VIN : voltage / 12v+ ENA: on/off control DIM: ADJ adjust brightness GND: connecting Ground You need experience in electronics and a service manual to find the components that will desolder, these kits are difficult to install.
Thanks for the video. I learned a lot from it. First: I think you had the wiring correct the first time V+=red wire 12v; ENA=orange/yellow; DIM= gray; Gnd=Black. Your problem is that you need a logic NOT gate at the DIM to reverse the voltage input at the gray wire so higher voltage=brighter and lower voltage=dimmer on a laptop. A simple circuit like the diagram here: forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=182940.0 You can use an NPN transistor like a 2N2222, a 1Kohm (R2) and a 10kohm-100kohm (R1) resistors. Second: the error message? There are a couple reasons for that including a program running in the background. You'd have to look up the cause in manjaro but usually turning off a back up program or an update will be the cause. This is a troubleshooting guide from microsoft that might help the next time: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/print/power-management
