TI6 Wings is an anomaly , an enigma in TI history. They came in , dismembered and turned upside down everyones logic of Dota's meta by their picks , strat and gameplay. Everyone from the pros , the casual , the audiance , the panelist , everyone who watch the at TI6 almost always have the reaction of "Wow they win , that actually works. How they make that works ?"
Watching his QOP out matching a morphling 1v1 with an orchid totally blew my mind back then. I've always thought of mid laner as the mid game tempo leader leading the carry into the late game. But around 40 mins mark he out dps a morphling. The next day i went to school and was like WTF?!?!
TI 1 Navi, 1st gen Alliance Roster, Wings Gaming, TI7 Liquid and old OG roster was by far the best era of Dota, also im surprised Miracle and Dendi isn't even mentioned on Iconic players :
Yeah bcoz he is the only Chinese being interviewed, its weird to said ur self is better or iconic.. Isn't it? If they were to interview some legends like rOtk, LanM, Chuan, BurniNg, super, Ferrari. Then his name might be on the list.
Another beautiful piece of content that makes you smile all the way thru. Please more of this. Man makes me reminisce about all the insane non-stop content we’d get about DOTA before the pandemic.
Everybody like "who the fuck that guy", "OG lose fly and s4", and remember when the pros call him rookie and they forgotten OG already since they most likely lose. Like i can say 90% put bet on LGD, EG and Secret back then. Not OG.
Anna too. Super humble. Super self effacing. Sometimes playing the jankiest strat (wisp carry) to absolute perfection Takes a full year break after TI8 to hop right into TI9 and win it all even more convincingly 😅
@@benndarayta9156 I would say 4/5 players on spirit are the contenders too (except miposhka because he had been a pretty well known player in CIS). All 4 were literal whos and then decimated everyone on main stage after dropping to lower bracket. They didn't even win any tournament before TI and now they also have a major under their belt.
My first time watch ti was the time sumail play as storm spirit and win that aegis. I remembered next ti EG comeback with dagon 5. The most iconic comeback i ever seen.
Yes, that game. I know what you're talking about. Sumail was 0-3 on Storm, early game was almost gone. One good teamfight he gets a triple kill. By minute 35 he was highest NW. Can never forget that kid's face in that game.
Same. There are plenty of players that I'm surprised didn't get mentioned, but none more so than Burning, especially from the Chinese players. That man was a farming beast. I still remember how he made Alliance sweat at TI3, something that few teams managed to do
Anyone remember Ad Finem? Appeared out of nowhere, dominated the 2016 Boston Major, got placed 2nd, then disappeared unfortunately. They had a lot of potential with their Greek fighting spirit, got the crowd cheering and yelling Spartan warcry during the grand finals against OG.
There's still some notable teams like TI3 Orange, and TI4 DK which shared the same fate as TI5 Secret. Players that worth mentioning are still a plenty too. Dendi, Fear, s4, fy, Burning, and many more. Dota can really make these gamers reach quite the fame.
So much love in this series. I love seeing players admired and inspires other pro players, I may not good at playing dota but after seeing this video I'LL SHOUT TO THE WORLD THAT I LOVE DOTA and im proud of it. Kuddos to dota community as well.
@@awikwok212 close, but not exactly. Alliance that year were unbeatable. Especially TI3, teams were copying their shit to no avail. And before their god run split pushing was looked down on as cheesy and weak; look at Dota now. How many teams and TI runs can you cite that resulted in PERMANENT culture change in terms of how players understand the game? TI9 Ana & OG's carry Wisp is dead just bcoz of a patch, and yet 2013 Alliance's playstyle has endured.
2013 Alliance forever. The Rosh baits, Bulldog's LD & Furion rat doto, EGM pioneering Wisp on the pro scene, Loda's Gyro and PA builds, Akke microskills, S4 soloing games on Puck & Magnus, and of course the emotions this team gave to the community and the amount of innovations they left behind. I can still hear Winter and LD's throne speech word to word in my head: They came from the North! Alliance wins! They win TI3!
@@sylph2689 you know slyph boy, you cannot compare stats in every ti, you just need to watch how they play as a team, and how they execute well their draft. stop researching some stuff
@@sylph2689 i don't see Alliance or any other team win TI twice, and not mention in a row. I think team spirit's result this year solidifies it even more, that OG was the most dominant team ever in dota history
Wings Gaming that Dark horse hyped me up when they won Ti, They were an anomaly that time, their interesting picks defied the meta that year beating down fav teams. Also that battlepass was one of the Best and The production in mainstage is top tier.
My favorite player was BurNIng. I just loved his AM, I watched how he played it and I just got very good at playing him. To this day a signature hero of mine. When I entered my first team, the captain gifted me manta blades for AM. That's how much he liked my AM. All thanks to BurNIng. There is just a very good parasocial connection there.
puppey is the most iconic. imagine playing TI since the beginning. count every patch he played. and he still good at playing till now ti11 1 of the top 4 teams and no lose haha
Hard to decide when there are many good teams and players. However Puppey, Dendi, Kuro and Navi as a team in the first 3 years was in my most passinate years of Dota, it has to be them. "We rush B everywhere", that is exactly what I feel. They are jus so aggressive at the time. But it works.
