Follow these simple 1,134 steps to replace your fuser! Half the time I couldn't tell what I I was looking at in the video. I finally realized that the upper right was the orientation of the printer, but I had many things that just didn't match so it was still a pain. Absolutely the WORST printer to ever work on! I've had to recommend to all my clients to switch printers after MANY MANY complaints about the cost to service it. Whoever thought this design was OK, and the idiot who approved it should immediately be demoted to servicing this printer a minimum wage! Even worse when you fire it back up and you get some generic "Internal Communication Error" and have no idea which of the 150 parts you messed with that it could be! The one I just finished I'm pretty sure the cable to the scanner is messed up, I didn't get the hinge in all the way (while I give you props for the top to tape down the scanner, there was no mention about getting that tab to fit in there just right) and when I went to look at it, it sprung open and flew off the back and was hanging by the cables. Way to ruin a $900 printer!
Most manufacturers have it so fuser just pulls out without having to strip machines down. Why has hp made it so awkward to change a consumable part? These bits do need replacing from time to time.
Just went through this... pure pain and suffering, just to remove a 0.5x0.5 inch piece of paper that got stuck and jammed printer whenever printing on two sides...
