Dude, I’m with you. I never even saw this gun coming but was stoked when it dropped. Especially with the Tac Ops. Been carrying for about 6 months. I’ve even carried it on jobs. I was considering an aftermarket slide to get around the comp of the original macro. 17 rounds! Absolutely fantastic. Got about 800 rounds through mine with one failure, which was probably the tension in the new mags. That’s what I was on the range sorting out in the first place. Sig knocked this one out of the park. Thank you for your thoughts on this one. I always respect your thoughts and opinions. 🙏🏻
Do you have an optic on yours? I just saw a review that said the rear sights will NOT come off. Which takes out a good amount of options for optics. Thanks
@@QUEST_4_FREEDOM rear sight should def come off by traditional drifting. The rear sight channel is cut separate from the optic channel. To add a different optic outside of their spec is going to require custom milling. I’m running the Holosun EPS currently.
Thank you for your response. I'm the first to admit, I'm new to optics and Optic cuts and all of that. I read that in a review. It may be on Palmetto State Armory website I believe. I was about to get a Holosun HE407K-GR X2 6 Red Dot Reflex Sight 1x and then I saw that review and now I don't know what to do
It is weird too because I have youtubed and searched for Tacops p365 macro with Optics and I don't know if it's my head or what but it seemed like those had less optics on them than the other options for p365's
Awesome review! I am 6'9" and also currently carry a Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS. I really want to get The X-Macro TACOPS. I'm pleased to hear the positive review coming from a big guy like myself!
Armory Craft Ultimate Trigger Spring Kit. It's only $20 and cleans the creep and mush out of the trigger, makes it feel slightly lighter and has 100% reliability from my testing and their claims. It does take a little work to install because you have to disassemble a good bit of your FCU and striker. Wasn't too difficult with limited tools.
First firearm I bought was the sig 1911 TTT. NEVER had an issue or malfunction. This was an extremely informative video. I’ll be purchasing the p-365 next.
Nice details! I'm really stoked about the smallest P365, since I pocket carry and find the small grip quite comfortable. With a 17rd mag for the reload, and I'm a happy CCW! For those interested, adding a thumb safety is dead easy; it will pop right into the circular cutout at the back of the trigger module. The hardest part will be cutting a safety slot in the grip module, if a notched grip is not available to fit the owner's preference
The P320 XCompact was already a G19 killer, when the P365 XMacro out, it just became embarrassing, it's hands down probably the best 9mm hi-cap carry pistol on the market today.
@@MercyBlack137 Dude don’t beat the dead horse again. Look up how many silent recalls and upgrades Glock had throughout the 90s including slamfire incidents. Don’t have a double standard.
I saw the P365 X-Macro and was impressed with the size and capacity, but not a fan of the "comp". I love my X-Compact P320, but when I saw a video of a build I thought 🤔, "If only they made this no "comp" version direct from the factory". Then I realized my prayers were answered before they were even sent. No "comp" a longer barrel, extended controls, and an easier conceal than my P320 with the WC Carry 2 grip. This will be my EDC for the foreseeable future. The EPS Carry with the direct mount screws feels like a cheat code. Now to follow up on the recommended Armory Craft P365 Ultimate Master Spring Tuning Kit.
Nice review. Thanks for the sight recommendation. I currently have the Sig suppressor height sights with the Holosun 507k and it takes up too much of the window. I also have the Mcarbo trigger installed, it takes up alot of pretravel check them out. It was not too much of a pain to install.
I have a stock p365 and just ordered this. Gonna swap the slide and fcu into that smaller frame for when I wanna carry that. Will also get EPS carry MRS green as well so I’ll had an optic to use
I carry one in the chamber. definitely hard to rack the slide with a full mag. Hoping it would just break in. Love the tacops with a longer barrel vs the macro comp.
Racking gets better with time. Got to get in and clean and lube it. Especially clean the magazines. Some of them come in from factory very gritty and dirty. Have the compensated macro and performs well.
I knew you were a big dude when i saw how you were holding this pistol in your fingers. The TACOPS is relatively large in my hand and you're handling it like I do a standard p365😂
Yeah I bought the xmacro comp version because that was available at the time of purchase. I like it, but it was 150 more which is crazy. If you can get the regular xmacro do it. Longer barrel, same length slide and two mags speed loader. For $649.00 vs $800.00 Tacops you get a mag flare and 2 more mags for 750.00 it’s a little better buy.
IMO, Tacops is definitely the best value of the 3 due to the 2 extra mags ($54/ea. MSRP), flared mag well, and extended slide release - I also prefer the 3.7" barrel over the comp version.
