallest building, the BOk Tower, which was not yet built but would be seen in distance is this film was taken today. This shot would not be far from old Route 66 (11th Street)

Nice to see some downtown people bustle, but good gracious all of those cars. I assume I-244 and I-444 weren't around yet?

Interstate Highway Act came in 1956. HWY 66 was in place; it was replaced by I-44. I-244 came few decades later...

Must have been a mess. Easier to walk. Might arrive 5 minutes earlier.

I don’t think so. This film was before malls were built.

Tulsa is a lot more spread out now. Worst traffic is around 71st and Memorial. Madhouse out that way. Tulsa Hills area is wild too.

It's practically a ghost town compared to what you see in this video.
