Removing an Old Sash Window 

Thank you for this video I have similar windows except just one sash. We aren't replacing yet but want to sand and and get rid of the mold and stain the window sash

Great video. My windows are EXACTLY the same. Next time please turn on the light in the room or use a drop light. So dark. But awesome anyway. Thank you

I was wondering the same thing re the outer sash...???

Why remove the outer stop? Doesn’t the new window go against it?

My rope broke on and old window similar, can’t seem to find anything in how to fix that or even remove the window to fix it

Thanks for making the video but it does not help someone who wants to remove the window in order to fix it, like I do. (and I have some metal tracking that your window does not). Also, you talk about replacing the window 'with more energy efficient' windows. One thing that has been proven is that these old windows with a storm window are just as efficient as the double paned vinyl. These old windows, if properly restored will last many many more years longer than the vinyl windows that are now failing after 20-30 yrs. Mine are 110 yrs old and going strong as the wood used back then was old growth and much more dense and strong. Hope this comment helps others in their decisions...
