"You're not getting rid of the pain, you're only moving it to other people," AMEN!! My brother took his own life & I spent my 18th birthday burying his body, so, now, I don't just miss my big brother, who was also 1 of my best friends, I also hate the date of my birth!! It's devastating!! 😢
The day i lost my youngest daughter Aleisha 17 suddenly in her sleep, i also lost me, i too forgot who i was before, my life could never be the same. This song expresses the pain.
Ahh, I can rely on you. Every evening I can watch your latest reaction(s). Great. ☺ Yea, right. Those four songs are for/about Joe. At least with 'Su!cIde' and 'For Joe' it makes sense to do them in that order. They all are heavy stuff so take care for yourself ❤. For 'Freckled Angels' you should do the 'Live Performance'.
Was waiting for you to react to that - it's one of my absolute favourites. Loved the reaction! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 It introduces you to another theme in Ren's music - the loss of a beloved friend (Joe) when Ren was about 20. I didn't realize you hadn't heard about that one yet.
Oh yess, I saw a glimpse of this savage cool party guy in your "loosing it" reaction and in my opinion having this persona as part of your history fits you very well and makes you vivid. Especially with all the experiences you've had to pay the price for that and overcome it. It's that unique mixture of boldness and wisdom that makes a person really interesting and worth listening to! Your reactions are really special and a joy to watch!
Wow, humbled by this comment and grateful. It has definitely been a journey of self discovery and little improvements that added up over time. Looking back now, its like a different life. Have a wonderful day.
As others have said, the ending references Joe, his friend. It is a truly beautiful song. As you said, we love REN as he is so relatable as well as being a complete genius. ❤
This is an excerpt of a post Ren wrote about Joe 8 months ago in his RU-vid Community page: "On Christmas Eve 2010 I was sitting in a pub with Joe, he’d been feeling low after a couple of consecutive break ups. He tried to check himself into a mental health outpatient facility a few weeks earlier but they turned him away because he didn’t have an appointment. He turned to me and said that sometimes he wished he could just walk into the sea and keep walking. He said it in a kind of half joking throw away comment type of way, then took a sip of his drink, walked over to the juke box and put Dig by Incubus on. If I knew that was the last time I’d see Joe id have hugged him, told him how much I loved him, how much I looked up to him, how much we all loved him, and I wouldn’t have left that pub. I didn’t know that, so I finished my drink, said happy Christmas and left. Two nights after Christmas I got woken up by a phone call at 3am, it was my friend Ella. She told me Joe was on the Menai Bridge, a large suspension bridge connecting the main land to the isle of Anglesey where we lived. He’d been on the phone to her in tears saying goodbye. He told her to tell everyone he loved them. I pulled on my clothes as fast as I could and started running toward the bridge. It was up a hill. I lived about a ten minute walk away, I could run it in five. As I ran I started dialling then redialing his number. The line was busy, which was a good sign, it meant he was still on the phone to someone. As I got about halfway, the busy tone changed. It told me the line was out of service. I got a sinking feeling and picked up my speed. I arrived to the bridge minutes after I left my house. It was deafeningly quiet. I was the first person to arrive. I got there probably about 2 minutes too late. Joe’s body was never found. Initially we refused to believe he was gone. The coastguard came out that night, with boats, and helicopters. Me and my friends spent the next 10 days putting up missing posters everywhere we could, walking up and down beaches with flashlights, getting about 3 hours sleep a night. When you’re walking up and down a beach with a torch when its dark everything looks like a body. We still haven’t found Joe. As his birthday came around, I wrote a song, freckled angels, a song I dedicated to Joe which I sang in front of his friends and family. A charity football match was put on for him, raising money for the RNLI where I won two bottles of wine in a raffle, I drank them both as quickly as I could, naturally, turned to my friend and probably slurred something along the lines of “This is the last time I ever drink” That was 12 years ago, I haven’t touched a drop of alcohol since. My first ever album I named Freckled Angels in tribute of one of the best people I ever knew."
The last bit was about his best friend Joe Hughes who sadly took his own life at age 19, jumping off the Menai Bridge around 3.00 a.m on 28th December 2010. Ren wrote the song Freckled Angels about him and dedicated the album of the same name in his memory. More recently he has also released For Joe (which features the final part of the song Suic!de which references Joe)
You've become an intricate part of my day.... you & Ren! ❤ I've always tried to be a "glass half full" thinker, but sometimes that glass is half full of tears. His music has helped me so much, and reactors like yourself that GET IT! This one hits hard, as i was introduced to it when i felt SUCH heaviness in my heart (nothing was pulling me through) i feel every word.... I think you've more than earned another happier Ren song! Give your mind & heart a little rest! I see the Chinchilla requests flying. She is amazing! My favorite is the official video for Little Girl Gone!!🔥 it gives heavy Natural Born Killers vibes for me, lol Yeah, i like that dark stuff, apparently. 😂 You take good care of yourself & see you on the next one!❤✌️
Yes, Su!c*de will expand on this. Highly recommend. Also watch For Joe, which he performs live in front of Joe's parents (I think). Crutch is another excellent Ren duet track that deals with his illness. For non-sad Ren stuff The Hunger, Murderer, Animal Flow.
