Anyone else coming from the future back here after the attack on the Capitol? I watched every minute of this impeachment. I feel like I have watched every minute of politics as a whole this year. I have never had to care before, but there is a reason I feel the need to watch endless hours of boring political process. Because I like many others feel that it is no longer being done in a propper manner, to the point where I as an apathetic citizen who has never once really cared about politics, feel I need to watch our leaders so I can make sure my life does not burn. I remember this speech more than any other moment in the last year of my life. The idea "how much damage can he do in a few months? Alot" rang to me then as true, and now post Covid Response, post riots, post assault on protests, post the ramping up of the lying that was always there, these words hurt to hear out loud. It hurts me that Mr. Schiff's sentiment here was not profound, but obvious. Everyone in that room knew, but right did not matter. politics mattered, the short term goals of elected officials mattered, protecting ones party from admitting being wrong mattered. Refusing to acknowledge that in some ways our political system is no more than a game, played by those looking out for only themselves. How can we move forward if we can not agree on truth. How can we stop the ability for widespread abuse of information, and still be a land of free speech where the government does not control the narrative? In many ways, how much of the misinformation WAS from the American government. I see little hope right now, but I am glad speeches like this exist. I can only hope that soon Trumpism goes away, but I fear the cats out of the bag, Pandora's box has been opened, there is no putting the toothpaste back in the tube.

We can not loose our country. Thank you Chairman Schiff for your love and dedication to our country. Now it is up to us.
