Personally, I like seeing what a stock chainsaw can do. I could use a stock Redmax GZ5000 with a sharp chain to cut firewood all afternoon & be quite content. The new Echo line up is quite nice, too! In the past, I sort of liked the Jonsered/Redmax, Dolmar/Makita, & Echo line up. Less models to sort through. Sadly, only Echo is still standing going into 2023. I know one can always buy a Husky, but I really liked those red/black saws!
Very interesting how rpm isn't always your friend, without the right chain. I figured the thunder kitten surely had more than it displayed in the last video!
The Wemars got the full strength of the ThunderKitten. It was exactly the same tune as I was running in this video. I think. I'll go back and re-check.
@@novicelumberjack glad to see some of the Chinese saws still got it I have a wemars 6220 and my dad has a new poulan 5020 and the wemars is so much faster even with the 22 inch bar
Yeah, I just checked. At the end of the video, I state that I used the ThunderKittens best time. So that would have been tuned right at 15k rpm. So...yep, the Wemars is legit faster than the ThunderKitten. But...the Wemars is also ported and has 10 more cc. But pretty darn good showing for a $145 saw. I could even still increase the intake and carb setup on it. It's still running the stock setup.
@@novicelumberjack oh I noticed in that video with the newer yellow and black poulan 50cc the saw had a weird slow rise in rpm my dads saw doesn’t do that it’s also a bit slower than the wemars 62cc
