My first exposure to Home Free today with Man of Constant Sorrow. Now we are doing this one because I am a fan of the song. Hope you all enjoy, and I will be doing more to come. Thanks for watching.
This song is done in a reggae calypso beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim Foust & Avi Kaplan. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the "Sing Off Show" that Home Free won in 2013 Tim goes even lower on this song "Ring Of Fire" & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. And Adam Rupp once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.
My first video I saw of Home Free as I was following PTX related to Avi at the time. From that moment on I didn't follow PTX so much anymore, but I did Home Free (and still Avi) and became a real Home Fry. Besides the beautiful voices, the bass, the harmony and the inhuman beatboxing/vocal percussion, I was also struck by the appearance of the group and that they touched my heart... Home Free is the number one for me
I hope both of you react to more Home Free. I'll be chatting with some home fries (fans of Home Free) tonight and I'll tell them about this reaction. It just came up in my suggestions a few minutes ago. About the song, it's a completely different take. They performed this on the Sing-Off. I actually prefer that version more. It was ingenius of Adam Rupp ( beatboxer ) to use that Calypso beat on this. They never disappoint! Thanks guys! 💙🍟
Although this is pretty great, I actually love their Sing Off performance of it better because I think it showcases their individual talent even better.
What’s fun is that when Home Free did this on the NBC show the Sing Off Tim went even lower at the end which is amazing. Avi has a great voice. The a cappella groups are friends and do some collaborations together. Love this version, a sort of reggae country vibe. Good reaction. Home Free does another Johnny Cash song Folsom Prison Blues that I love. 😀
Thank y'all for reacting to this song. One of the songs that Tim Foust wrote that is fun...Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget...if you have time. Thanks again.
They did the video for that one directly after this one. Avi was still hanging out with his buddies. The sequel to Champagne Taste is Full of Cheer, and you really don't have to wait for Christmastime to enjoy that one.
Avi had an early spring European tour. While he was in the Netherlands, 7 layers sessions had him do one of his songs in and ancient church chapel there. Avi is a great songwriter and this recording session shows of his fabulous voice. All Is Well (Kaplan/Williams) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sNjbAAjF4Tg.html
Great reaction.. You should check out Avi's solo stuff. He is no longer with pentatonix. So good I would recommend Change on the rise. It won't disappoint! Hope to hear some Avi.
