I hope Ohio voters vote YES on Issue 1. The GOP made sure the ballot was written in such a way as to make it harder to vote yes. The explanation of the issue on the ballot is very meandering and long winded. In fact the place you enter your vote is on the SECOND PAGE. Ohio vote YES on ISSUE ONE. Finally tell the GOP to stop their illegal gerrymandering.
Retired Ohio teacher here. I remember the 7 times the Ohio Supreme Court declared our school funding formula illegal and told the legislature to fix it. They ignored it for years until the make up of the court changed. Come on, Ohio! Vote for dems for the court and yes on issue 1!
The charter schools of Franklin County are mostly within the Columbus Public Schools district. It was ruled recently that their bus drivers have provide transportation for charter school students, at their own cost, even though they have deficits.
@@fromthehaven94 Shaker is similar where the busses go to elementary and middle but high school buses to private but not the public school. Drives me crazy and I have a lot of students who are late bc walking or city buses. And there’s a lot of had reasons, bad reasons for how and why it is.

I hope the canvassers are helping to correct the misconception caused by LaRose's allowing the language of the issue to be put on the ballot. It's intentionally deceptive, riddled with republican bias and intentionally confusing. Even their lawn signs are a lie.
I have a friend in Ohio, and we have talked about this issue. I didn't know it was on the ballot, so I wish them luck to loosen the stranglehold of the corrupt GOP.
Not every state can put forth constitutional amendment. My state for example, doesn't allow it. That being said if you can do a constitutional amendment, you simply need to get enough people to sign a petition. No, it's the one way we can take action that doesn't require help from our state reps.
It’s so bad here. It used to be a swing state. They tried to split the cities (redraw the maps) in a way that would turn cities red. We voted that they could not do it, but they STILL tried despite the law. This is the state of Jim Jordan and JD Vance types so you know what we are dealing with. VOTE YES ON ISSUE 1.

We have campaign signs in front yards around Ohio that say "Vote YES on Issue 1--Stop Gerrymandering" next to a Harris sign, then their next-door neighbor with their own sign that says "Vote NO on Issue 1--Stop Gerrymandering" next to a Trump sign. It's all trying to confuse the voters--the outright lying in their campaign is mind-boggling!

Ohioan here. The way the bill is written on the ballot was clearly written to be misleading in Republican favor. Anyone not paying attention will be confused just by reading it.
Another Ohioan here - the signs the Republicans have are deceiving. The vote No signs say stop gerrymandering. The Republicans have done about everything they could to disrupt what the people's petition strived to achieve.
as someone who voted yes, I had to read through it multiple times to understand what I was voting for. I imagine most who are reading it for the first time at the polling location will tend to vote no. I wont be surprised if it doesn't pass, even though I believe most Ohioans would vote yes if it weren't written in the clearly biased way that it is. Phrasing like "Repeal constitutional protections against gerrymandering approved by nearly three-quarters of Ohio electors... " and "Establish a new taxpayer-funded commission of appointees required to gerrymander the boundaries of state legislative and congressional districts..." while technically true is definitely written that way to encourage people to vote no out of fear.
