Wdym “RIP old techies”? Rest in peace? More like rest in piss, that hero was unique and gave some funny moments but was more often than not a complete menace to the server.
@@enzotansingco2199 man old blast off was lets say, retarded. Basically oneshot most of the roster at L1. And because he didnt have to be alive to be online, you just needed blink, a lot of mana. And then mine your base up. Afterwards just go out of your coom cave and blast off some poor support, you kill the support, the enemy gets nothing out of it. And you still get to keep going.
These videos are one of the best Dota content out there. Accurate, informative and really funny. And the guy with the pipe talking about it like a british aristocrat who came through a time portal. Just gold!
And in-case you guys didn't notice, that guy can trash talk you with 1000 words and not even a single swear-word. If you watch his stream where he goes rage mode, you can still see how intelligent that man is, the way he explains to his teammates how dumb they are. xD
When Dota 2 was still in early post-TI1 beta phase, there's a limited number of heroes in the pool. Then, most of these heroes are spellcasters. Unfortunately, one hero managed to take advantage on that. The old players will long remember that reign of terror: Anti-Mage a.k.a. Anti-Fun
What a miss for not having JerAx in the Earth Spirit commentary. He's the first pioneer player in Dota2 whom understood how broken Earth Spirit really was. Back then not many people knows how to play Earth Spirit well, which is why Earth Spirit was overlooked upon release.
I was there when Monkey king come out, everything was different at 7.00 patch, the New talent tree, map changes, new items and whoever used monkey king is just there farming rampages.
I will never forget a game when mk just came out. I was 6 slotted sniper and was 1 shot by boundless strike that wasn't even aimed at me. I couldn't believe my own eyes
yeah and i remember there is no extra 3 backpack slot soo i just farm jungle on my axe with my green boots on the ground and the chimp jump out and take my boots and he kills me
I remember back in the good old days. It took way too long for Omniknight to be added in Captain's Mode because of his Magic Immunity that lasted for 10 seconds with a very fast cooldown. That shit was broken. Also, the fountain hook(Ti1) and the PL with very tough illusions(Ti8) were memorable.
becuz the damage the lifesteal and chance from was INSANE back in the day she just doing jungle from lev 1 and boom 6 minute after that she has brown boots and dagger he destroy everyone after that
i would say Arc Warden release actually most broken hero . can use divine, refresher and 3 arc warden mingling around your map. Can use up 4 necro book. What a nostalgic.
I agree. I played vs a great Arc Warden player. That player would use illusions, blink and invis....and you would never know which one was real or even catch him.
Release day Monkey still most broken for me.. if he gets his jingu lvl1 u're insta dead.. plus his ult can use all attack modifiers.. it can cleave, it can bash, it can proc mjolnir, it was absolutely broken..
On release Jingu is the single most broken ability in the game its not even close. You can not lose trade under any circumstances, and you one shot squishy at lvl 2.
@@GranMaj brooo i remember that shit. Centaur was prolly more broken than any of the releases. U can't kill. Also all his abilities just stunned the opponents. Also his ult used to do i think thrice damage it does now. Same with his W And ofcourse u couldn't hit him. Hero was just on cocaine.
I'll never forget the 2 hour long dota games because someone played techies. If you saw that hero chosen you knew you weren't going anywhere for a long while
I heared Centaur Warrunner was broken at his release with perma stun murder, I wasn't active around that time. I do remember Abaddon mid diving 3 towers and no one stopping him 😂 I also remember when Antimgae jumps Dark Willow, you press D for Delete, and he is gone.
Kotl ! Remember when he had " Mana Leak ", that " Weakens an enemy's magical essence, causing them to lose mana as they move. If the enemy loses all of its mana, it will be stunned. " I want that back ! Aaah the good old days !
I've spent hours playing old techies. Stacking mines on top of each other in enemies secret shop area and waiting for courier to come just to kill it for the bait so all the enemy team would push you, was a mayhem. I loved it. Saying that, i love new techies also. Stacking 100 mines in the mid lane forest, getting yourself to low hp and baiting enemy team to rush you striaght into your mines, omg i always die laughing when i get rampage or ultra kill that way. The insta tips from oppposite team for that its so common. Patience is a key with this hero now.
My sentiments as well bro. Missed the old Techies but God damn this new Techies is sooooooo versatile. Dude can be a skill type with ET, and Blast-off/Proximity combo. Can be a hitter type with that long ass range. And can be a tank maxing 2nd, getting tank items, and rushing aghs scepter
@@drunkenwoodelf blue wards and gem does not always guarantee a win against a good techies player (especially with a techies that has aghs, force staff and teammates like Tiny, Magnus, Rubick or Venge). the main reason why the games take longer is because it feels like 4v5, techies's teammates can't push because techies is usually busy planting mines in their base and enemies are also scared to push because they don't know where the bombs are planted.