I have the normal XMacro, not comp or not Tacops. Came with a manual safety which I opted for. It is amazing! Wish the comp came with a safety but it didn’t unfortunately. I could always change mine to be that way though but I love how the longer barrel in my normal one shoots!
I added a manual safety (takes 5 minues) , upgraded to the Wilson grip module while at it. If you want to beat guys with full size guns at classes or competition, this is the set up.
Was looking at one of these and a g45 about 3 months when deciding on a new ccw. It was a hard decision but i went with the g45 due to it being about $80 less and having a better finish for southern weather.
I have a 19X and would consider myself more of a Sig guy. The 19X is by far the best gun I have and I shoot it better than any of my Sigs. I like the 19X so much I think I need a G45.
cant blame u alot of guys who been shooting the tacops been slowly switching back to the 19 or g45 considering finish and the gun malfunctioning after so many rounds the control unit wears out after so many rounds run through them big issue with the p320 also and the finish on mine is just sub par even the the gun is thinner i cant really tell the difference in carrying my 19 or the tac ops still prints the same but i do know my glock is alot more accurate of a gun and is 3 years old and my tacops is 5 months old and looks like its been through some shit and i only have 300 rounds through it compared to my glock having over 1500 and still looks new
I ditched my g19 for the 365xl about 2years ago and have pretty much carried it everyday since, I shoot it so well and am very confident with it. Loved the g19 and originally was going to only use the xl In summer as I’m a smaller guy and really had to pre plan what I wore during summer with the g19 but ended up shooting it so good just can’t see going back 😎
I have the p365 XL and the p365 X macro non-comp like this gun absolutely love both guns but the macro was printing more than XL so I was carrying that but then I recently found the Pegasus by DeSantis slim-tuk holster for the macro it is the best holster that I have found it holds the gun so much closer to my body and don't print at all so I've been carrying my macro again lately but absolutely love both guns I have 1700 rounds through my Excel and 1950 through my macro no issues and I have shot the cheapest ammo that I could get through both of them they've been flawless
I've heard a lot of positive things from people recommending the PHLster carry system for AIWB. It allows for a very close to the body mounting system. There are several holster options that work with it : PHLster has their own, Henry Holsters, KSG armory. If you're on the fence about the Xmacro because of printing, check them out.
Hey Man, great review as usual. Any word on Wilson Combat Grip Module or potential 365 X-Macro Tacops evolution like Equinox, Classic, Scorpion, AXG Grip or Legion? Thank you........
Tacops is fine, I’d rather have the non comp, non Tacops version. I don’t like the magwell. If for some reason I need to strip/pry out the magazine it’s more difficult to do so due to sinking deeper into the grip. The regular X Macro allows the bottom of the magazine to stick out for easy access.
I have done the same but not the tac ops because of the extra heat the comp and ported barrel will give off and have not got completely comfortable with the Sig yet
Have you tried the Glock 45 9mm? I have one with the holosun SCS MOS optic on it. once I upgraded the trigger it's a nice shooting pistol. I just picked up one of these X Macros yesterday.
I rented a p365 at a local range. I was shocked at how the recoil wasn't bad and obnoxious. My G19X has more of an obnoxious recoil than the p365. I definitely would want p365x for longer grip, macro maybe even better.
Just add an adapter plate and you'll have the cowitness you want. Also, fully load the mags and set aside for a couple weeks before using . I've had 5 including 10, 12, and 15 rounds, (no Macro yet) and subsequent loadings became easier. The WC modules are great. My only complaint ever with P365's was grip didn't feel right but the WC's are great. I have one on a 320 RX and big improvement. Added the WC tungsten grip weights as well.
Where are you putting your support hand when your fingers are wrapping all the way around that narrow grip; is there any room on the grip for your support hand?
Had a catastrophic failure with a p320 and p365 using no factory ammo. Just replaced the grip module and the slide stop in the p320 and kept on rocking, Replaced the Grip module on the p365 and kept rocking. If that happens to a Glock you would have to pretty much replace the gun (serialized receiver)
@@johns6431your not very smart are you. Just google Glock catastrophic failures you’ll find a whole shit ton. Ammo generally causes catastrophic failures, not the gun
The Sig P320C Romeo was my Glock 19 killer after 7 years of EDC. The Sig P365XL Romeo was my P320 killer.. Been carrying the P365XL Romeo Zero for 3 years and don’t see changing anytime soon..
