hey bob loving the reviews. so 👍👌 from me. question tho... have you driven the previous gt line megane? and if so what would your view be comparing the 2 cars vs each other?
Bob this is not GT its GT Line, the title could be misleading. Proper GT has 1.6 petrol from Clio Sport with 205 bhp, dual clutch auto and is a warm hatch, while GT Line only has the same cosmetics but not the engine or gearbox.
Nice video once again Bob! Why do you guys in 🇬🇧 /🇮🇪 only test drive cars with manual gearbox? I have been automatic gearbox for while and it's so good. Also who does needs a GT car? Most of the countries in Europe you can only drive max 120 Km/h. At list here in Finland if get cough driving overspeed you will get a heavy fine. 5 km overspeed is enough for a 100€ fine.
Great review Bob. Important to review what is always a popular car in Ireland. Very informative in explaining practical things such as power, noise and ability of infotainment system. Keep up the good work.
Anyone know f these Meganes are a good used buy bow with say 60k miles done? are the electrics etc giving much bother? test drove one and it had nice power and comfort, don't want to buy a headache though that will need constant repairs.
Nick G Was to be a private hospital if i remember right but it was started roughly 2007/2008 so they just pulled the plug. Id guess it cant even be finished now because of the steel being exposed so long.
Change the title, it's a very big difference between GT line and GT. This is only an ordinary Megane with some cosmetic changes to look more sportish. The real GT is Renault Sport and with it's 205hp, 4WS, different chassis, sport suspension, 7 speed automatic gearbox EDC dual clutch and more sporty look, it's something totally different.
never buy Renault brand new unless they are on sale (they take back your old car at higher value than the market + rebate on the new car). Usually you wait for about 6 month and get one for 70% of the price with less than 20000 km. EDIT On local craiglist, I found a Megane 4 100hp Tce for about 14000 € with 11000km , tells you how much they drop in value
You would want to be mad in the head to buy a Renault especially one with that much electrical equipment, I have a older megane and the doors fill with water when it rain shorting the window controls and the key cards just stopped working. all very common problem across their range even on newer versions.
My mother has a Megane II and to be honest it is a piece of shit. But I do love my Clio IV alot! It is an early 2013 model so it has had some little problems, but overall it's really nice.
Bob Flavin it really is! you should check out radiolab if you haven't already. Oh, and great job with the videos. your latest review of the Passat made me go out and buy one!
