Super impressed with the ease of which you run through the fixes in your video! Wondering if you could point me in the right direction, have the same car and any 18 error codes and 2 engine codes : P0172 and P0175. Would appreciate it!

At about 3:08 in your video you talk about removing the bracket. Previously, you specifically refer to the top support screw as a T 30. However, when you first start talking about removing the bracket, you refer to them as “Allen” so I took that literally and found the Allen key that seemed like it fit tightly, only to have it strip out. (this is ultimately my fault. I should have visually checked instead of trusting a video) you then refer to them correctly a little later on in the video and I understand it’s such a dumb little detail that doesn’t matter really…… except in cases of people like me who have never worked on a Mercedes before. I’m just starting to learn. So, I’m literally following your video step by step. Pausing it in between the steps so I can keep up with what’s going on in the video… so once I heard you say take the bracket out with Allen heads, I paused, grabbed my Allen, and went to work like a dummy. Maybe something to consider a quick edit if you’re bored. Anyways, thanks for such an amazing, detailed, and informative video. Certainly helped me and also taught me a valuable lesson! Thanks again

My air pump sounds just like the one u ordered new, but i still have the check engine light on with the same code. Even though i changed the air pump, the relay, and the fuse. Is there anything else that will be able to fix it?

I don’t need to program it? Or adjust the flow or something? Just replace the part and that’s it?

I’ve replaced the fuse , swapped relays, put new vacuum hoses on and even cleaned both egr valves.. and still get the code. Do you have to have a scanner to reset the check engine light? Or does it clear itself? I’ve even disconnected the battery and still the light is on..
@HowtoAutomotive

You need a scanner to clean the codes.

Thanks for the update. I didn't have a scanner to clear but driving it about a few days it reset itself. I guess doing one of those things helped lol@@HowtoAutomotive

My air injection pump is good, my relay is good and my fuse is good. Any idea what to check next for P0410?...thks..jc
@HowtoAutomotive
@HowtoAutomotive 2 года назад
There is a vacuum switch next to the EGR that goes bad or the vacuum lines break.

I changed the air pump and the relay and fuse but the pump is still not working ?
@HowtoAutomotive
@HowtoAutomotive Год назад
You need a scan tool to turn the pump on and off to test it. If you turn it on and it does not run then you need to test the wiring .

Piece of cake to repair ! Check for vacuum at egr valve when they are actuated - no vac check vac switch over valve for function - all ok then check ure O2 values while applying vacuum to the egr valves - no change in values then the valves are not functioning. Engine wash. Bill...
