Replace serpentine belt for Mercedes e320, even other cars as well, without using any special tools but just a wheal spanner and or screw driver/anything hard. ONE PERSON can do this in 5mins, even ladies.
Thank you.I did something like that 3 hours ago. One extra I did was a wire pull the belt upward and A SCREW driver to flip it and a bar to jack the tensioner, hard though.......managed to changed the belt. Amigo.
This is a quite effective trick given you have enough working room. It is rather not so straight forward on most car models; especially if you have little to no working room.
Thank you Lyn; Thanks to you last evening I got my alternator belt on. event dough after losing my tensioner screw all the way, I still couldn't put my belt on just by using my hands. ( In my case I changed my alternator on a Dodge Stratus Rt 3.0) (This kind of cars has a tensioner screw ) Thank you very much again and Blessings!
And looks like they have a leak somewhere as well freaking crazy how dumb people can be if there is not the right tension the belt they will run into all sorts of problems I mean wow!!
Original FoMoCo Poly-V belt broke at 55,000 mi. Ford dealers didn't have any in stock. AutoZone, Advance, O'Reilly's, NAPA, Bumper to Bumper didn't have one. AZ actually had one by size but not by application! Installed it w/o the special tools. Regular socket (18mm) wouldn't go in. Got a through socket set at Harbor Freight for $20 shorty socket just barely fit! Turned the crank while guiding the belt onto the generator (slang: "alternator") pulley by main force. No guiding tools, no sandpaper tricks.
It gives me hope that I can do my belt, I have no breaker bar and can't move the tensioner, it's a different set up for the belt, but I'll use the new water pump I installed as leverage 😂
TO ALL OF US WHO WATCH THIS VIDEO ..SHE DID EXCELLENT JOB WITH BULL..S,,, VIDEO LIKE THIS PEOPLE GET PAY FOR POSTING VIDEO LOOK THE RESPONSE 273,300 VIEWS AND KEEP GOING UP NOT SO BAD GIRL I THINK YOU FOOL US ALL LOL THIS VIDEO WORKS AT LEST FOR HER LOL
As a woman learning to do her own mechanics, I fully support women in videos. But holy fxck! He needs to keep her out his videos. I don’t care, divorce her ass if ya need to. But I came into this video hoping to put my belt on, half way through I was so annoyed distracted and confused I couldn’t remember what the video was about 😂
That bearing on the water pump is fried. look at all the play at around 2:44. Can't wait to see what tricks are up her sleeve that........... Lady you..... nevermind, don't want to make a novel on everything I see wrong.
then you scoop it up, you scoop it up.. this is now the sound playing in my head every time I buy crypto dips 🤣 on a real note I hope noone tries to put their belt on like this unless you're stranded on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere on a sunday.
It worked for me but I did get the 2 screwdrivers stuck between the belt and the pulley so I left them there for next time. The engine was a little noisy on startup but seems to have settled.
Maybe we should ask the question why did it slip off to start with? Maybe that water pump hub dancing in the wind is the issue 😅 fix the water pump fix the problem or get good a putting the belt on with a screw driver lol
That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen... and on this edition of crackhead mechanics we watch the crackhead shove a screw driver under a new belt onto a broken pulley and toasted water pump!
Need new Alt - stripped 19mm tensioner nut frm replacing wtr pump month ago-used 3/4 scket & got belt off-replaced Alt & got new tensioner arm -have to Jack engine up to get only 2 tensioner bolts out- I’m in park lot at Starbucks so I want to blow up car now or find a hack to get belt on alt with old stripped nut tensioner arm and have about a nano micro area to work with!
@@brutusbigman8952 the tensioner pulley has 1/2in square hole... I used the floor jack and the weight of the to push the pulley into place while I got the pulley on. It worked surprisingly well.
Just keep a ring spanner in the car which matches the auto tensioner pulley bolt size. That way you just use that spanner to crank the tensioner loose as required whenever you like
I live in a tiny town were even told like that are rarely for sale. You can order them online but with current B's that takes months. I used a floor jack as a third arm.
Am more concerned about the people in the comments not mentioning the broken water pump pulley that is making it easy to put the belt on without a tool
You must be very experienced doing this, I can't see the belt lasting very long after being abused like that. There's only one way to do this job, that's the right way... this isn't it.
Where I come from, we call this "Nag-splaining"... oh, and corner-cutting. I usually just stop what I am doing and hand the tools to the "nag" in question and say, "fine, its so easy, go ahead, I'ma get me a beer now."
I partly disagree with all the commenters below I thought it was a great video, but I also could not get through the half of it... it's such a terrible video, "...heres the best part" 😂
My o my sure would be lovely to have that much room to work with. Holy hell. I have not even finger width room to work with. You can fit a damn bathtub in all that space.
Yea this is great & all but my car doesn’t have that much room to maneuver a screw driver, barely even a small socket between the pulley & the wheel well/overflow. There’s no way this will work on my Camry. Sad day.
First thing I noticed was the broken plastic pulley and then prying the belt on the pulleys and then the bad waterpump and I thought OMG. The name if this video should be "This is how not to put on a serpentine belt ". Some people want the Mercedes but cant afford to have them maintained properly , so they have to do the best they can , to get by . I'm thinking that they didn't know how to loosen the tensioner ; it would have been a lot easier and then been adjusted correctly.
Pretty easy job on these engines which are rear wheel drive / 4WD. Because the pulley side is facing you with lots of working room. I’ve done this job on a few GM front wheel drive cars, with the pulley assembly to the left side of the engine, with about 3 cm working room🥵. Extremely difficult to do by yourself, as you can’t see shit, nor can you get your hands fully in there. A lot of torn knuckles and swearing got it done lol
