I too wish we had a place to shoot long range in Quebec. Great video!

The only place I know, is in public land, 18hr drive up north. its brutal. but once there you have 3km of free range :)

I use kroil with jb bore paste with my friend's rifles. They would complain of poor accuracy. With tipton felt pellets, I would achieve the rifle's best accuracy with factory ammo. I follow up with bore tech eliminator for storage and final clean.

Kroil and JB is the perfect recipe for cleaning carbon. I use Free All and JB for old milsurp barrels that haven't been cleaned in 60 or 70 years. For rust protection I always go with Eezox. That stuff is really great for preventing rust! Thanks for the great videos!

Thank you for the follow up. How often do you clean the barrel in this manner?

Hey, that's a very good question. This is not my typical cleaning session, I'll do that when I get a new rifle, (especially used one) So I can start fresh and truly see what is that rifle capable. The wipe-out is great when you use it on fresh carbon. I bring it at the range with me. When I'm done, I'll squirt some in the barrel while it still hot leave it there and then do a regular cleaning(patch and nylon brush) the following day, I will usually finish my session, with 4-5 passes of Kroil and bronze brush. Then some clean patch to remove the oil, or I'll leave the oil in if I'm not planning to use that rifle anything soon. (I live in Quebec and its very humid during the summer) Thanks for your question and thank you for watching! Cheers!

First i have done lots of research regarding oils. Kroil is in my opinion the best for guns. When you buy a new gun . I take it apart and clean it. No more Hoppes,or Barostol ? They are poisonous So you must wear gloves. I clean my 1301 with mineral sprites (magazine, piston and barrel I coat other guns with Kroil . Why because ir soaks into the metal (into the pores) sealing and creating corrosion resistance.protection None on my piston and the part of the barrel that's holds the piston, magazine tube on the 1301.All other guns get it. Blaster is snother that works like Kroil but breaks up carbon and great protection as well. I have used kerosene to clean parts and barrels aA very cheap way as well but use gloves again

100% Agreeing with you. I had 1 drop of kroil falling into my dutch oven lid, by accident. I left it as an experiment, the drop has expanded, and crawled to cover the whole lid. it kept on crawling and expanding it truly the best penetrating, I have mad respect for this product. It almost sound like Alien Technology. I used kerosene and mineral spirit a lot, but the smell...even the 1-k.

Merci/thank you. I too, buy my reloading components at X-Reload. I will order JB paste and clean that 1932 22LR made by Eaton. It really needs a good cleaning. Ah heck! And all my rifles 😂 And, pardon my ignorance, but why a light carbon deposit restore accuracy?

It shifts a little bit your impact point. The first few shots are usually ignored. As to why, I guess it fills up some irregularities in your barrel, the bullet will glide and spin differently in your barrel, enough to see a slight shift at 100 yards . Hope that sums it up :) cheers!

Hi Audran i noticed you have two containers of J-B compound polish the red and the blue label i want to try it out do i need to buy both or just the blue one sa you used , thank you and happy Holidays 🌲
@WildBushGrit
@WildBushGrit 6 месяцев назад
Yo Vince! They come separate, the blue one is of higher grit than the red. The blue is the cleaning, and red is the polish. I used blue most of the time.

How do you like to remove hardened carbon from a muzzle brake? I'll admit that I have quite the task ahead of me, but I have a 9mm PCC where the fouling is really starting to cake up and could use a recommendation before I start digging like mad with some picks
@WildBushGrit
@WildBushGrit 6 месяцев назад
I haven't got to that yet, I'm fairly new to muzzle brake and got my few first this year. I've seen Eric Cortina soaking them in CLR. But yeah I'll follow up when I get there :)

I'll have to look into it. Their site appears down and there's no recent activity on their FB page. Not encouraging.
