actually, did you know that only girl reindeers have their horns for December? all male reindeer shed theirs in November and grow them back every January, which also means that all of Santa's reindeer are girls!!!! Crazy right?

Fun fact, not only do female caribou have antlers but they have them during the winter. Since the males use their antlers to compete for mates in the summer and lose them in the winter, the females have antlers in the winter and lose them in the summer in order to protect the herd. By this logic, either all of Santa's reindeer don't actually have antlers or they are all girls.

Honestly the antlers look like glass. In my opinion this gives the doll a more beutiful and subtle Christmas feel.

Yuliya's outfit is beautiful! The red with white lace really conjures up memories of childhood Christmases and beloved, hand-made felt decorations. The colour palette you used for her face and hair makes me think of gingerbread (in addition to reindeer), so all round she's a very warm and cosy doll :)

She's gorgeous! So sad the curls didn't work out (she would have been so over the top cute then!) but I agree that the two ponytails make it go better with the lolita aesthetic you had going on. The decorations on the antlers were SO sweet!

Yule is a pagan holiday! It takes place the night before the solstice and you stay up all night to observe the solstice! My mother is pagan and my father is Christian so every year we open one of our Xmas presents at midnight on the solstice.. hope that made sense!

It's so cool to think that now, in 2020, she would probably modify the legs to make them look like a reindeer's, and have even more ideas for the face and outfits. Just shows how much more creative and amazingly talented Kathryn has gotten!

However Yule is not on Christmas day, it occurs every year on the winter solstice, it celebrates, comfort, and joy, as well as the returning of light. You should research it, it might make great inspiration for your dolls.

Yule is a Pagen holiday celebrated on the winter solctice. I can't say I know a lot about the lore or why it's celebrated, because my family doesn't celebrate it every year due to Christmas stealing all the thunder. When we do celebrate it, though, we do it by decorating a log of firewood with things like ribon and pinecones and cinnamon sticks and paper bows. Then, we burn it, and use the ashes to start the fire for next year's Yule log :)

She is extremely cute! I think the curls failed because you kept the original doll hair, and MH uses Ceran(idk how to spell it) hair, which doesn't hold curls very well. I may be wrong but that may be why the curls unsprung :(

You really inspire me to try and refurbishing dolls with just household utensils for the most of it. You even moved me to ask for watercolor pencils, not realizing I had gotten Faber Castell like you had at least once used. I just have yet to figure out proper sewing and making hair from yarn and such. I'm starting with something a bit more simple in build, like My Little Pony dolls, just to get into the habit while I slowly collect enough supplies to properly boost myself in this. Unfortunately, I have attention deficit disorders and can not focus on this, or be patient enough to, but I still try anyways. It has always been something I wanted to do, but you are actually the one that inspired me to even start trying. Thank you so much for your amazing videos! Keep doing what you love most! ♡ I personally want to see more themes of steampunk, natire, tribal, and possibly some other holidays. You are great no matter what though, and I look forward to any other doll customizing videos you make.