Seeing how you have to count on the pistol for defense of life feel the machanics of the 19 and that sig when tbe trigger breaks on a sig its dol and weird sounding the glock crisp and its just a better gun the springs are bigger and parts dont have to be micro size .i aint rushing to bye a 800 dollar peice .
I like my sig x macro. Carries just a tad better than my g19 but honestly, they both don't carry as well as some other options. Also I definitely don't think it's a glock killer. After doing a cheap trigger job on my g19, the g19's trigger blows my macros trigger away. The comp on the sig just made it recoil like a stock g19, and after i installed a comp on my g19, there is no comparison. The compensated g19 shoots way better than my macro. Especially with the trigger job.
Nice review. You should post a range review. One question. Have you tried shooting the gun with a round in the chamber and a full mag (17+1)? With the gun cycle a completely full mag?
@@HWG-wm8ld The author was talking about how hard it was to rack the slide on a full mag, indicating a lot of slide drag from the fully compressed mag spring. That slide drag could retard slide cycling from the first round.
I have a P365xl and this is extremely difficult to do with the 12 round mags. I opted in for a magguts +2 conversion and keep one less in the mag if I’m not chambered.
Give us a self-defense situation where you will need to immediately rapid-fire hundreds of rounds through a pistol. It's not an IPSC gun, its a carry/home defense gun.
I can't decide between 365xl or X?.. What's the barrel length on this one above your showing? Pls tell me how the barrel length 3.1" makes the difference vs. 3.7" ?
I have both IWB and OWB for different outfits. For IWB I personally like crossbreed or similar style “hybrid” holsters. My OWB is made locally by AAA Concealment. That’s just my personal preference though, it’s important to try out different kinds to find what works for your needs and build.
I've been carrying my 3rd gen G19 w a 17 mag forever. Thinking of switching. Heard they had some safety issues? Going off in a holster and whatnot. All that worked out?
That was the p320 not the 365. Only issue 365 had was the striker getting brittle and breaking but that was the very first batch of 365’s before the xl, macro, macro comp or tacops existed and it’s been solved.
Everybody is different. I find red dots useless and donated mine to Ukraine. I put Speed Sights on all guns. I am exploring BarSto ported barrels. Cheers
I was concerned about the 17 round slide and how hard it was to rack slide. I was going to carry 17 plus one but decided to carry 16 plus one, thinking it would be more reliable. I figured if you fired first round the next round would be easier to load since there is 16 rounds instead of the harder to rack 17 round total.
Just had a conversation with sig CS earlier today about my brand new p365 that came with 2 Mags that wont reliably function. They said i need to break in the gun/mags with 200-300 rounds to expect any reliability. What are your thoughts on that? I've never had a pistol mag issue outside of 1911s.
I haven’t had that experience with my mags personally, but that seems excessive. If all of your mags are having issues then one would think that the pistol itself is the problem, not the mags
You can also completely load and unload those new mags 5 times. This has solved that each time I’ve seen. From 365 mags to shield, and even the new beretta 80x cheetah. You should be right back in business!
@InferiorRifles it's the mags for sure. The followers are getting stuck. if I eject the mag and tap it to dislodge the follower, it shoots up and gets stuck half way out the top. I'm going to load and unload the mags a bunch of times like the other guy said here to see if that fixes it. Either way, it's wild to me that a modern handgun would have an issue like this and that the companies stance is to "break in" the magazines.
@@InferiorRifles Thanks! I like these H3 irons even more than Ameriglow or Trijicon. I would love if you can do a quick video showing how they look infront of and through your optic.
Yea it SHOULD be cheap to change the grip frames. That was spose to be the point. But these companies making them are charging $400 for a grip frame… you can buy full guns for 4-$500. So I can’t quite understand why someone would buy a x macro for $800 then spend $400 on a grip frame. Now add a $350 red dot. A trigger, some extra mags, jeez by the time you do this your at a $2000 carry pistol lol… I get the modularity of it and it’s great for certain things when your using basic products. But to buy a $400 grip frame is absurd to me. To each is own tho I guess! Nice video.
The $400 grip modules you’re referring to are full CNC aluminum. It’s a complicated part to machine and then has to be anodized or coated in some way. All of which meaning it will be expensive when compared to Sig’s $65 OEM polymer grip modules. People typically add the upgrades you mentioned because they add something that the gun previously lacked, even if that “something” is just a better feel or aesthetics. If you don’t see the value in an upgrade, don’t install it. None of this takes away from the Macro itself being a fantastic carry gun.
1 guy made a video about this on youtube and suddenly everyone is talking about P365s rusting. I have 2 of them for years, no rust. It's embarrassing how many people use youTube as their source on firearms.
