This made me realize why the original and other old horror games felt so eerie and unique. It's that lack of detail in the sky and the atmosphere. It makes you feel like you're in some dark void. Almost like you aren't on normal planet earth.
The idea of demaking a remake back into the original graphical style is kinda wild. Getting a game like this would be such an interesting way to experience the vibe of the original but with updated design and mechanics.
I never got into the mechanics of the old RE games, i was more into RE 4 than any of the older titles, but at the same time, i liked the atmosphere and feeling of the first 3 way more than RE 4, so this is an absolute win for me. I just hope this get mde into a full game someday.
Verdade, mano, e uma nova mecânica e conceito interessante. Gostaria de ver como seria o Doom Eternal mas no PS1 ou 8bit como o Doom clássico, RE2 Remake no ps1 e etc
With all due respect, I really can't see how this is even remotely scary. It's a cool concept that I'd be more than happy to play, but I can't take PS1 graphics seriously at all.
These are reflexes from childhood, they cannot be overcome. When I played this in my grandmother's basement I was 12 years old and then it drove me into hysterics with fear of the dark
@@Un-known-117 The scary part is not progressing because you waisted all your bullets yet can still finish the game but it's harder. Or good placed jumpscares, CURSE YOU ZOMBIE DOGS FROM THE VENTS IN RE CODE VERONICA X! I NEARLY HAD A HEART ATTACK! It's mostly the lack of info that makes it scary, and the lack of graphics, FORCING your imagination to go wild.
@@Ryosuke1208 the game was released in the year 2000 and did poorly. Should have it been delayed and the storyline been re-written. It would have been possible to incorporated it as a prequel to Code Veronica. Hell we could have seen this released on the PS2, Dreamcast, GameCube and possibly Xbox. Nope only on PS and Asia managed to get a PC port of it and it wasn't still good. However, there's not much history of the game development or any documentary of it's making? Only newspaper and magazine clippings are floating out there online.
This feels like it got pulled straight out of an alternate universe where the OG game actually played and felt like this, just make the game run at 25-30 FPS and we're good haha. In all seriousness... This would've been a developer's absolute wet dream back in the day, to be able to make a game look and play like THIS.
This is incredible. I'd pay a lot of money for this style of remake for the first 3 games. It's just better. The new remakes are fine and all but they just aren't the same.
@@jeisonpineda2404 I've played the originals about 59 million times. They no longer pose a challenge. There's only 3 of them and you can beat each one in a few hours.
While I like this concept alot, the fix camera angles are what made the originals special. Taking that away, we might as well just be playing a PS1 graphics mod on all of the remakes. And yes, that's kind of what this video is and it is a very good and well made video, if this was playable I would play it, but just saying
The original resident evil games and silent Hill games were like bread and butter. They were the epitome of survival horror. I would love to have games like those again
@@foxbyte0157 I was born and playing ps1 since 2001, i did play the entire trilogy. Resident evil 3 being my favorite. i meant that i would play the entire trilogy again if they were made like in the video.
Actually, that was possible (Well, not to the smooth extent in that second) in PS1. Devs could program in a light that altered vertex color values to give the impression of dynamic lighting. The most notable example is how Silent Hill's flashlight works.
Would be nice if the environments look like the pre-rendered backgrounds from the PS1 game. I'm pretty sure they can be rendered in real time now with today's tech.
It's kinda funny the remake looks more like the original RE2 than the demake. The pre rendered background's foliage and tiny details of the original ps1 game were finally realised in 3d with the remake. This look reminds me of the Resident evil Gun Survivor games to a tee.
You should make this as an actual mod. Keep the whole model like the city, but just add the pixel effect and the characters and the sound effects. You’ll be good.
This would lower the system requirements for this game allowing you to play on unsupported hardware. LGR has a video on doom 3 lowering the textures to run on a Voodoo card. I'm curious how far back in hardware you could go with this? System requirements minimum is a GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 460 both are 2gb cards It might be possible to get this down to a 1gb or even a 512mb card.
when games used to be quiet, we could literally hear the wind sound, now a days so much is happening around us that we cant even appreciate little things.
This is trippy. Texture and graphic wise it's pretty good PS1 but model and camera-wise it feels a much more advanced game, deffo next gen. I believe this type of camera (overshoulder) was a real struggle for the PS1.
As much as I love RE2 Remake, especially when going back and playing it again after 5 years (holy shit does time fly by fast), I can definitely say that the lack of that classic RE ambience from the PS1 games, the zombie moans and crow sounds you hear throughout the streets/city, removal of the marshaling yard and naked zombies from the laboratory section are definitely things the remake wasn’t able to recapture despite everything else the remake pulled off and delivered beautifully. I’d kill to play a demake version of RE2 like this one!
@@RusticGamesBR Putz, se algum dia sair um mod assim, vou esquecer dos dias tristes kkkkkkk fiz um shorts sobre essa demo e deixei seus créditos lá. Sai hoje 12:15
