The Echo Srm 225 are little work horses and very reliable at least in my company they have worked very well and have hold up commercial work really well.
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ru-vid.comUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
I got the Curt blade 2 pack. For $20 and have it installed but i think im going to wait until fall to clear brush by my treeline. Im using a 25cc hyper tough gas straight shaft weed eater.. Its either that or renting a billy goat walk behind brush hog
I like the Echo 410U better. More power and can get through some of those trees you used you chain saw on. I have cut 6" trees down to the ground with this setup.
This blade really shines if you have a 2620 pas trimmer. I bought the brush cutter attachment for my echo 2620 pas and the blade switch was easy. Definitely a keeper but I wouldn't try cutting anything over 4 inches.
Long time Tanaka pro user switched to the 225 cheaper to maintain take the factory carb off by $30 carb with a high low adjustment on it that's the way to go ✌️
I bought the universal kit and thought the blade that came with was not to bad for small brush. I do have the renegade blade otw though so thanks for the review.
Try the Shindaiwa T235. Its only about $50 more than the Echo and it is perfect for everything we do. You will need to go to a store that only sells lawn equipment. Not the big box stores.
The echo came from a shindaiwa/echo dealer. He only has echo in stock. I bought the 3020T. I much prefer the stihl 131 As much or more power at less weight and the trimmer head doesn’t clog up with grass and have to stop to be cleaned. Wanted to try echo bc I hear good things. So far not for me.

@@troxelservices I work at a sawmill and they use that 131 telescoping pole saw there. They are abused and destroyed here. They have a very hard life but I’ve seen them cut logs with them bc they don’t have to put on all the ppe as with a chainsaw by company rules. They are tough. I have the standard stihl 250 pole saw personally. It’s powerful
As long as you have the model weed eater that is on the adaptor kit in the video then it will work. If you re-watch the video you should see it the models listed.
