You caught well Ren's use of religious imagery to convey deeper/timeless feelings. He has talked of not being religious. He is open to any possibility of reality, spiritual or otherwise, but he loves the stories and the words of man's interactions with gods.
Every good artist should be able to find inspiration in all manner of places and what better place than in one of the "greatest stories ever told"? :) I really like the fact that he incorporates religious notions in his songs, and he does it in a clever way, as an athiest and an artist myself I can appreciate the history and the legends of religions that I don't believe in personally.
Just from this performance alone all Ren fans should go follow chinchilla it’s criminal she has 78k on here Us Ren fans are a powerful bunch. We can change this girls life. Just follow abc don’t listen if not your fav
H I dont get it.she's so talented .plenty of people react to her and little girl gone has over 4 million views. So not sure why her subscriber count is so low.
Makes zero sense. I say this on her reaction. I have some crazy comments from guys saying she a man hater. Which I’ve barely ran into to that in Ren community. So it makes me crazy. I’m a single dad in late 30s. I don’t get that take. But several people have that. But i will keep asking everyone to follow her lol. She so good imo.
I am not really interested in her, I think subscribing to someone is a personal decision, people subscribe to what they want to subscribe, it is not that they forgot, if they didn't subscribe, they probably didn't want to. It is not hating on her, I like REN and I watched this collaborations for him, not her. She is fine but I am not really interested in her, which doesn't take anything from her skill, it is just a subjective thing.
"I don't feel safe in the halls. There are bruises on the walls. There are bodies in the floors. And they breathe so loudly" This passage takes on new meaning when you understand that halls in England is often a shortened version of halls of residence. A place that 1st year students live when they 1st move away from home to study. The bodies in the floors, not feeling safe, breathing so loudly. It all links very closely to someone struggling with mental health while in a shared student home.
I think it's also a reference to Edgar Allan Poe's the "The Tell-Tale Heart" and suggests an element of guilt. You should read that. I'm pretty sure Ren is influenced by a lot of classical poetry and literature.
Just found you guys, you deserve WAY more subscribers. Your breakdowns and intellect are superior to most reactors. I will be checking out more. THANK YOU 🙏!!!!!
I would like you react to "For Joe". It is Like a follow up from the song "Suicide". For me it feels it..... No, I will not influence you😊 My mother tongue is not english. So you have to know that reactors are very important for me and maybe many others to get the meaning behind the lyrics. Thank you.
I’ve been delving deep into Ren’s goldmine of work since I stumbled across Hi Ren almost a year ago. I’ve watched countless reaction videos of this song and many others Ren performances. I just found your channel recently and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your thoughtful commentary and enthusiasm for Ren and Chinchilla’s incredible artistry. Great job! I subbed and look forward to checking out more of your videos. 💔❤️🩹♥️
I'd suggest rewinding a little after pausing. That way you don't miss anything, lyrics, transitions, dramatic moments, emotional build, narrative flow etc. :)
This song hits for me knowing I was in a depressed state 2yrs ago and could fall back into it after everything I’ve been through and then having a friend actually die because of suicidal thoughts His singing in the point of view of his best friend joe who died by suicide 13yrs ago then there’s suicide which is his point of view that one has a whole story about joe which if you want I can post when you listen and then there’s the song for joe which is his way of finally letting go and saying goodbye although my fav is freckled angels which he made 12yrs ago
Great reaction and analysis! Due to all you have been speaking of I think you would love Aurora. She is a 26 year old Norwegian musician that makes beautiful and meaningful music and lyrics, and the content is reflected in her face and body. Nice reaction but couldn't get past the slowed speed and lowered key. Not sure if it was just the music video or if it is the whole video including your reaction and voices.
Love the reaction, you guys are great! But the video was run a bit slow, so it lowered the key to the song a half step. Should've been at the correct speed/key. It takes some of the energy out of the song, and you miss some of Chinchilla's glorious high notes!
People have mentioned that some of the songs have their speed reduced. We don’t edit the speed…I wonder if RU-vid changes the speed in processing. We’ll look into it.