@@amantai8146 in old techies era there is no TALENT it was pure stat when u reach lev 19+ the skill 1 from techies will explode once u step on it not doing sound first and then explode
Anyone remember how when pudge came out you could hook Roshan to the (now "Dire") mid tower? Or remember how when Ursa came out it could solo Rosh at level 5 if he had a few shields? Or how Axe's lvl 4 DoT at release was high damage and indefinite until you kill a mob, so you just hit lvl 7 and start casting it on everyone and like always you'd get some free kills.
i had an issue that stayed for a long while when ever monkey king ult, my game rubber band few times until all clones get into position, desptie the FPS being fine.
I miss the old Techies. I miss that feeling when your teammates scream at you because they are playing a game for 2 hours. Bye Techies, forever gone but never forgotten.
Old Techies wasn't about being a nuisance who made 4v5 games that lasted for hours on end, it was about feigning being the bad guy so that 9 strangers could become close friends over the course of a trying fortnight.
It was definitely because of how normal MK nowadays. But there's definitely still mental trauma from that patch. Been playing MK support w/ just brown boots below Divine and a lot of player are still afraid of giving MK a full Jingu. Been chasing people off the lane at lvl 1 when they could literally just fight back since the damage isnt that big and lifesteal isnt that significant anymore
As someone that loved old techies, it really needed to be changed. What I would do was buy my items as fast as possible, teleport top if I was radiant or bot if I was dire, and there was a spot in lane that the creep wave would just barely walk passed, but was still the middle of the lane. Put down enough mines to one shot people before the first minion wave arrived, get first blood or maybe a double kill when they walk into lane, and then buy soul ring. It worked every single time. The old suicide was also really bad, because it let you do a ton of damage and deny yourself, giving them nothing and probably taking a lot from them. I would rule a lane 1v2 just running at the enemy players when they had the audacity to try to play the game correctly and have fun. After a while you got into late game, and after a point I would just go into the enemy secret shop and start mining it up, always getting 3+ kills minimum before they would just give up on it and try for ours. It was very fun for me, but I will be the first to admit it's a nightmare to play against and ruins the game for techies teammates.
Old Techies were the best, but assholes such as riki, viper, lion and sniper always seems fine and instead of nerfs, they get new ways to be even more annoying than before
Played old techies. Man remember when a mid rune was basically free just because techies was there? His old blast off was insane. If you're not a strength hero, shit would basically just oneshot.
People forget Phoenix was pretty broken too. It was just that Earth Spirit outshine him but Phoenix fire spirit did INSANE amount of damage. If he hits lvl 3, and land 2 Fire spirit you are dead or run to fountain. Both of which are shit situation.
I miss the Phoenix shard, infinite fire spirits. It wasn't long until Valve realized that giving support heroes infinite charges of DoT skills, such as Wisp and Phoenix, was a bad idea. But I enjoyed that thoroughly while it lasted.
I remember when phoenix fire spirits did 900(? Might be more...) damage at lvl 7 if you perfectly hit all 4 of them. I remember spamming it to get out off 2k many many years ago
Reworking techies took away some of the most important and interesting parts of dota: macro game and map awareness. Everything’s become so predictable and repetitive now, and I’m afraid it’s not going to change any time soon.
Old techies was 🔥, he was the true spirit of dota. Good techies players played techies just like todays techies aggro build. People always cried about techies afk bombing. Techies is true test to your discipline, truesight check, ability to work as team, and prioritizing objectives
I don't wanna to argue with you , but the amount of people who agrees with your opinion is 99.999999% less , than amount of people who dont ( and big amount of people who dont are pros ).
It was a shitty hero and nerve-breaking. It was slowing the game, forcing people to play a single lane and not alone, and making the game less dynamic overall. It was extremely stressful to hear the explosion out of nowhere and fucking you up mentally in a nanosecond.
While I agree the hero had a very low pool of players that played him effectively, it was a hero that was too unforgiving to your own team that had a high volatility with toxicity. I'm sure you can agree to that
And was indirectly buffed to a stupid point, when you couldn't break mines with quelling blade,so it wasn't possible to defuse as melee or some ranged heroes at all leaving no counter for mines. Very fun and ofc skill issue
God i loved playing old techies, literally bait all five so pissed at your shinnanegans. You might die or survive but you could still kill all of em. I dont miss the old one tho, new techies has more action to it
Only som of the old ERA of DotA tht i remember is How OP AM is with his fkin 85% Anti Magic Resist and Techies with his fkin BOMB that can insta kill u across the map that shit was hilarious 😂
Remember when, adding new Dota 2 Heroes didn't fuck up the entire game, great job Valve, you are really living up to the multi-million dollar name you've made for yourselves.
There was a time from before TI2 to a little after TI3 that was so unfun for me. Whenever I see Spec, AM, Sniper in a game (which was a fucking lot in SEA), I just sighed, because 3-4k mmr SEA didn't know how to end the game effectively, so we were looking at 50min+ game. I didn't know wtf Valve changed in the game afterwards, but thank God they did.
I feel like the most broken hero on release that wasn't also in WC3 dota is probably Monkey King... overtuned abilities, insane starting hp regen and armor... u can play the hero in any role and u'll crush the game
Back then when underlord just released I kept spamming the 1st and 2nd skill since they have a low cd. Ez farm for me and EZ win with the 3rd skill stacking up some dmg
