Some of Skylar's childhood friends and associates are married now and have children now. Rip Skylar It's so heartbreaking to know Skylar didn't get to have that and be able to. It must be a unimaginable painful day for them and her Family.
I imagine in a way it only gets more painful each year as people move on with their lives, and there are less and less people in the community who knew her and remember it all. Life goes on for everyone else and the support fades, but the pain and heartbreak is just as intense for them as it was 10 years ago, they can’t move on.
This is the story that touched my heart. There is not a single time I don't feel like crying, when I hear Dave Neese talk about her daughter. He loved her so much. A year ago I was close to dying myself in an accident... I am not religious, but ever since that day I have had this feeling that somebody saved me that day. It was truly a miracle. One of my childhood friends died in a car accident himself and I just had this feeling that maybe he saved me. I don't know how to explain it, but I know I was close to dying and I remember all I was thinking was my family. I was thinking how much I wanted to hug them and never let go. And then I hoped that if I died, they would still have the strength to be happy. That is all I hoped for. I am sure that is what everyone hopes for, when the end is coming. I want to say this to Dave Neese: Your Skylar will always be with you. She is close by. And whenever you miss her just think how she will put her arms around you and give you the tighest of hug with a smile. Her light will never disappear, but it will guide others who feel scared or lost, because the truth is she never left. I am sure of that now.
Still honouring your legacy, Skylar, after ten years and all the way from Italy here! I'm so sorry for you, your family and friends. You'll always be remember, everywhere.💜
I think about Skylar and her parents from time to time. I remember the case like it was yesterday. I never met Skylar because I'm from Canada, but she was only a year younger than me and we had a LOT of things in common as teenage girls. And, like her I was also an only child of two of the most amazing and loving parents in the world. Her parents are such wonderful people and I wish them both nothing but peace in the future.
It's been more than 11 years, for sure that times does fly so damn fast but we won't ever forget Skylar . All our hearts and minds are and will forever be with Mary and Dave who have to spend the rest of their lifes with a terrible pain and suffering that will never go away.. Once again, we're so, so, so, so, sorry that such a terrible thing happened to their families and friends, and of course, to Skylar herself as well. She would be 28yo, today, happy and far away from these monsters who took her life if her big and generous heart didn't give them any chances. RIP Skylar #gonebutneverforgotten💖

May Skylar Neese legacy lives on forever and forever. She will never be forgotten. Don’t trust anyone. You don’t know anyone 100% percent, especially friends. I’m sending my thoughts and blessings to the Neese family. Her poor daddy and mom. This case is so horrible. It haunts me. No family or kid have to go through this tragedy. This case makes me so angry and sad. Her death was preventable, but like all schools in the USA they choose to ignore and ignore bullying and threats. They claim to care, but never truly care. They never do their job. The heartless school staff should have all been charged criminally for their negligence.

As a resident of Westover, WV which is 10 minutes from Star City, this hit really close to home, learning of the details years later this is just hard to believe at times, may Skylar live on in the hearts and memories of those who know and love her

It is absolutely crazy they both didn't get life sentence. They planned on murdering her for months! I hope and pray both parole won't work for them and they will stay in prison to the rest of their sentences. They both regret not killing her at all but losing their freedom. Cold blooded murders have zero remorse.
I just found out about this case last week (Think it was Wednesday 13th December but I’m not sure) and I’m still quite shocked I was quite young when Skylar was m******d I was probably about 8 or 9 I can’t remember but anyway and like I said I just found out about this case last week and it still shocks me and on the day I found out it kept me awake all night like come on how can you do that to your best friend ok if you don’t like her then end the friendship don’t go and m****r her. I don't like the fact that they say that Skylar until this point will be married and have kids, like come one, why people believe that getting married and have kids is like the main goal for a women, can you actually think what Skylar could have done in other terms, so ridiculous that make woman believe that they have to get married and have kids, like if there wasn't anything else to do.

It's heartbreaking to see this "memorial" that her father set up so it's heartbreaking in a different way to see people nail up car license plates on the tree. Kind of desecrates it to me. What's the message there? C'mon people, get a grip.