As already mentioned, he is referring to his best friend Joe in that last verse. When you get round to “For Joe” may I suggest you read what Ren wrote in the song description before listening to it. It really does give you context for the song. I think anyone who has battled in life, no matter how small or large that battle may have been, they relate to Ren on a deep level. I can see you truly feel what he sings, that’s why I enjoy your reactions 🫶
Some things can change us so drastically that we lose part of ourselves and forget how to be that person we used to be. For Ren, one of those moments was losing his best friend to suicide 😢 Make sure to do the other songs related to the topic in this order: Freckled Angels - Suicide - For Joe.
@@SaeedReacts. I’m sorry you can relate. Definitely don’t binge the songs then cause it’s probably going to be tough just getting through one at a time. Maybe break them up with the Love Music series. Like putting plasters on the wounds before ripping it off again 😅
Yes Ren was talking about his best friend Joe Hughes who committed su!cide that's the track you can only play when the sun is shining and after that the follow up is for Joe....not a request by the way just a little bit of information about these songs. Thank you again for caring 😊 I'm so looking forward for your reaction to the love music quad triplet series and of course Money game, see you on the next adventure ✌️
Thank you for reacting to these very emotional songs and putting a lot of your own story in there and how you connect with the music. Loved this ❤ Have a beautiful day!
@@SaeedReacts. Hi Saeed, I hope all is good and the laptop is working fine. The videos look great now really! The Money Game triology would be a treat for the weekend. Don't you spoil us 😅 Just kidding, you'll enjoy it, I'm pretty sure and we love to follow the journey with you! Have a great day!
Powerful song! So many can relate to that feeling of forgetting how to be themselves, who they are. Really enjoyed your reaction. Thanks for sharing how you connect with the song.
He's talking about his best friend Joe. I'm surprised you haven't heard about Joe yet. Ren has several songs that are either partly, or entirely, about Joe. "For Joe" being the most obvious but also "Suicide", "Freckled Angels" and this one, of course. There are also sideways references in several songs. All of the 'Joe' songs are heartachingly beautiful! If you do decide to listen to any of them, I'd suggest leaving "For Joe" for last. You'll see why, when you play it. :)
@SaeedReacts. just a quick request: it's out of the blue but I GUARANTEE you and your fans on your channel will love it! "HYPA HYPA" by Electric Callboy! You're from Belgium, just remembered that so you might if heard them already but if not! I pray 🙏 you react to that song! ❤️
There really is no good order to watch all these masterpieces. Maybe For Joe or Su!cide would have given you some insight but it doesn't really matter. Now you probably wannna get into that anyway. To me, this one is all about the delivery and chemistry
It was about his best friend joe who killed himself freckled angels one of his older songs su1c1de and for joe all connect, hes got some fun songs if you havnt already reacted , wat you want is fun, he does a retake of bitter sweet symphony thats fun, fatboy slim retake another, just breaks up the deep ones lol
His best friend Joe jumped off the Menai bridge in Wales, he called Ren as he was on the bridge Ren was talking to him whilst running to the bridge, before it cut off, but he got there too late.
Sorry , but its not true, Joe didnt call Ren from the bridge. Ren got a call from a friend who told him, Joe has been on the bridge. And Ren immediately sprinted off to the bridge, but he hasnt been on time...😢 Saeed, if you wanna know the hole story about Joe, listen to "ForJoe" Its a really touching song❤
Joe called a mutual friend and that friend told Ren what’s up. Ren ran to the bridge trying to call and was getting a busy signal so thought he was still talking on the phone. Eventually no busy signal and phone went to out of order or something? Maybe I shouldn’t be correcting as I’m not remembering what message Ren got but when he got to the bridge Joe was already gone. I’ll try to pull up the story and put it in the comments. Edit: I’m going to reach out to FB Rens Rabbit Hole fan page to get the story. I can’t seem to find it.
to complete the story, the water police searched for the body and never found it. That's pretty hard. I want to know, he is not spooking around and had his place resting. Hard for the head.
Wow, you animal. You don't look in for a moment and umpteen new videos ^^ I wrote that I wanted to draw your attention to another rabbithole, namely "Harry Mack Omegle", the freestyle god. Episode 1 is very very good, 45 and 52 incredible. No hurry, you have enough projects, but I haven't found it on your site yet and I'm sure you'll love it. Edit: Triggerwarning for the song "For Joe" by Ren. See it on a sunny beautyful day, just like Suicide. And you don't watch "Oogie Boogie Song" by Voiceplay yet, maybe i'm wrong. Great "Nightmare before christmas" theme. I trust the other Renegades will tell you about Joe. 4 o'clock, i had to sleep (holyday, but ...)
Thanks for watching and taking the time to write this. I do want to get to Harry Mack as well. I have seen a handful of videos of him few years ago, but need to explore more. Have a wonderful day.
The Su!cide them is in 4 song, as many other explain, The song Su!cide by itself is in 2 part, one Ren's talking about how he look at it, taught about it, the second part is about how he felt after his friend did it. ''For Joe'' take the second part of Su!cide and follow more in depth how he felt, how Joe influence him on a way. For me the song For Joe a gemme, going true the full cycle of greif, it's a master piece. Take care of you my friend ❤🩹
