Tommy holds the record, alongside Vin Scully, for the longest tenure with one team (Both men were associated with the Dodgers for 62 years). His passing is another blow to the sports world. The players he teamed with, and played against, the umpires he yelled at, the announcers he heard, ballparks he played in, all the memories he made, now rest with him. I hope he's comfortable taking all that stuff with him. Rest easy, Tommy. Baseball won't be the same without you. (1927-2021)

I was at Candlestick for Tommy Lasorda's last game there as a Dodger. I was above the Giant's dugout when the Dodger team made the walk from visiting locker room (far right field corner) to dugout when Giant fans started booing him (and yes, some applauding) when he started blowing kisses to fans all around booing him like a Hollywood starlet. He milked it for all it was worth. I will never forget that. Another great memory at Candlestick.
