A more powerful and dramatic version of "Requiem for a Dream." This was often used for movie trailers and was used for the "Lord of the Rings The Two Towers" video game.
I was doing some research when Requiem for a Tower came on. And suddenly, the fate of the world was dependent on whether I could finish my graph-transversing algorithm before the song ended. It was a race against time, but luckily we're still here.
Fate of the world, you say? I just finished my attempt at a world-saving novel with the protagonist summoning this song on his smartphone. He needs to hear 'the sound of orcs on the march - to face me in battle' (capitalists / religious nutters happy with the ecocide).
I found this song because of an comment made on iFunny, in cam video about a man that was about to jump in front of a train and saved by a woman who grabbed him a second before he jumped.
Hard iron and cold steel; scalding steam; unstoppable turning wheels with the momentum of countless rail cars; Thomas, the inevitable force; yeah this song makes sense. When Thomas was asked why he had committed all of the merciless horrors he replied with only these few words: "The trains must run on time".
I know this comment is three years old but 'Battle of Dagor Dagorath' syntactically makes no sense. Dagor Dagorath means The Battle of Battles. It was referred to in the Silmarillion just as The End. What you said is The Battle of the Battle of Battles.
+DarkKnightGaming looked for it for all of two minutes after I heard a fellow band perform this in compettion and wished it was part of our show instead of theirs XD either way its well worth the time to look for
This is just....it makes so many chills go down my spine....it makes me think about all the wars and all the people who have died in the fight for Middle Earth. The movies were epic and always will be for ever.
What I imagine when I listen to this is that I am a super soldier that is in cryo-sleep in order to prolong life, and then the military reactivates me. I walk out of my cryo tube, get my weapons and armor, and exit the underground bunker that I was in. Then, I see jets flying overhead, then I look in the other direction to see an alien space fleet, invading earth. Around the bunker, nuclear launch silos are preparing for launch, and the orbital defense gun that is one of five around the country, and fires nuclear shells which penetrate the target and then detonate, prepared the magnetic rails that send the shell down its path of destruction. The aliens respond by firing a barrage of lasers, which mostly miss their intended targets. Then, they also launch swathes of small fighter planes. Meanwhile, all weaponry in the area is launched except the nuclear missiles, as they were intended for use as a last resort. The five 203.2mm/8" high velocity super-heavy guns covering the orbital defense gun which were originally intended for obliterating armored airships and a believed threat of "land battleships" (in other words, land vehicles packing immense armor and firepower) penetrated the armor of one of the nine alien warships, but did not go far enough to do serious damage, but just the sheer total of the shells that exploded just inside the armor cracked the port side of the medium-sized warship and caused huge exposure to the innards of the ship. And then the second barrage hit the same areas, and then the ship burst like a banana peel. The orbital defense gun then fires at the flagship that launched the fighters, and turned it into a second sun for a few seconds. There was one flaw about the orbital defense guns; they took a couple minutes to reload. The 203.2mm guns fired on a small sized ship and the ship burst mere seconds after impact of the heavy shells. There were only four small sized ships and two medium sized ships left. They were mopped up easily after the aliens lost morale once the flagship was destroyed. The invasion was repelled, but one thing was for sure; a full mobilization of the orbital fleets of the nations of the world would have to commence immediately in fear of a second invasion.
I always used to wish that this track had been included in the trilogy, but Howard Shore deserved the credit for that entire amazing score. This version of this piece is great, but it's RFaD piece first and foremost. Thank you for attending my TED Talk.
The whole soundtrack to Requiem for A Dream is amazing. And I respect all the versions that have been done of the same haunting piece. It's one of those movies where the music is not just a side thing. And tho it's great for anything epic ( :P ) alot of people don't know the film. It's meant for modern life, a dark tale of melodies.
A dream. A nightmare. Realizing that your nightmare... is real. Fear. Chasing you down in a dark forest. All of your worst fears, chasing you down, never allowing you any rest, until finally, you stand up to them. A final battle. Deaths. Then... triumph.
For me its two massive armies with swords and shields, with a hill in the background, on the ocean side, the main focus on the general who you can see cleaving through his enemies and then at 3:48 his life-long friend falls, and in pure rage he strikes down his enemies and at the end he and the remainder of his army sail to the enemies kingdom and the song ends.
I first heard this in an eerie ‘mass ufo sightings’ (duration 12:40) compilation on yt probly 10 years ago and was enthralled but never knew what to search Until Whang! Mentioned it in one of his ‘brilliant tales from the internet’ videos! THANK YOU WHANG!
The one song used in just about every movie trailer ever released in the last 15 years. It says a lot about just how great this score is that even its overuse in trailers hasn't tarnished it.
Listened to this song when I was 8 years old through another video of which only 10 seconds of it had this song in it now I'm 14 and my journey has finished, for fkn. 6 years of my life I spent my free time by repeatedly watching 10 seconds of a video to listen to a masterpiece and finally I found it.
I finally found this! I could just cry because of the epicness. Love this piece. Kudos to the uploader! Now I can finally listen to this and cry at the same time.
Music in which you imagine wars and bloody conflicts that humanity has gone through for thousands of years, and the world still has not calmed down until now, and the real and final battle is still to prove existence and defeat evil and evil.
I got to know of internet and youtube when I was 12 years old. While watching a Star Trek starship battle I encountered this ost. I always love music without vocals. And finally after 6 years of search, I HAVE FOUND IT!!! HELLL YEAH!!!! I FOUND MY FAVOURITE THEME OF ALL TIMEEE!!!!! OH YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
+TheIdahoGamer its my favorite part too because it feels the most epic. Especially when playing a video game this is my first song of choice to play. This is so Inspirational
I'm so glad this song played on my pandora station again! I was really sad when I couldn't remember what it was called, but now, it is in my favorites. THIS. SONG. IS. EPIC!!!!!!!!! XD
This has to be the most emotional pre battle music ever made. I can just imagine tens of thousands marching silently to do battle not speaking a word & this being belted out you would feel invincible going to war. Then reality kicks in & you realise you're in the worst situation man has ever created for himself so it's a case of F**k it I'm British I take on all comers & never back down just like my father my father's father his father & his father before him. Before him his father also. We might taste defeat in a battle but we don't lose wars its not in our DNA. This is why our tiny island has never been conquered & we had an Empire the largest the world has ever known.
