LYRICS:
Why can't we buy these tanks the Army says they don't need
Why can't we buy these solar-powered abortion machines
Uh, sir, there's 20 trillion reasons
You have 20 trillion reasons
We got 20 trillion reasons
About 20 trillion reasons
Why can't we build a border wall that touches the skies
Stay on our momma's healthcare until we're 45
We got 20 trillion reasons
You have 20 trillion reasons
We got 20 trillion reasons
About 20 trillion reasons
We took centuries
to reach 10, now I fear we're gleaning
Debt is like this guy
it should be nowhere near the teens and
now we've got about 20 trillion reasons to stop today
But maybe if we just spend one more we'll stay
Twenty trillion dollars stacked together just might reach to the sun
Uh, so
It could even last Johnny Depp for over a month
Dear God
We got 20 trillion reasons
They got 20 trillion reasons
You have 20 trillions reasons
We have 20 trillion reasons
Could we pay off the tab by buying unneeded jets
Or just identify as being not that in debt
We'd still have 20 trillion reasons
Still the 20 trillion reasons
Still have 20 trillion reasons
Over 20 trillion reasons
I've paid social security since I was first hired
Will that program still exist on the day I retire
I forgot my car
It's parked in the two hour parking
Lord, show me the way
I think I hear my third wife carping
I got a pot of sauce I left on the oven range
Lady Gaga parody written and performed by Remy

Here is the quickest way to get that Turkey paid off: Go back to a Free Market Capitalist economy, dismantle ALL regulations that hinder small business and large business. Revoke all business taxes and replace that with a VAT tax. Dismantle the Income Tax and install a sales tax to replace it. Defund the US military, place everyone in "unpaid reserve" status and just rely on the Coast Gaurd and National Gaurd for defense. Get rid of SSI, Medicare and Medicaid and send them back to the States where they belong. Lastly, tie the hands of the Federal Reserve by requiring them to ask permission from the Senate and House to print money and in the long run we 86 the paper/coin currency for something like Bitcoin or Dodgecoin. Also we defund all Universities and require them to be self funding plus we eliminate the Student Loan Program. Hey, if Johnny and Suzie can't afford college, then they get to work Blue Collar jobs until they can find a way to pay for tuition. Also the private sector is going to have to step forward and fund career training schools. That is the key 🔑 without skilled workers, nothing I am proposing will work!

@IrishCarney
@IrishCarney 2 месяца назад
What does that even mean? The rich pay the vast majority of federal taxes. The bottom two quintiles pay basically nothing. Their Social Security taxes basically obligate the government to pay them Social Security when they retire, and usually a lot more than they paid in. So, populist pandering rhetoric aside, the "working class" is a giant beneficiary of government spending. Health care, infrastructure, education, regulations, subsidies, all of it.

just numbers... and the truth is one trillion is too much debt when we know that our debt holders will come calling and with political rhetoric, blame America for every world problem from Ebola to the homeless in Venezuela to gay frogs, then take it out on us by taking everything that can steal in the name of compensation.
@kensmith5694
@kensmith5694 7 лет назад
doorran: Since the US runs on a fiat currency, there must be a debt or there is no money. Thus one trillion is quite likely the minimum debt that could be managed. Towards the end of the 1990s, the debt was about 20% of the GDP. In WW2 it was near 100%.

Dumb Voter: will Social Security still exist when you fix the deficit? Liar: Yes Honest Person: No
@kensmith5694
@kensmith5694 6 лет назад
No, the honest answer can indeed be "yes". It is well within our grasp to start paying down the debt and also pay for social security. It is just a matter of priorities. The economy has been growing steadily since 2009. It could easily withstand a decrease in spending and an increase in taxes without stopping the growth. It could actually be the best thing for the economy because the debt is a cause for uncertainty. Investment hates uncertainty like that.
@drumyogi9281

Imagine you make $100,000 a year, and own a $100,000 home. Essentially, that's the position of the US right now concerning its debt, with comparable debt to wealth generation. Not "being able" to pay off debt, is a scam. We are more than capable, it's just a question of priorities.

And we still somehow have tax loopholes that let billionaires receive stimulus checks, somehow let the wealthiest people in the country add a mind-numbing amount wealth during a crippling economic downturn, and still somehow have a military budget that's larger than the next 10 countries combined... You'd think we'd want to right some of the wrongs and revamp some of the laws that make things like this possible, but I guess we are content paying more than 7 billion dollars on people who want to smoke Marijuana, allowing wealthy people to skip out on billions in taxes, and bailing out corporations who destroy themselves. Hell if we are going to spend as much as we do, you'd think they'd prioritize things we actually think are important in this country like healthcare and education. Even Ronald Reagan was pro universal coverage, and somehow even now that seems like a longshot. Nevermind, that the average American would pay less paying the increased taxes for universal healthcare than they do in insurance premiums now, and eliminating the some 40 billion in uncompensated care costs that we currently pay each year. The CEO to worker wage ratios over 1000:1 aren't doing us any favors either, when those on social welfare programs could be elevated to a better of standard of living with those funds that end up wrapped in stocks and bonds.

Crazy how accurately this shows both sides and their pet projects and out of touch desires to spend money. One day the house of cards is going to fall

An Idea, "Get rid of any unneeded government programs, say goodbye to the Department of the Education, and cut general spending. Get rid of the Federal Bank and replace it with a National Bank, then have the IRS collect less taxes on the people. What I mean by " less taxes on people" is to increase the amount of taxation rather than the number of taxes out there. Having 20 7% taxes is worse to put up with than 5 22% taxes."
