Look forward to your next video mate I’ve found them very helpful as I have been restoring my 05 vivaro myself I’m currently contemplating whether to take the engine and gear box out to restore them as they are the only things left 😅

Got most of it off, hub nut was bit hard to crack suspension fine but looking I can’t see anything that secures the driveshaft to the gearbox. It’s an 07 2.0 ctdi but thought be roughly the same. No bolts or clamps but I do need my eyes tested

@@bluedragon13063 not sure how yours is. Mine has a few bolts that hold the driveshaft in place. If nothing in your case just give it a good pull and might come out

County Down, how about you ? By the way , just finished replacing the front suspension with the help of your videos. The inner tie rod arms were a nightmare, but got there in the end !@@TheKeenMechanic

I didn't see you drain gearbox oil. Also no oil came from it once you removed the shaft, if your oil level was correct it would have, is it possible the cause of the noise is a lack of or insufficient oil in the gearbox?

Hi Oil came out but wasn't captured in the footage. I have since this rebuilt the gearbox and was worn bearings (full process recorded and will edit when I get some spare time). Thanks for your message

Can i ask you a question. My mk2 trafic sometime is difficult to start. Ive been told its the ignition barrel. If i change it do i have to change the keys. Love your channel as you explain everything in plain English.

Hi buddy. I am sorry I can't answer this as you need an electrician to check the van in place. I have never had to change the ignition barrel on any of my cars but I reckon you will need new keys. I have seen people selling barrels on the internet with the keys. Thanks for your mrssage

What actually stops the oil from coming out the gearbox once you have installed the new driveshaft? Is it that plastic thing that you inserted at the gearbox end? Nice vid by the way.

Hi No, it is the oil seal that I inserted the rubber cone into. It is similar to a crankshaft seal. Thanks for watching, by the way I have a ton of content on the trafic / vivaro platform

Hi, if you are removing the short one- front left you will lose some gearbox oil. If you are removing front right -long one shown in this video you will not use any oil. I have currently removed the gearbox and engine and working on them🤝🏻

I need to pull out the right axle, like you in the video, because I need to replace the white plastic gasket that the mechanic broke when he changed my clutch and he didn't tell me that. And now let me ask you, there is a rubber gasket that is in this white plastic gasket and which is no longer on the old broken white plastic gasket, did that rubber gasket remain in the gearbox and should I take it out and in what way? I see the rubber gasket is in the new plastic gasket.

@@burakburak1173 I need to replace mine too to be honest. I need to find the part number for it and I can imagine it is only available from the dealer. When I get to the gearbox I will see if the diff seal can be replaced without taking the box apart. Will make a video on it too but not sure when I will be able as I have very little spare time at the moment
