Nice tip on undoing the pvc coupling I’d never seen that before, definitely going to try that. What part of FL are you in?

Nice info man but i have a question, why did you have replace the evaporator? I mean it had a really bad leak or a crack on it? How do you determine when it is time to replace it since at the beginning of the video you said it wasn't an old unit, I'm new in this so I'll appreciate any advice.

I replace every leaking evaporator coil if it has a leak in it. (not worth the effort or liability trying to repair it) Thanks for the feedback

I agree if it's under warranty the homeowner deserves a better more reliable repair. Those evaporators aren't cheap.

We have a 11 month old Trane and over the past month or so have noticed water leaking onto our filter. The company that installed sent a tech out two times, one taped the insulation in the unit and said it is being caused by condensation on the coils, it continued to leak. The second tech cleaned the coils but water is still leaking onto the filter. Wondering if you think we may have a leak in the coils that may need this replacement?
@VictorofHVAC
@VictorofHVAC Год назад
Condensation leaking onto the coils could be a number of things and could also be tricky to diagnose if not taken into consideration of all factors. I wouldn't be able to point you in the right direction without knowing the situation. Good luck Debra, hope they get it figured out. 👍

VICTOR! those aluminum tubes you were bending and getting into place...how fragile are they?? I'm trying to remove that front panel from the A-frame coils so that i can see the INSIDE of the evaporator. I suspect its clogged with pet hair, but im not sure. The problem is I don't want to cut any coolant lines to do this....but those thin aluminum coils are in the way! Can I move them the way you did if mine are still connected? I just need a bit of space to get that damn triangle front cover off! Please let me know!
@VictorofHVAC

They are very flexible but you still need to use precautions that you don't Crack a solder joint
@VictorofHVAC
@VictorofHVAC 2 года назад
I've done it several times to be able to access the Triangle cover plate on the A-frame that you're talking about. I've had success every time that I've had to do so
@israelfontanez615
@israelfontanez615 2 года назад
you do not need to brushup joints for solder?
@VictorofHVAC
@VictorofHVAC 2 года назад
You really should but when you unsweat the copper you wont have an issue with flowing that solder. If it were old copper I most def would have. great question sir.
@5822huron
@5822huron 2 года назад
Drier should be done last... think about it's purpose.. you can also drop that hot suction pipe in the water bucket after sweating it out to cool it off.
@VictorofHVAC
@VictorofHVAC 2 года назад
Thanks for the input sir, but It really doesn't matter when the drier should be done, as long as it's done 👍 and I'd rather stay away from moisture so dropping the Suction line in a bucket of water isn't ideal (respectfully speaking) 🙏 ✌