Chuan- the only sea player to win TI Mushi- Captain sea teams to get 3rd place TI (Orange) and 4th place TI (Fnatic). Also he is one of the players that the legend Dendi himself respects. Burning- the first uncrowned king from China. Somnus- the player with highest KDA in dota 2 history.
No shits its the odds are like 96% Secret v.s 4% Ehome on our bet sites... Thats once in a lifetime YoLO..,. People keep posting on how much they won lol....
I remember in year 2015 when i was first introduced to dota 2. I was playing warcraft 3 or dota 1 as it is names in the RGC platform. When i first played dota 2 i said to myself that i wont replaced dota 1 with this game and here i am now, slowly losing sanity in this sea server but after all these years it was fun and i will not regret anything.
Same I refused to play Dota 2, one day at. Very late time at night I said to my self let's just download the game ND see what it is. I went to heros and saw my precious Doom. Haven't touched any other game ever since 😂😂
It's not just BurNing... All Chinese stars across eras and positions and teams were ignored here. Ice3, Xiao8, LanM, Ferrari420 list goes on. That's probably because only 1 Chinese player was interviewed and it would not have been cool if he kept on plugging Chinese iconic players into this. It's only natural for people to remember greats from their region more prominently as they would have competed against each other 10x compared to teams from other regions, which is basically Majors and TIs.
Would've loved to see some love given to Fear and majority of the legendary Chinese players. Respect to all of them who lasted long and gave really a good impression on to dota and made an inspiration to these new generation.
I still remember that one game where wings gaming drop an item to confuse enemy when escaping from the enemy, then one of their teammate from behind with invisible hero come to take the item before enemy destroy it and they successfully escape lol
I'm surprised that Team DK 2014 is not here. The WPC Ace League comeback and Starladder StarSeries IX where they didn't lose a single game on the LAN Finals.
personally when i think about dota icons flax himself is what comes to mind. Big reason i kept playing the game after my friend introduced me to the game
One moment I won’t forget is Loda’s saltiness on that puppey+dendi’s fountain hook. Tongfu players just accepted the fact that it’s their fault that they’re getting caught by that hook, but loda in the lobby just shouting “Biggest fucking joke I’ve ever seen!” Dayum.
its weird in none of this they talk about kuros liquid.aside from miracle, gh and mc are players that changed the way everybody played Dota when at their peak
I would say TI6 DC gaming was iconic for me at least, came as unknown team with fresh roster and they have beaten some titans and even won the first game against Wings gaming in Finals that was awesome game btw
Yeah that team was iconic for me as well young W33 and Resolution dominated all tournament and they're even won a game against the invincible Wings Gaming what a runner up performance by DC
I think the original A-God Arteezy stands out for me. The stand-in for Speed gaming MLG Columbus was so epic! He was just the boy gooning it up with the old streams too. That is what I would consider an icon for sure.
There are too many Dota moments and Team to ever get though in a segment this length, but for me it's TI 3 Era Aliance Vs. NAVI. That is what got me into the game.
Without a doubt sumail is the most iconic atleast for me...hell 15 years old and already winning millions...WHO wont be interested...sh1t the whole world knows him after that
This is an absurdity. No mention of Team DK and Alliance. Team DK 2013-2014 era consisting of BurNIng, LaNm, Mushi, iceiceice and MMY were the PSG.LGD of their time. Played a precise and patient style of play with a flashy appeal to crop out their gameplay. All 5 were legends even back then and their legacy right now shaped Dota today. Also, lets not forget the Alliance champion squad too. They introduced a strategy and tactic that won them the Aegis. "Rat Doto" was copied and practiced by almost all proteams and pubs back then. They left a legacy that we will never see in Dota today. DK and [A] were snubbed.
Seriously, of all iconic things in dota2, deep in the heart we want to see Puppey grab his second Aegis. It is, literally friggin 11 years since back then. Their lineup isn't the best, but hey, 11 YEARS ATTENDING EVERY FRIGGIN TI!!! I'm gonna absolutely salty if he lose this time, for sure.
DAMN. I THOUGHT THE VIDEO IS GOING TO BE ABOUT THE ABILITIES' ICONS, THE HEROES' ICONS, AND SO ON. I genuinely thought there were going to be some alpha-modern or alpha-beta-modern icons. LOL
T3 alliance with the split pushing, Miracle first player to reach 9k, BurNing AM battlefury, Hao and MU from newbee, Chuan from IG, Old man FEAR, 2 broken OG Lineups won TIs, that CDEC squad, Fy GOD, Ferrar_430's TA, Mushi who gave SEA hope for awhile, Eternal Envy one of the best carries back then, Ramzees666 underrated carry player, Resolut1on still fighting today, ppd. and it keeps on going
