Today I remove the 1FZFE motor out of my 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser to fix a broken timing chain guide/slipper and do an overhaul. Last month when I was replacing the valve cover gasket to fix some oil leaks I found a broken timing chain guide and in order to get to it you have to remove both oil pans and the cylinder head. I decided it's not worth it to do it in frame and removed the whole engine instead. Now I can replace everything and really go through this engine and refresh it! Later, this turns into a full engine rebuild.
We were able to remove the engine by itself without the transmission but I'll definitely be removing the transmission too and installing these back as one unit. Way easier that way!
The plan for this rig is to make it a capable off-road, overland, and camping vehicle.
