Good video these will not work on some of the GM driveshaft because it’s too much of a slant but when you do get a chance to use one of these over a ball joint press it’s much more efficient I think I have like 23 U joint puller resize a restyle
Nope it’s just the way those older GM driveshaft for me well at least the aluminum ones I did a 1994 GMC 1500 van and I ended up using a ball joint press to pop out do U join I think they’re steel you joints might be different but I don’t remember
OK I just remembered I used the u joint puller tool to do the Front u joint on the propeller shaft for a 2003 Chevy trailblazer so on the trailblazer you could use the special puller tool
That actually looks a lot faster then a c clamp press.I might pick this tool up the can be a bear to get out and that’s with a good clamp did you use to install if so how did that go ?
This will definitely be my go to when removing u-joints from now on. No it's not an installer but installing is the easy part. I used a hammer to taps the cups in on this particular job. Placing in vise or c-clamp works great also.
Wish mine came out that easy. I have the same press but no success it was just twisting the shaft joint. Ended up using a ball joint press to get them out.
the ears on the yokes and driveshaft are flat and have an angle to them while the tips of that tool have curves. great for pushing on a ujoint but not yoke or shaft ears, thats the only problem i see with that tool, and the width is not adjustable. better than beating it with a sledge though by far.
