He knows his history for the most part, and the Constitution forwards and backwards, but ... he flubbed the history of what censuses have asked over the centuries. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Generations were asked their place (including nation) of birth, and year of naturalization (made a citizen) if foreign-born. That was skipped for most from 1960 to 2020, though a long version was given to a small percentage which asked many more in-depth questions, including their place of birth and the rest. Like I said, he's amazing with Constitution stuff, and I don't mind saying I'd vote for him, but it just might have been better for him to avoid the census history.

Well he has said that he's needed in Congress to defend democracy and it's not a good idea to keep pushing our best Congressmen into running for President where their experience is less effective, we've lost Rep. Katie Porter and Rep. Adam Schiff is going to be Elected Senator for California and Rep. Maxine Waters is retiring along with other Representatives so someone is going to have to help train the new people up, Rep. Dan Goldman, Rep. Jasmine Crocket and Rep. Jared M. (I'm not going to butcher his Surname) and AOC have their work cut out so maybe there's a couple of Senators that would have a chance Senator Chris Murphy, Senator Corey Booker, Senator Mark Warner and Senator Elizabeth Warren are all young enough to try.

The first words of the Constitution are "We The People" Not We the States, or We the Landowners, or even We the white men. That's a Democracy. The King didn't set us free, we kicked him out. We wrote and ratified the constitution to grant certain powers to Our Government. We are the Sovereign. Not the States, not a President, not a Supreme court. That is a democracy.

And at least one founding father, Thomas Jefferson, believed that it should be updated regularly, when communicating with James Madison dated 1789 he stated "I set out on this ground, which I suppose to be self evident, ‘that the earth belongs in usufruct to the living’ that the dead have neither powers nor rights over it. I've known for almost my whole life that "under God" was added shortly before I learned it. When I started school in 1959, we learned the Pledge as it is today. My mom, who started 20 years, told me then that when she learned it, that it didn't contain "under God".

I just watched a Texas child support case from Texas, the judged actually used the phrase "so help you god" while he was swearing the witnesses in. If I am ever in a court situation and that pharse is uttered, I will be a real ass and say "there is an establishment clause in the 1st Ammendment, I will not swear to any deity". Might get me out of jury duty...

It would be nice as a baseline for all elected officials. A residency requirement would be a good step as well.
