Thanks - I was able to remove the drawer but for some reason the drawer will not go back in. The drawer sits on the runners but seems to be unlatched to the metal runner and I keep banging this into place but it is no longer connected. Any tips?
The problem might be that soft-close spring mechanism at the back end of the slide has slipped to back position. You just need to pull it back to front position and then try to attach the drawer to slides. See this video for one example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TPYYcVaQpxk.html
@@MikkoAuvinen Thank you, you were right with locking pin. I spent several hours figuring out how to release them, finally I've found a way with flat screwdriver. It needed just a little tweak between pin and front part and it came off the rail easily
Immediately see an error in the method used in removing the drawer. You should not lift the drawer using the two tubes, you should lift from the side of the drawer. When disconnecting the drawer from the runners, just make sure your fingers are not under the drawer as when you lift the drawer the runner will come out the bottom
We have a similar draw however those tubes can pop out easily to the left (as they’re only snap locked into the front panel). It’s safest to lift with your palms beneath the draw, just to be safe.. but it’s a good video nonetheless.
Try to trick to open a drawer when something inside is wedged and prevents opening it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kiSxCFAY-Q4.html
Pulling the drawer to remove it using your method is wrong. It weakens the mechanism. You will find to the left and right of the drawer and attached to the actual drawer runner (not the cabinet slide(s), a lever just below where the drawer adjustment is. Feel for these and press upwards to release the drawer.
Thanks for info. For me this method feels a bit violent, too. But unfortunately there's no such levers in our drawers. Pulling up seems to be the only way to remove them. Also this official looking video seems to give similar instructions for some other model so I guess that's somehow correct method for this kind of drawer mechanism: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G2Th2B0Mfq0.html
@@MikkoAuvinen having looked, my method is for ikea Maximera. I note that you have the Exceptionell. How to remove. On both sides left and right and underneath, you will find a cog mechanism. Turn towards yourself (located about 1½"/3.5cm from drawer front and the drawer should come out. It actually provides the instructions in the essembly leaflet which you would have received when you purchased it. Pulling any type of soft close/open drawer will eventually damage it.
@PetiteBluebirdgirl Ours is not Ikea, it's from a smaller vendor and has different mechanism. Tried to see if it has similar press and pull option but there's none. I see that the only way to remove this drawer is to pull it upwards.
