In this video I show how to remove the fisheye effect from your GoPro photos and video. We will look at a few ways of doing this using Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro. The best way to do this is to set the camera up in linear mode. If you have an older camera you can easily do this using GoPro Studios, but this no longer works with the HERO5 and HERO6. +Martin Turner yeah sorry I am not a Mac user so my options in editing software are limited. I would expect FCP has some similar features to allow for lens correction.

if i record it in 4k with my gopro and then put 1080p medium in premiere pro the clip will be in 4k or it changes resolution??????

Cool beans! Will be updating what footage I shoot with my Hero5 to Linear & give that a whirl.. Have been using Pinnacle 21 Ultimate to remove the fisheye effect with some pretty good results. Thanks!

Yeah, I do. I had some experience with it, some 10 versions ago, and liked it then too. That's why I purchased it again. There are a stinking lot of things you can do & extras you can get to do some amazing things. I'm only scratching the surface with it currently.

I feel like that is the case with most editing programs we use. I use Premiere Pro for all my editis and I know despicte using it 3-40h a week for the last ~8 years I am still only using maybe 10% of the programs funchinality.

I have 2 hero4s and when i upload the content to gopro studio, and convert it, it always seems to zoom in some and doesnt show the full image/video i shot, i shoot alot of crane timelapses and the gopros can get all of the crane in view, but like i said, once up in studio, it zooms in and crops out some of it. Is there a fix for this issue?

+46GamingCuber which cameras are you thinking about? Adobe camera Raw supports most high end cameras and lenses with presets for removing lens distortion.

Does removing fisheye in post-production allow you to retain the 4k ultra HD quality? I understand that if you remove fisheye before shooting, you aren't able to shoot in 4k......

lower versions have more options than the gopro 7... they went from upgrade to downgrade....

whats the deal with these lenses, is there no way to get propper direct recordings with wide view without the stupid looking distortion ? It's not just a little distorted, its alot, everything in the center is much further a away looking that each side(its not just a little in the sides - alot man) It's sad seeing new hardware not able to do propper wide view without these handicaps

When you have Premiere PRO you probably already know. Some folks have older cameras and can't afford or run expensive s/w. Just saying.

I hate the fish eye effect. I'm sobbing. I just hate this. This is the TENTH video I am trying to find out how to get rid of this garbage. What a worthless camera. There is no "linear" view in Gopro 7 white.
