Renaissance Man Reacts to Home Free - Brothers in Arms (Very Powerful) 

This outstanding arrangement was created by the Finnish group Club for Five. Tim contacted them and asked if HF could use it and they agreed. The Club for Five version has a different feel, since it is mixed male and female voices with instruments. Definitely worth a listen. The boys did an outstanding job here. Flawless harmonies and perfect lead vocals. I enjoy your written comments during the song. It lets me know what you're thinking without interrupting the flow.

"We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms" indeed. This is such a #haunting arrangement. Possibly the most moving vocals-only piece I've ever heard.

Hard to imagine them coming up with anything I love more than this one. There a lot of song I love that they've done, but this one tops my list.

I believe having just Tim & Chance sing made the song more emotional.

I have always loved this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. They gave it a very solemn feeling. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there.

Their voices blend so well together and they do not use auto-tune to achieve that. There is not much that Home Free cannot cover, and they write some outstanding original songs. Instead of a guitar, they opted for a pipe organ feel.

The slow, measured delivery with which Tim sings the first and last stanzas drives home the meaning of every single word. It makes for a powerful cover of the original as sung by Mark Knopfler.

Home Free always pays appropriate respect in their covers--especially to the content! Their talent is amazing--and I LOVE their 5-part harmony❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥

I think they took Mark K’s masterpiece of poetry, and gave it the feeling and emotion it deserves. A real chills and throat lumper.

BTW...in the behind-the-scenes footage of this, when Chance's feet aren't shown, there's a strong likelihood Tim's big, white dog, Satchmo, is asleep on the floor. You've got some good HF on tap. Am certain you'll love 'American Pie.' 'When Will I Be Loved' is a fave with many fans. (Satchmo appears in this one along with other pets of the guys.)

I tell people all the time, even when you're a bass (which I am and you definitely are, too), supporting those notes down below D2 isn't the easiest thing to do and keep them on pitch. The lower the frequency, the less tolerance there is for not being absolutely precise with pitch - a few cents off pitch at C5 isn't all that noticeable; at C2, someone is looking sideways at you, lol.

The haunting chords they use in this song always remind me of a pipe organ.

I love that your reactions are so true to the expression on your face. You love it, that's obvious, but yet so unexpected. They have worked together perfecting their craft on harmonies for at least 10 years or longer. You can't expect to reach that same place without putting in the time. Not saying you haven't but that it inspires you to do better than your own best is fantastic.
