In this video we show our truck in a crank no start situation, we paid a guy form a online forum to come over and run a scan tool the two codes it showed were P2285 and P2286
In this video we repaired the IPR Sensor that costs around 400.00 new to replace, we repaired it for 40.00 dollars.

Dude!!! your patience level is unmatched LOL. Filming while working on that truck, and one handed working with that ratchet....I was getting frustrated just watching this. Great tutorial though. The best I've seen for this application. Thanks.

I rate the difficulty of any mechanical work I do by the number of four letter words it takes to get it done. This one looks like it would rate pretty high. It's a good thing I work alone and their aren't any kids around.

That's how I did it until I got an '08 Mini Cooper. After owning that my rating system went from how much I swore to how many tools I threw against the wall/ground (and I love my tools and try to not even drop them).

Get a length of clear plastic hose for siphoning out the de- gass bottle. I trash those constant tension hose clamps to. Their murder to deal with if you don't have room for pliers. The struggle is real.

With a little experience you can pull the IPR valve without removing anything else. The socket 3" extention and a little patientce. I can have one out in a couple min unless it is extreamly tight

4:43 in the video you can see that the screen is pushed inside the IPR,that is because there is another screen stuck inside the high pressure oil pump, the previous mechanic that did that job don't checked inside the HPOP where the IPR solenoid is installed and the old screen broke this one, I did a similar job and there where no one but two old screens inside, normally the screen must be clogged but not in pieces.

My 06 F-250 6.0L just died leaving for work. It won't start. tried different times with no result. A week before, only one time in the morning was runnig rough after started. Let it run for few seconds and shut it off. Waited for a minute cranked right away and was running normal. Check Engine illuminated and gave me 3 codes: 01= P0679, 02= P2284, 03= P2284 P. Code # 3 same as # 2 but with a P.

Sorry not sure what that's about. Probably your best bet would be google or finding a RU-vid video with those specific codes. Most of the time one issue or sensor however will cause multiple lights. You gotta figure out which issue is the underlining issue otherwise you will just throw parts at it until it is fixed. Also another helpful resource is Facebook. I joined a Facebook group called Powerstroke, the only issue is there are a lot of kids with low self esteem on there that are only there to brag and talk crap if your equipment isn't as expensive as theirs. Looks like you have a bad y pipe or y pipe to turbo flange is not seated all the way judging by all the soot on the firewall

I love your video. It actually shows what to remove to get to the IPR. I have been trying to find the location to get to the ICP Sensor. Do you have a video that shows where it is located. One video I saw says you can get to it on top of the engine without removing anything. The video doesn't show where exactly its located. I know the general area but I can't find it. My truck is a F-250 6.0 Powerstroke diesel. I don't know if it's an early or late 2003. Does it make a difference?

Jim New I believe the icp for your year is located in the back by the ipr. In 04 1/2 and up they moved it to the passenger side valve cover on the top front 1/3. hope this helps

OK I know how to get to the IPR on the drivers side. I think I can get to the IPR by removing the air filter and tubing up to the turbo. Then remove water tank attached to the top of the motor, then remove the FCIM. Is the ICP behind the IPR? If it is I might as well check the IPR as well. Thanks

Personally I pulled the turbo it only took 30 or 40 minutes to take out and then you have 100% access you don't have to mess with the ficm or the wiring loom

Yes I got it pretty cheap I don't remember I think it was around 80 or 90 something like that... The biggest cost is if you have to take it to a shop to get the repair done.... Thanks for watching, thanks for commenting...

I changed mine 2 years ago, yesterday I turned off my truck y try to turn it on cracks but not start. Is there any possibility to be again the IPR?

I would say you need a scan tool it would be way too immature to have a diagnosis. It is possible, just make sure with these engines that use the oil for critical functions like injectors and other things make sure your using quality oil, more importantly your changing on time!!! I would not be putting a cheap amazon valve in clean your ford valve and use the reseal/screen kit or buy a new valve

The IPR is not $500, you can get an OEM IPR for as low as $130...

@@wyattholland934 That's an aftermarket POS, they're known to fail. The price I gave is for an OEM part online. Unless you got lucky and found an actual OEM part someone was trying to off and didn't know the value of it...

Dude the one ton truck has nothing to due with failure maintaining your truck with proper oil and fuel filter changes is what stops your one ton truck what the heck is with the one ton truck the 3/4 ton truck and 2.5 ton truck uses the same engine
