This is how a video should be. You listed the year, make, model of the car and an estimate of how long it should take. WELL DONE!!! EVERYONE who posts a repair video should do the same thing or have a ghost pepper jammed up their tail-pipe.
Extremely simple if you follow the video. Did however take me a minute to realize the tensioner was behind a plastic guard cap to the lower left of the alternator. Thank you for probably saving me $300-400!
he just grabs it like that so easily... when i took that ground out i made sure my battery was disconnected and i wrapped that sucker in electrical tape like 1000 times...
The M3 is slightly different as the idler and tensioner are in different spots, however, the concept is pretty much exactly the same. Be sure to make a quick sketch of your serpentine belt routing before disconnecting everything.
Might be. I didn't look into it because I had to replace mine before my car left me stranded; however, the rebuilt alternators are quite expensive and often have a few complications with fitment.
Good Morning! Ill try this on my m52 e39. I hope I don't have to disconnect my cooler like all the other vids do and be able to do this minimally invasive. Thanks!
Okay so the tensioner on my 2000 2.5 z3 is to the lower left behind a black plastic dust cover. Just pry off with a flat head and it will reveal a torx T50 bolt
Did you spring for the 140 amp ? Or the 80 amp? - I got the 80 amp last time - I’m going to upgrade to the 140 amp... heard it clears up all kinds of computer glitches - firing etc...
