In this GoPro tips and tricks video I show how to remove a GoPro adhesive mount. This is done by heating up the GoPro mount using a blowdryer and then just pulling the mount off. The heat being added to the mount make the adhesive lose some of its stickiness this make the mount easy to remove.

Found another way! Gg some dental floss and get it under somehow then you just slide the floss under and pull it off! 0 residue left behind

I'd be very careful using heat to remove the mount from glass (like a windshield). Uneven heating could cause the glass to crack. Best use dental floss to remove it from glass.

My understanding is that VHB tape can be removed with Dental Floss. Just position the dental floss between the tape and the surface and work it back and forth along the entire VHB tape surface. I think that method may work better since it offers more flexibility where electricity may not be available and there is no burn/fire danger

At 3:58 I am not very clever for those camera and gopro stuff and I just wanted to know the thing on the left gets on the middle mount right? I just want it to know cause I will use a action cam on my helmet and search for the right mount cause I‘m not using a gopro. My helmet came with a mount like the one in the middle (its a gopro mount like they mention it) but without a camera mount

I found using hairspray ASWELL AS the blow dryer makes it come off really easily.. Deodorant works aswell

I just did this on my helmet and although there was a small amount of residue so I used a little bit of hand sanitazer and the residue disappeared.

I tried it under running hot tap water for 2 minutes. Worked perfectly. I did not have a hair drier.

I work in the oil fields and If I mount this to my hard hat do you think that the heat from outside will make it fall off it gets in the hundreds at times here

Tether the camera to be safe when in doubt. I glued one of these mounts to my mountain bike and ran the camera with an extra battery. It never came off or came loose. Give the mount at least 24h to cure when you first stick it on and it will be firmly stuck.

If its stuck on something you can submerge in boiled water then that works very well without having to keep using the hairdryer.

well you know that the adhesive pad are made by 3M they also sell 3M adhesive remove fluid that soften the adhesive but try Goo Gone Adhesive Removers. note wear hand protect has a Citrus scent great for removing sticky from notebook

good & helpful video! and incase anybody else is wondering, yes this works with one of those orange floaty's you can stick to the back of your gopro door, but because it is clear plastic, the sticky remnants are very obvious, get a tissue and some citrus cleaner "De-Solv-It" and it'll wipe right off.

if u would heat mount ,adhesive would come of the mount but if u heat the surface to which its stuck to , adhesive would stay on the mount.

so this industrial adhesove can only be used once really? and then youd need to buy another one? either mount of just adhesive ? i just got my go pro but im a bit eh in this problem and was wondering about that

You can buy the adhesive on a roll from most hardware stores and replace the bit on the mount allowing you to reuse the most mounts.

+renevank If you haven't been skiing much before, I strongly suggest to forget about the helmet cam. From experience, helmet cam footage usually looks way less awesome than in real life due to the higher/wider angles and lack of a subject. Would recommend going with a selfie stick or having someone else film you using a wrist strap.
