Key take aways are: 1. We didn’t perform regular safety assessments for a long time 2. We don’t have the parts 3. You all just wait till one day I fix it and I will increase the fares 4. Who is going to bear for the repair cost? 1. If its public then we will be prepared for another 10 to 20 yrs fare increase to cover the cost. Is it right to pass repair cost for public to bear while SMRT staff high & indecent wages. 2. Is the whole of SMRT Top, Snr & Middle mgt from Supervisors right up to top mgt getting wage & bonus freeze inclusive of AWS? Too complacent. 3. SMRT Mgt needs to be replaced. Getting retired army team with indecent salary is the end result. Those Top, Snr & Middle mgt must be totally replaced with expert team that can lead the company. The whole organisation from Train to Buses need to be replaced especially the mgt adopts the policy of finding scape goats to answer. Lower rank are suckers to answer for their mgrs & above. Mgrs & above got no responsibility. Deep seated culture issues can never be cured. 4. Time for Transport Minister to revive early closure & late opening FOC on shuttle buses with SMRT bearing the full cost. 5. Whole SMRT mgt is a disease & must be replaced immediately. Now the waiting time for buses is 20 mins to support this mess. Shame on them & the ruling party

Why didn't extend last Bus timing? Those commuters getting last service back when reaches interchange all had to walk back because Bus last timing didn't extend. As minister can do better.

How about asking him to explain why the employee who towed the faulty train did not stop to check on the train when the axelbox dislodge? Even if he is not able to see from the front, there must be an obvious resistance than usual during the journey of the towing given the number of cracks it has made on those heavy metal rail tracks. Can SMRT please investigate the root cause starting from the employee who did the towing and give us an explanation?

Looks like there's no proper SOP in place for such a situation. We're not the first to operate such trains. If we don't know how to innovate at the very least we must learn to emulate. Copy from another country's SOP or during construction of the tracks have the contractors provide the procedures for track replacement, etc. Also, line up supporting subcontractors for such eventuality. You have to work smart so as to reduce the pain for everyone. Getting high pay means putting in much more effort. The present situation reflected many deficiencies in the SMRT. What a shame indeed after so many years of operation & no one understands what Murphy's Law is all about.😂.

Oh please, LTA is most annoying Gov't Agency in Singapore that I cannot stand! Always waste money putting up road guards to stop J walk on quiet streets, allow road drillings almost every month to pollute people's flats with dusts and noises. PAB/PMD chiong road and express way also didn't catch. Whole family migrants from Vietnam/Thai/China or whatever ride on 1 e bike on the main road also can be seen. E, biker on inner section of the main road without helmet also can be seen... Station enforcers at junctions during office hours where ah bengs and arrent riders are sleeping or at work.... Then when these dangerous hazards come out zooming around, you never see an enforcer around. Last time SMRT break down for days, Ah Lui got fired/ stepped down right? This time who will take responsibility huh????

The workers are great we applaud them. But SMRT management and transport minister have some answering to do. Being highly paid and only able to be reactive. 😢😢😢, thought high pay = great experience and competency in the field of transport?

it's been a while already, the tracks have been there for god knows how long; nothing's perfect, tracks will eventually break ..at least, i hope it's been there for god knows how long in the meantime let's make sure the tracks are happier and stronger this time round

CHT did not focus on the MRT Maintenance and wait until break down occur then he commence to look into the problem. The lack of efficiency cost serious breakdown and led to insecurity and safety of the commuters. The authority also responsible to safeguard the safety and security of the commuters and in this aspect action must take against the officer who failed in his responsibility. This also ensure that all minister and officers failed in their responsibility must face the penalty of the law to prevent favoritism and that iron bowl does not persist in the government.

Why so many rail got problem now only found so many defect and rust look like nobody check the system. I remember before they use platforms rail to check the rail track system.

limiting to 10 years for local cars despite the car can still run normally but no limit to usage of kawasaki trains at 35 years old? If not for this damage, it could be used until 75 years old.

For these frequent trains services breakdown are due to prolong lack of adequate train tracks maintenance. This E-W line almost 40 years old. Imagine previous faults accumulated throughout these years, thus causing major system breakdown. I suggest our MRT management should learnt from China Railway Corporation in how to adequately maintain these train tracks. I had never seen any major train faults in China Railway. Imagine Singapore as a world class infrastructure country, how can such things happened in the first place. It is a worldly total disgrace.

Always use Cheap Chinese parts to save cost and pocket more in own pocket of course always break down ba??
