I am one of the weird ones who actually like the design. My main reason is that there are no moving parts so my kid's fingers and dog's tail hair are safe. They are always around me so that works! My son also stands in the middle as if he is riding with me. We have only had it for 8 days but I've used it for 7 days. I think I have convinced my dad to get one too. WE NEED A WATER BOTTLE HOLDER THOUGH!
Its my goal to be second place to you in all Renpho challenges. Apparently the newest ones they are shipping include a water bottle cage, but I just put one on with zip ties.
I bought one as well. I'm still on the fence on whether to keep it or not. Main con is that pedaling out of the saddle is really awkward to me because of the freewheel design - standing up changes cadence and for my lower ability (only 150ish ftp) the ride has a very odd feel as the bike tries to automatically adjust resistance to match the current FTP setting. Hard to describe, but very different than my cheap, standard style spin bike. A second, much lesser con is I really dislike the seat it comes with - too wide for my taste - but I just haven't gotten around to swapping it out.
Yeah the seat seems standard. I actually really enjoy how the bike changes the resistance. It tries to do it gradually to prevent any type of injury. For me so far it has been great. I don't need to come out of the saddle that often so that may be why.
Hi there ... great video. I noticed that you were continually changing the resistance using the digital knob. I'm hoping to ride on scenic routes where the resistance is automatically changed by the App. Please can you confirm that this is possible. Thanks Mick
For races and outside rides, it uses the angle of the hill (in degrees) + the gear you pick to provide the proper resistance. For power courses, it sets the resistance all for you, no gear setting. In short, it depends what type of training you do and whether or not you pick the gear or if the system does all of it for you.
Thanks for the review! Been thinking about this bike but mostly worried about the bike lasting over time with using it almost every day (or at least 3-4x/week). How is the bike holding up for you? Wonder if you can tell me your thoughts on the durability & reliability of the bike?
I noticed you mentioned noise levels can get high if you really go hard on the bike. At it's loudest, do you think it'll bother neighbors if you live in a wood (as opposed to concrete) apartment building? Last thing I'd want is neighbors complaining about the noise level. I realize you can be certain, but your best guess would be appreciated.
Bought one doesn't work. Resistance at 00.0 easy, changed it to 00.1 its like going up Mt Everest. Lots of back for forth with Renpho who acknowledged a problem and gave a full refund.
I like it, but I can peddle at the max with the RENPHO where I can't with the Yosuda. I personally prefer it as it is challenging in a 20+ minute ride hitting the high resistance, but still doable which is nice. It will be a different feel though you might need to get used too
@@GamerBody Thanks! I did contact Renpho directly and they confirmed it does NOT. Not a deal breaker. Just hope the resistance is good enough-(for non pro's). Obviously for the DC rainmaker crowd this is a joke (I have friends in this sphere--and I do get it--they need more and better accuracy, etc) But for general fitness this seems the value ticket
I don't see why not. If it is really cold in the winter you might find it uncomfortable until you start getting a sweat, but everything else should be fine about the bike.
Sorry about that. I'll make sure you can hear it more next time. Just note that it is more of a hum then being really loud. You have to push it very hard to make "meaningful" noise.
I agree with GamerBody, it seems perfectly stable to me. I use it pretty vigorously and it doesn't move around very much at all. Never feels like it'll tip over even standing and peddling.
